Hello, I have a complaint about an OfficeMax location that I just left and how unfriendly and pretty much rude my husband and I were treated. I would think that employees would be more customer service oriented and appreciative of having a job at a brick-and-mortar location or any job at any location............and just appreciative that they have a job at all. I am in Glendale AZ and was at the Office Max location below: Office Max Store #6171 Store #6171 7974 WEST BELL ROAD GLENDALE, AZ 85308 (623) 486-2444 3:30 p.m. Mountain time on Wed, 4/9/2025. My husband and I came into the store to see if this location had a TSA Pre-check service (as some locations have discontinued that service). I asked the cashier (did not get her name) and she said they did have that service, but I had to make an appt. I asked if we could make that appt and she said "you have to make it on line, you cannot make it in person", I looked away at my husband and then she said..........do you want to know how to make it online? It wasn't "Well we cannot make it in person as you have to fill out an application online to reserve your spot" (giving me an explanation of why as that would have been nice to know details) The issue I had was the curtness and her attitude as if I was interrupting her when there was no one in the store). I was quite shocked...........to say the least. The attitude was not at all warranted nor was it provoked. I literally just looked at my husband (who was standing behind me away from the cashier) what happened to "Customer Service" There was literally no one in the store at all except 4 employees that I see up at the front of the store. Her attitude was one of......that I was interrupting her and pretty much made us feel like we were bothering her. I came home and called another location near me in Peoria, AZ and I was met with (on the phone) a very nice and giving employee that explained to me why I couldn't make an appt. over the phone or just coming in. Now that is an employee that is going places but the lady at the location above should not be in a customer service position. I did make an appt at the Store #6758 25340 N LAKE PLEASANT PARKWAY PEORIA, AZ 85383 (623) 376-2320 I believe that employee's name was Abigale that helped me on the phone and will go to Office Max again but Never to the location on Bell RD as this is not the 1st time that location has not been a place that I feel comfortable at (not welcoming AT ALL). The 1st time was awhile ago and didnt really think it would happen again but since it did, twice at the same location says alot for either the Management that employ's and trains and/or management themselves for not making sure "checking in" to make sure their employees represent the brand in a Welcome environment. Yes ; went there to get COVID card laminated; thought it was free but they changed policy now it's $2.70 . But most of all my complaint lies with customer service. After three people finally got done goofing around, I was waited on. Black girl with braids; finally between messing with her cell phone,and continually talking on cell did manage to get it done! I almost turned and left but I thought we'll it's free how can you complain. WRONG not free and was treated like I was a distraction between what she rather be doing! Talking on her phone!!!! I have been to this Office Max twice in the past couple of months. First time I picked up a two-drawer filing cabinet. I was immediately helped by the cashier upon entering the store. She contacted the person in the back and he brought up the file cabinet (in a box) on a hand-truck. He rang me up and took the file cabinet out to my car and loaded it up. Took 15 minutes at the most. Second time I needed toner and binder inserts. Again, immediately helped by the cashier, sending me in the right direction for the toner. Gentleman stocking the toner asked if I need help and quickly found what I needed, then took me to the other area to find the dividers. Employees are extremely pleasant, helpful and organized - which these days is very difficult to find. Thank you - it is very much appreciated! read more

I've had to go here several times for fax machine use. While I was waiting for one of the machines to free up, I took a walk around the store. Very very expensive. I can't see buying anything here when I can get the same thing at Walmarts for half the price. The staff at each visit or super friendly, very nice no complaints there. read more

Ugh. Been waiting a week on a supply delivery. No real info on the delay, just keeps updating to the next calendar date when I track it. Called this location for info. Was told it would be just a moment to speak to the manager. Instead was put on hold almost 30 minutes. Had someone else call on another line and finally got acknowledged. It was a bit unprofessional in front of a customer and I felt was very uncalled for , asking a simple question made me repeat myself, for this location to give it one star. Scenario: I stumbled into Office Depot last night 25 minutes to close, I had previously uploaded a 180 page document that I had prepared to be printed at their competition over the road. As I only gave the competition 6+ hours notice, they charged me a premium and promised a time of 7pm. When I came to collect the print job at 720 I was met with frustration and excuses. Experience: I was greeted by Jake at the print centre who asked how he could help. I explained my situation and we joked about it. I asked how long it would take to print it, Jake told me as soon as he get it, he could start but they closed in 26 minutes, he would try. I realized that my print job was in the cloud and I had no account. That's ok Jake gave me their email address and he was able to grab my 180 page print job, print, bind, cover and deliver the job in about 12 minutes. He even had time to explain how in future I can just email the store my job, be detailed in the instructions and they will let me know when it's ready. No having to go through a 3rd party account or website. No putting up with a frantic set of excuses for missing deadlines. read more

Walked in today to browse around, then se something interesting. A laser printer for $50. Looking around there were no associates to help. Walked to one if the registers to ask for assistance and was told the asst mgr would help me as soon as he finished bringing up the furniture. So while waiting for him, I browsed more selections. And after about 5 mins he showed up, asked if I still required help and then stated if I can hold on for a couple more minutes so he could get me a specialist. That threw me for a spin a bit. U would think the asst mgr could help me a bit before just sending me back out to wait. I can see that customer service is not a priority in this establishment. If it was, you would think that I would be assisted somewhat while waiting for the so called specialist. Unfortunately he just walked away. 20 mins later and still no one, the asst mgr came back up to me as I finally walked up to me and asked if I was helped. Nope, no one helped me, not even you. He apologized and then stated sorry, maybe next time. Really, next time, are you serious. Why even bother, if no one knows what's happening in the store, especially the asst mgr. read more

I ordered a photo, size 11 x 14 The night before pick up. I arrived for pick up at about 3 PM. We were expecting to just pick up the three photos and leave, since we had just ordered the night before. When we got there, the photos were not yet ready. I guess their system did not process our order, even though they did have the pictures. We had to wait a little bit longer. Approximately 30 minutes. We were in a bit of a rush, and management knew this. The manager ended up giving us the photos for free For the hassle and inconvenience. I'm giving a four star rating because there was a problem, but they managed to make things right. read more

I went to this location today and hardly any customers or people to help. I walked around for 15 minutes and could not find anyone to help me. I saw a sales person walking up a large box on a dolly and ask him if I could ask a questions and was rudely told I'm with another customer and I will be back when I CAN. I said OK, but told him I just wanted to ask where I could find something... he did not want to hear or deal with me and went upfront. I guess ringing up the customer with the large item was the priority. I waited there another 10 minutes hoping he was going to send another person to me or come back. My mistake! I dropped the paper I picked up to purchase at the front desk and then he asked me if there was something he could help me with? REALLY! I told him all I wanted was to ask a question where I could find something and I guess you really did not care. I left the store. I understand AMAZON and WALMART are taking over and leaving other retailers in the dust, but I will never step foot in this place again and this retailer should fall with the retail apocalypse. I went to Best Buy (by default) and they were willing to help me with what I was looking for and answered my questions on the product I was seeking to buy today. read more

Been coming to this office max for couple years now, I do all my printing and scanning inquiries here. I needed some quick printing service on the self serve machine last night, 05/02/2021. I arrived right before they start closing, a gentlemen walked in 20 seconds before me, they didn't stop him or tell him to leave, but when i approached the door the associate who works there pointed their hour sticker, didn't say anything, just started to pull the metal door. I was trying to tell her that I just need use the machine real quick and I will be out of there, and she let the other gentleman in but not me? Just because he's elder? That office Max associate straight up ignored everything I said and kept pulling metal doors.
