Noticed this new spot while driving down Whittier Blvd. I guess it's been a while since I visited this area because it's new to me so decided to visit the very next day. The beer was good and the vibe was chill. The place was pretty clean with plenty of seating areas and the bartender was attentive. They seem to be pet friendly, they have a small front patio and a separate area/room which had a private event, so it left me curious to return and checkout to keep as an option for possible future event planning. I noted they don't sell food but have guest food vendors on occasion as well as live bands/music/DJ. They also have a point earning system and I believe a game night plus TV's to watch sports. My boss had a mixer at the brewery recently for us to kick off Thanksgiving Break. The brewery had both inside and outside seating. We came on a rainy day, so the outside seating was not available. Service was great! The team was friendly and very knowledgeable. They gave us a tour of the brewery which was really cool. I never knew that some beers could take several months to make and how many different processes there is. To drink, I had their guava seltzer. It tasted great. Stopped by here on a Saturday night for a quick drink. Has the michelada and it was delicious. The tajin rim was perfect and the beer to michelada mix ratio was perfect. Then we found out there was a Pizza pop up by Rockin Pizza Company so we ordered a pizza. The pizza dough was perfection and it was loaded with toppings. Brian the chef, was super nice and such a cool guy. He really know how to make a delicious pizza. Highly recommend having a Pizza with your beer. We came for an event here. The owners were so gracious to allow our group to set-up on the coffee tables. Afterwards, we enjoyed refreshments. My friends ordered beer but since I don't drink beer, I enjoyed their mango and peach drinks. Sorry, I forgot the name of the drinks, but they went well with the smashburgers and fries. Oh man, what can I say about this place. I've been here three times exactly just to give this place the benefit of the doubt. And it's unfortunate because I really wanted to like this place since it's not too far from college campus. this place feels more like a dive bar than a brewery. The servers are not too attentive and tend to favor the locals more. The first time I went I was rushed to get my beer since it was during the World Series the second time on my revisit, the beers aren't unique and taste pretty standard to what the majority of most breweries offer. Mind you there's only eight sometimes 10 beers on tap. The second time round I asked to taste a beer and I didn't get that option. It wasn't until the third time where I was given the opportunity for a small taste on a couple. Occasionally, there's food caterers outside. My buddy warned me about coming here since he's a local, but I tried just to give this place a fair shot. I ended up only drinking half of my beer then walked away after paying my tab. This place needs work, better customer service and hopefully more variety. read more

The kids played a giant Connect 4 game and banged a large drum. A men's softball team and their SOs were having a good time. None of this phased me as I was ready for some good brew. I sat at the bar with the food I brought in from The Chicken Koop across the street. Outside food is allowed in as Angry Horse serves only brew. Sometimes especially on weekends there is usually a pop-up taco stand, etc. set up out front. I tried Gettin' Warmer ($6 for a pint), an American stout (6.4% alc/vol). I thoroughly enjoyed it. It entailed "Hints of molasses and tobacco are balanced by notes of Meyer lemons and a smooth woodsy finish. Firm bitterness." The bartender laughed when I raised my eyebrows over the Strawberry Milkshake IPA. Lol. One of the owners came back over to me when she got busy and gave me a sample. While it wasn't something that I would personally purchase it wasn't bad. I opted to take home The Beast 4-can pack ($16.75). This Belgian Golden ale (8.5% alc/vol) was really good! We sat at the bar, but there are other tables inside and outside. They have a decent selection of beers. We started off with the Caballo Bravo. It's a blonde ale. It was my favorite. We followed it with Purple AF which was more like an IPA and had a slight fruitiness to it. It was good, but I preferred the Caballo Bravo. They also had some live music which was nice. It set the tone for the evening. They played a wide variety of music. They had everyone singing along and some people were dancing. It was a great evening. The service my family and I received yesterday was atrocious. I work in the industry myself and could not believe we were being treated so poorly, it was unbelievable. We had a reservation for a birthday celebration and we had 2 tables for the 30 guests we were expected to have only for the employee with blue hair to take the table away from us due to a mistake on their part and a band that was booked last minute. The reason we booked for last night 10/4/24 way in advance was because there were no events on the angry horse schedule. Our reservation was for 8pm and the reservation signs on the table said 6:30ish which is not at all acceptable. Her customer service was not helpful or acceptable she was rude and said "things happen". The band took our second table and let their guests take it and disrespect my family in the process. They released our balloons that we bought and brought to the location as well. My mom had to tell the rest of our party not to show up as there was no space for us like we requested in our reservation. All the girls working behind the bar had serious attitude and yelled at us while we waited for the people in front of us to move so we could order. I told them we were waiting for space so we could move up. Not okay at all. This place needs new employees or more training. Needless to say none of us will be back and our birthday celebration was ruined. read more
