Rad place! The vibe is fresh and funky. The staff was pleasant and the restaurant was tidy. The food options are unique to set their menu apart from other bars. The Philly Cheese steak was so tasty and everyone at the table had a bite and wanted more. So good! The Big Cow burrito was also delicious. The Brutus Chicken wrap is also a win! The kids quesadilla and burger are the perfect size for young ones. We didn't enjoy any drinks at this visit but will next time. There's both indoor and outdoor seating available. Parking is available along the road. There is also a beer garden which they recently upgraded and host multiple events throughout the year. Definitely the coolest place in Jackson. read more

Ogma brewing is the kind of place I could frequent, if I didn't live over 6 hours away. My wife and I were in the Jackson area for a weekend and one my life's best friends wanted to catch up and visit Ogma. (He's been trying to get me there for years). This time was the charm! He's told me so much about the place that I felt like I knew it. We only got to visit for a couple hours (which is never enough time with my friend Mark), but I had a few beers and met some pretty awesome people. Ogma is a pretty cool place. They have a sizable craft beer menu and food (we weren't fooding on this visit, only beering). The place is long and narrow, and they have a flipping awesome selection of merchandise. My primary purpose of this visit was to catch up with Mark and imbibe in a couple Ogma brews (which I did, and which were amazing). If I lived closer, this would, 100%, be my hangout. Cannot say enough about the food here. Was in Jackson for a week and tried 4 different entrees, all were perfection. Tip, don't sit in front of the goat head or you will feel like it is looking through your soul. I love the skateboard decks on the wall, takes me back. As far as beers, I can usually find one I really like, it was Hellion Wolv Lager last time I was there. they don't have a ton on draft, but they seem to hit every taste/style with at least one offering. Always a win win at Ogma Brewing. We had Chelsea as our bartender while sitting at the bar. I had the Marzenbrier and hubby had the Sabro Cadabra. So glad we stopped here while visiting Jackson. Good music, great beer and amazing food. They even had a kids menu! The nacho was so huge - I should've ordered a half size, but my husband had no problem clearing the plate. He ordered the burrito - it was so chewy and flavorful. Soul bender beer was fantastic. I don't remember what my husband ordered but he also got a 4 pack to go. We ordered the cheesy rice for our toddler. Such a great brewery - hope they open one up in Detroit! Place is nice and beers are great. We have been here four or five times since it opened and always got good service: Tonight was a disappointment, Tamra is an inattentive and inept bartender. She ignored us at the bar once we got our beers--which took some time. I inquired about food and she walked away. Get rid of her; Zero personality. And her attire is worthy of a biker bar. I motioned to another girl and she just smiled at me like an airhead. Someone needs to screen applications better. The bar staff utterly sucks. Service was great and the food was even better! My husband had the special (breakfast hamburger) he said was awesome. I had the Ogma bowl with freshest, fantastic raw salmon, and all the other fun toppings kimchi, avocado, pickled cucumbers. Beer was also solid! We loved it here! What an interesting place. It was pretty busy when we arrived but we were able to sit up at the bar and talk to the beertender. This place has a very unique decor. Skateboards painted beautifully. Ogma is an Irish/Scottish god who is the god of literature and eloquence. I love learning about new things so this was a fun place to go. I'm not familiar with Irish mythology despite being Irish myself. We chose our beers and both very much enjoyed them. The tagabrew charm is also a skateboard which was fun and unique. I had been following Ogma Brewing for quite some time. I was so excited to see them finally open their doors. We stopped in here on our way back from Kalamazoo. We ended up sitting at the bar and talking to a few patrons. We learned a lot about the brewery. The beertender was fantastic and we were able to use our hop passport this visit. We also grabbed our tagabrews, a skateboard, which is symbolic for this brewery. I really appreciate when a brewery personalizes their tags. We are not huge IPA fans, but we did find a few beers to enjoy. If you are into IPAs this is the spot for you. They also serve food. The menu looks fantastic. We were not hungry, but couldn't pass up trying the creamy carrot & curry soup....ooohhh so good!. They also have the coolest mugs for their beer members. Ogma is new to Jackson and the city has been anticipating the opening for many years. I've been here twice now the first time was before the kitchen was open and the beer is pretty fantastic. They offer large pours for a reasonable price and you can join the mug club. The menu has many unique options and quite the variety of upscale bar food. We ordered the Braised Beef Nachos and Yama's Good Graces Vegan Bowl. The nachos were incredible - I wish we'd ordered the full size! The queso is so good. The curry was good for a brewery (I don't mean that rudely - I would not expect a brewery to have a coconut curry bowl at all!) but I did think it tasted a little "flat" for a curry - I usually think of curries as having quite a bit of depth in the flavor. I didn't drink - but the person I was with ordered the Doom Claw and said it was good! The service was wonderful and the staff was attentive. I love the feel of this place - it has an skateboard/metal vibe that's really fun and modern for the area. read more

The beer for tiny portion I ordered was 8 bucks which I guess is the going rate for hipster IPA and it was actually delicious. Not into the giant goat head or odd occult symbols but to each their own. If you're 30 or under this is probably your new hotspot but if you're older or bringing your family here after church service I wouldn't recommend it. The brewed beer is good though. read more
