Definitely the beat BBQ I have had in Chicago, maybe the best BBQ I have ever had. I'm an Atlanta native so Daddy Dz and Fox Bros BBQ are high bars to overcome but Offset may actually do it. I had the brisket, pork, and chicken and all were fantastic. The pork was great but the brisket and chicken really stood apart as "best I've ever had." The waffle fries were also fantastic. Tonight was our first time dining at this great new find. We tried many different meats. Brisket and pulled chicken were very good. With your combo platter you get 2 sides. I had delicious corn bread and a yummy sweet potato with cinnamon butter. Friends had brisket, sausage and ribs. All reported that it was very good. The cole slaw and waffle fries were very tasty. They have 3 different sauces for your meat. I liked the regular tasting one. They have a sweeter one and a mayo based one. Another friend had the wedge salad with fried shrimp. Very good. We decided to have the blueberry hand pie for dessert and it did not disappoint. Made in house, it was delicious. Came on a hot skillet with homemade ice cream. They also make their own different flavored ice cream sandwiches, definitely on the list for next visit. The staff is extremely kind and accommodating. I have had Offset delivered and picked it up. Shredded pork and sliced brisket both times (no sides). Both were tender and smoky and had really nice bark. The sauce was good, not great. I haven't dined in yet but will in the very near future. This is really good BBQ, right in my neighborhood. Being new here, this made me very happy read more

We were in town visiting and wanted some BBQ, and we were NOT disappointed. I don't know what was better--the food or the service. Everything was 5 star! Our server Dani (Danny?) was friendly, knowledgeable about everything on the menu, and so quick! The music was great, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and the restaurant is clean and comfortable. As a St. Louis native, finding good BBQ in Chicago is no easy feat. I've tried it all and only faced disappointment until Offset BBQ. These are easily the best ribs I've had in the city, juicy, fall of the bone, and just the right amount of smoke. The smoked shrimp was also perfect. We ordered the waffle fries nachos as well which is probably amazing if you eat it in the restaurant but not great for takeout - waffle fries don't tend to stay crisp especially when they're covered in meat and sauce and cheese. I was sitting at home with my husband saying that I was so sorry one of our favorite bbq places closed in COVID and I think we may have found our replacement. The wings were smoked then fried and the sauces all were great. We tried the BBQ fundito which was super tasty as an appetizer as well. For dinner we ordered ribs, their version of Italian beef and the BBBLT. All were yummy. We ended with the key lime ice cream sandwiches and a warm blueberry hand pie with ice cream. A bit of a bummer. We've read all the good reviews and we're pretty excited to try it out (touted as better than green street); we ordered some nachos, fries, and a variety of different platters/meats. Nothing stood out as particularly good. The service was awesome and our server helped us take a tour of the menu, so we really did want to enjoy it. Looked for BBQ restaurants and came across this one. Reviews were good. Easy street parking. Food was good. I had a half slab of pork ribs, jalapeño cornbread, and smoked sweet potato. They also had a chipotle bbq sauce that was delish. I would like to go back and try some other things. Lighting in the small bar area was better than the large back room...too bright for me. Price for two is about $50 depending on what you get of course. There are affordable sandwiches, etc on the menu. Everyone that worked there was very nice and accommodating. read more

I wouldn't necessarily consider myself a BBQ person but after seeing all the reviews I knew I had to try it and WOW. Do not sleep on this place, truly the best BBQ I've ever had. The wings were absolutely phenomenal (only managed to snag a picture of the last 2 they were gone so fast!), from the wings themselves to the sauces that went with them. At most places, the carrots and ranch they give you with wings are nothing to write home about, but not at Offset. Even those were amazing. Abuelita's bowl was such a delicious mix of flavors (shout out to Maria / Abuelita!) and finishing the meal with homemade ice cream sandwiches was really the cherry on top of an all around great experience. Can't forget to mention the delicious bourbon peach tea, so refreshing and just the right amount of sweetness. Everyone here is also so friendly and great to chat with and our server, Maria, could not have been nicer or more helpful with her recommendations. We will 100% be back :) read more

I wish I took some pics but was too hungry. I'd recommend everything we ate but I think I'd get more ala carte meats next time since they were so good. I'd definitely recommend the bbq shrimp appetizer. Brisket and sausage were both really tasty and good amount for the price of the small sizes. The cornbread and cheesy cauliflower very tasty. We got the lamb shank and it was super good, skip it and get meats if you want bbq though. Still really good deal For lamb shank dinner. The white bbq sauce/ horseradish sauce was a standout, think the sauce that came with a blooming onion but ten times better. They are right around the corner from us so will definitely be going back regularly. Give them a try they had a rough start having to open during a pandemic! read more

I had a taste for barbecue and I saw this place online decided to try because of reviews. Well I can say not impressed at all, the waffles fries taste like they had been fried in old grease, the ribs they were ok, blueberry hand pie was ok. Lol everything was just ok. I came about 4:30 nobody was in there. So I guess I got the leftovers. Will not be coming back. Still on the hunt for some good barbecue. read more

Best place for wings in the city (and yes I've been to Jake M). These wings had a ton of smoke flavor. It was impressive how much flavor they got in the meat. The skin had prefect snap. The BBQ sauces were very good (Hawaiian was great and sweet, BBQ had nice flavor, the mustard one was just ok). The pulled pork was super juicy and may be the best pulled pork in the city. The brisket was incredibly soft and super thick cut. Only second to Smoque, given the flavor could have been more smokey. The sausage was the only thing not good. It was too soft and greasy, very fennel forward which is good but it was way too fatty. The smoked chicken was super juicy. It was impressive to have pulled chicken that juicy. Solid French fries and soft cornbread. It's also kid friendly. Speaking of kids that reminds me of the incredible ribs that my 4 year old polished off the bone. All in all, an amazing dinner. Hell motherf*ckin yes. This is the best BBQ I've ever had. I've ordered delivery many times and finally went in with a friend for a sit down. It's cute inside - dark in a comfy way with natura wood and navy walls- the. food. is. amazing. Got a brined, flash fried chicken that was crunchy and super juicy. The cornbread is moist, doesn't crumble all over the place - it doesn't even need butter or honey - it's perfect on its own. We had the BBQ queso that has brisket in it just to make it even more mouth watering. The sauces, y'all... mmmmmmm - the offset bbq house sauce is everything it should be, the white sauce has a fabulous horse radish creaminess and the huli huli is a take on a hawaiian style tangy, spicy, pineapple goodness! the cheesy cauliflower is better than mac n cheese. I also highly recommend the St. louis style ribs. I grew up in central IL and had a lot of family living south in St. Louis and these ribs are the real deal. Ordered the BBQ Chicken Sandwich with a sweet potato. The chicken was tender but the BBQ sauce was not good. The hot sauce taste they used to make it with was overwhelming so it had no tang whatsoever. To the establishment..go to the Westside or Southside and taste what BBQ sauce is supposed to taste like.. The Cole slaw had too much vinegar in it that you could only taste that and the cabbage. My sweet potato was still whole (not split) and was not all the way cooked. Could not say enough good things about this restaurant. The food comes out immaculate and fast. The staff is amazing. If you go make sure to ask for Carlo. He is such a nice and genuine guy and takes care of everything very swiftly and efficiently. The price points are very cheap for a solid Barbecue restaurant. The atmosphere is amazing and feels welcoming. The location is not far from the Blue Line and in a really vibrant area. I would recommend ordering the Elote as one of your sides.
