Alright, I'm about to rave about the smashburger at Patty Please. Ready? Seriously, food and service areis spot on every single time. The burgers get that perfect crispy lacey edge on the patty while keeping the inside juicy. I always go for raw onions to cut the richness, but the grilled are great too. The quality of the beef excellent. I suspect it's not just ground chuck, but I'm sure it's a trade secret never to be confirmed or denied. The American cheese is always perfectly melted, which is a big plus for me. Beyond the amazing burgers, the fries are worth a special mention. They're thin and perfectly salted, and they actually stay crispy! I'm not a huge fan of soggy fries, so this is a big win. Their cheese curds with jalapeno ranch. Top. Tier. The curds are perfectly fried, nice and golden brown on the outside with that satisfyingly squeaky cheese inside. And that jalapeno ranch dipping sauce? It's got just the right amount of kick and creaminess. Seriously addictive. The people who work here are always friendly and efficient, even when it gets busy. You can tell they take pride in what they do, and the service is always quick without feeling rushed. The atmosphere is casual and comfortable. It's a great spot to grab a quick beer or enjoy a cocktail. Honestly, if you're looking for a really good burger in Logan, you absolutely have to check out. Give me a heads up and I'll join you. The $$$ quickly adds up on the particularly small cocktails and grabbing a seat can be difficult thus the name Small Bar.Otherwise they'd be 5 star worthy. 4.35 stars.

So, i love me some small bar, and I finally got in to try patty please. Cheese curds and the double smash burger were on the dockett for us. Let's start with the curds. Oh, lawd. So amazing. A crispy, light batter and the cheese pulls are insane. The sauce is slightly tangy and the perfect accompaniment. Crispy edges, buttery bun, the perfect mustard/ketchup ratio, and crispy pickles. This burger is the archetypical smash burger. When people are craving a smash burger, this is the one. There is not one thing wrong with this burger, nor is there anywhere to improve. Come get one for yourself and you'll never go back

Hot take - I was not super impressed by the burger. NOW, did it have lacey perfection edges, Yes! It was made fresh in front of us, the bar itself had great vibes, service was great... it just wasn't mind blowing like people say *shrug* we also tried the fries and cheese curds, both solid. Again, no real complaints, it's worth the visit. But strictly on the hype of the burger flavor, good not great.

Next up on my quest to try all the "must-try" burger in Chicago..Patty Please. You probably heard of this smash burger pop up inside Small Bar. It's in a dive bar so you know that's the kinda atmosphere you're going to get. A lot of folks coming to try a burger and a lot of other regulars wanting to know why these strangers have come to invade their watering hole. In all seriousness everyone was mad cool. They do have a patio area on the back as well. The night I went in, it was pretty busy. Took about 25-30 minutes to get my order. My verdict....the burger was a damn good burger! I'd come back for it if in the right mood. Their fries also smelled and tasted as if they were dusted with pringles sour cream and onion flavoring. Can anyone confirm this for me? The curds were also very good. Besides the wait and the cramped space, I enjoyed my experience.

Order food at the bar. Reasonably priced and great covered patio with self serve water and large tables. Next time I'd get a double so that the ratio of meat was better, and I'd get the cheese curds. Great happy hour that goes till 7, and broad range of beers + cocktails

Bruh. This is the best smashburger hands down. The crispy edges, the potato bun, the onions. Whew. Add the bacon. Just do it. It's a little like organized chaos in there. Order at the bar and fight for a seat outside but baby it's worthy it.

Not sure what happened!! Came here last night with my boyfriend and we both agreed the burger was extremely average. Not a lot of flavor and the meat was also verrrrry pink in the middle (we have no problem with it but I know some would not be ok with that). Fries were good and service was great too. We were hooked on this place at first but I think word got around town and quality has decreased. Won't be rushing to come back.

double patty pleaser with bacon $3 upcharge, worth it. cheese curds, eris cider.

awesome vibe, easy free parking right in the middle of a wonderful residential area. patio was great and service was excellent. the burger was amazing. i would have complained the curds were overcooked and almost empty because of that but i really shouldn't even have ordered those, between the drinks and burger i knew i would be full. especially in this hot chicago weather mid summer. definitely will be back for burgers.

This is a place that has capitalized on…read moresocial media hype and people wanting to say they've been here and thus are cool and trendy. But it is seriously just a greasy smash burger. Their fries are good, and actually stand out more than the burger. Everything is overpriced. I don't know why people complain about the wait; do some research like a responsible adult. I never just walk into a place and expect to be immediately seated, I call first - like anyone who has some sense. If they tell you the wait is 2 hours and you have 2 hours to kill, there are a bunch of bars in the area where you can have some drinks and an appetizer (and not feel like you're stiffing Au Cheval; they're the ones with the 2 hour wait, what do they expect people to do?) Not much to say about the decor or ambience; it's a typically loud West Loop bar with mostly 20 - 30 somethings all trying to one-up each other with their trendiness that instead makes them all basically clones of each other. It is crowded, and you're a moron if you think any place like this is suitable for your 5 year old. That's not the restaurant's fault - it's not Chuck E Cheese. Often I wish Yelp offered a 1/2 star option, because there are places that are a 4.5 or a 3.5. Not in this case. 3 stars is spot-on.

Stacked unapologetically high, this burger is everything you want and more: juicy, perfectly seared patties layered with melty cheese, crispy bacon, and those golden, crunchy fried onions that take it completely over the top. Every bite is rich, savory, and just messy enough to remind you you're eating something seriously good. The toasted bun somehow holds it all together (barely), soaking up every bit of flavor without getting lost in the chaos. And then... the shoestring fries. Thin, crispy, golden perfection--light but addictive, with that ideal crunch that makes it impossible to stop at just one (or ten). They're the kind of fries you keep reaching for without even realizing it, especially dipped in that creamy, tangy sauce on the side. And let's not forget the drinks--just as good as the food. Refreshing, perfectly balanced, and the kind you sip slow while taking it all in (but somehow they disappear way too fast). It's not just a burger--it's one of Chicago's most iconic bites for a reason. Bold, indulgent, and absolutely worth every single napkin you'll need after. The ambiance inside is GORGEOUS!

Loved the 90s female R&B playlist they had going! Little Bad Wolf has been on my list FOR YEARS to try the burger! My husband got the burger with fried onions and I got some Bao because those also looked delicious and were a popular menu item. Honestly the 3 stars are only that high because of the service. Our server was friendly and attentive + the food came out hot and quick. Unfortunately, the food was pretty disappointing. The burger was swimming in a puddle of grease and just picking it up made your hands greasy + was dripping grease. The fries that came with it were floppy, soggy, and sad...but at least warm? I personally wouldn't order this again. The Bao were better, but small for the price and honestly were just okay? It was nice they gave you sauces you could add, but I found the Bao's to already have enough sauce so I didn't need them. Overall I left feeling confused and disappointed. I don't feel the need to come back here - Little Bad Will was a one and done experience for me.

I know it's not the original location which can play a part as well. What I really enjoyed and even finished my friend's were the fries. I love some good fries and these were top quality. You could taste the difference of the oil these fries were made in. They were nice and crispy and very good! I could keep eating them and would rather get the fries than the burger next time.
