Let's start by saying the menu signs and specials posted at the bar are wrong. When I asked they said " they are old and are wrong, no one updates them." So the specials are not available. Happy hour menu is wrong. Daily specials are wrong. Tap list is wrong and out of date. I first tried to order a "all day on Friday special". It's no longer available. So the posted price is wrong and they will not honor it. I gave the person a $20 for 1 beer and they could not figure out what change was needed. So a manager came over and had to use a cell phone to figure out change. During an event the lines are out the door just to order a beer because service is soooo slow. It's pretty spacious inside and there's also patio seating available. It's one of the few places on campus that you can find beer. They have pizza, salad and wings on their menu. I came here to order some pizza to help me pull an all night for finals, and I ordered a BBQ pizza. Simple as that. For some reason, my order did not go through, and they did not want to admit it. I also stood in front of the register, with no one to ring me up even though there were at least four people in front working. Finally, when someone came to help me, my card did not go through. I've only come here once because the line is usually way too long and I am too impatient to spend my entire lunch break trying to get a pizza from here. First time here. Guy making my pizza was very friendly. I like the fact that a print out of the receipt is optional, but the girl printed out someone else's receipt. They gave me a number, but wrote down a different one on my order, so the guy who brought the pizza over didn't know where to bring it to and made several trips trying to verify. Nice atmosphere: an open space concept with good a/c. However, too much lighting makes for a very bright area on a sunny day. Also, haven't seen anyone wiping tables. Additionally, music is too loud. A better option would be to play the louder volume in the bar area and not so loud in the rest of the restaurant. Pizza was good with a crunchy crust. I wasn't too hungry but a cold beer sounded great. All beers are $5 and they have plenty of options to choose from. A very relaxed vibe all around this place and I am sure it will end up making plenty of money. 1 MAJOR issue...There are no outlets in this place to charge laptops or any other item which is extremely annoying. This place is my go to for group meetings and after class brew time. I have been a huge fan of the create-your-own style restaurant. It allows you to make a decision without being limited by preferences of your fellow friend's taste buds. Today I met up with my production team for our final class project. I decided that I wanted to mix the different sauces to see if it was possible. Check I forget if her name is Kelly or Amy, but her and the line team fulfilled all my request. This is something that most chain restaurants prohibit (the mixing of sauces that is). While I grabbed the food, my friend David grab a round of local brew that was great, thanks to the help of the two guys who gave us honest suggestions on people we previously ask about. I stopped by here yesterday after I took my girlfriend bowling next door. We were pretty thirsty and forgot our water bottle so I took a couple clear non branded drink cups in front of the register thinking they were water cups. Apparently the cups I took weren't water cups but actual fountain drink cups as pointed out by Gustavo, one of the staff. My mistake, no big deal. The problem is I had already started filling the original fountain drink cups with water, but Gustavo insisted that I switch to the free smaller cups and throw out the larger cups or else he would have to charge me. Not only was it unnecessary and rude, his reasoning for it didn't make any sense. Having worked at a restaurant myself, I know how inventory is managed, and I know that all the cups in the store should be considered an expense item in their inventory. This includes the small water cups that are given out for free. According to Gustavo however, this is not the case. So he proceeded to take them away even after I pointed out the flaw in his logic. And on top of that, he would've had to throw away the bigger fountain drink cups I initially started to fill since I had made contact and exposed it to cross contamination. At least I hope they threw it away, and didn't reuse it or else that would be a health and safety violation. I never saw him do that so all I can do is presume. So essentially this guy made me throw away 2 used cups in exchange for 2 smaller cups for no good reason other than an excuse to power trip. This is was a really bad instance of customer service, and could've been completely avoided had he just thought it through. I was going to bring my party of 6 here after bowling and we probably would've spent a good amount of money here, but after this incident they didn't want anything to do with this place and we went to eureka instead. This was during the day on a Saturday when they're usually slower than normal too. Tisk tisk. I'm alumni from class of 2016, and this is not the kind of friendly service I remembered receiving from this place when I was an undergrad. Negatives: Despite the number of people who turn up here, the size is pretty limited. I've been here where there was no place to sit down on a hot afternoon and it was uncomfortable since its not set up like a regular bar. The beers are generally more expensive and I don't believe there's a happy hour pricing at all. I generally end up paying $~8 not including tip, per beer. He service is always hit or miss. I'd attribute this to having to deal with tons of bratty 21 year olds or college students in general, but those of us who have had a longer career in academia shouldn't have to suffer for this. Overall, it's not that bad, but I always feel like I'm overpaying for my experience.
