The handcrafted dogs at Oh K-Dog are better than okay. Located in the first-level food court of the Penn Square Mall, Oh K-Dog specializes in a unique treat served on a stick, better known as a Korean rice hotdog, which has become quite the popular street food in its native Korea. Instead of the cornmeal found in your traditional American corn dog, Oh K-Dog uses a batter primarily made from rice flour, cornstarch, and yeast. This in turn gives Oh K-Dog's Korean-style corn dogs a more unique, chewy texture. What also makes Oh K-Dog's dogs so unique is that they have upped the ante with their fillings which include mozzarella and cheddar cheese, potatoes, and even squid. Since opening their first location in the metropolitan Oklahoma City area, they have become a top destination at the Penn Square Mall, and when locals insisted that we come with them during a recent shopping excursion, we were sold on trying a quick deep-fried treat. It was busy when we first arrived during the main lunch hour to the food court, but the wait times for our food and finding a table would subside. The menu at this location mainly consists of eleven options of their signature Oh K-Dogs, as it seems their Egg Sandwiches have taken a bit of a backseat, as had they been on their menu, we would have certainly ordered those as well. Our group of six just wanted to get a sample of what Oh K-Dog had to offer and we decided to order a variety of their signature Mozza dogs, two enveloped in Hot Cheetos and two with just the rice flour coating; and I personally decided to order their Chedda Dog. To complete our lunchtime meal, we also ordered a regular sized Pink Lemonade Slush. It would actually take quite a bit of time for our order number to be called out, so thankfully the table we did find wasn't too far away. Once we were able to receive our order, we looked at our five Oh K-Dog's and dove right in. We would appreciate the crispiness of each Oh K-Dog as the mozzarella cheese and rice flour based coating would make for the one of the most unique flavor profiles that I have enjoyed in quite some time. Thankfully, Oh K-Dogs also had a condiment bar with ranch, ketchup, garlic, honey mustard and even Sriracha among the featured flavors. This would help in enhancing the umami when enjoying our Oh K-Dogs, as the batter would be a considerably harder shell than we would encounter with your traditional corn dog. There were some pluses and minuses with the overall taste of our meal, but the quality of their hand-dipped dogs cannot be denied. This only made me want to return to Oh K-Dogs to try their non-menu meals of their Egg Sandwiches, which leads me to believe that they could be even heartier meals than their dogs. With a total bill of $41.29 for five dogs, two with an extra layer of Hot Cheetos and one drink, it was a considerable amount for the amount of food we enjoyed for this lunchtime meal. Horrible servic, i thought all the corn dogs had hot dogs in them and ordered a mozza dog. I didn't know it was gonna be full of cheese. I tried explaining that I'm lactose intolerant and can't have that much cheese and that I didn't know it didn't come with a dog. The cashier told me it was my fault and there's so sign saying that they are just full of cheese he was rude and unreasonable. i can't even eat or I'll throw it up. read more

I am not a person who goes to the mall for anything, and for me to go, I really wanted to try these corn dogs. I ordered all beef and a number 8 it had potatoes on it. The all beef hoyle dogs were good and usually all I ate, and yes, I got sugar added. Now, for the other one, I added sugar ,parmesan , and hot chili. The outside was good, but the actual dog was a turnoff. We had good service, and they were polite when they asked us questions. This trendy Korean style dog was WAY better than I expected! Pleasantly surprised! I got the half dog half mozzarella. It was served up piping hot. They asked if I wanted it covered in sugar but I passed (apparently this is popular in Korea). I do highly recommend topping and or sauces to enhance the flavor. I went with the cheesy mustard and sriracha. The K-dog is very crispy yet slightly chewy on the inside. The cheese was deliciously melty. The dog itself was good but not special. The Korean corn dogs here are killer, especially those with that super stretchy mozzarella cheese. These corn dogs are big, freshly cooked, with a crumbly coating I very much enjoy. And you can powder on seasonings or drizzle a number of sauces to gussy them up any way you want. I do wish their various mustards had more punch. Like their delicious sweet chili sauce. Donuts here are also seriously delicious. I've only had the maple one so far, but it was one of the best I've had. Inside is moist and custard-y with a great soft, chewy texture. The line can get long here, but they move pretty fast. Plus they have friendly and helpful employees that will happily answer any questions. What a great addition to the food court here. My family cant wait to go back. P.s. I do wish they had served the egg toast they advertise in their name. Apparently the kitchen is too small to accommodate that. read more

It's awesome that we are getting more Korean street food. We went with their Potato Mozza Dog and classic hot dog. I've never had these K-Dogs, so it was fun eating them. These corn dogs are made fresh to order, decent in size, and unique. The batter is crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. I appreciate the condiments that they give you to drizzle over the dogs. Since I'm more of a savory person, I'll get the K-dogs without the sugar-coating next time. Best Korean corn dog you will ever have! They are huge! I highly suggest the half mozzarella half dog with the potato on the outside. It's like eating a corn dog and fries all in one bite! My son usually enjoys corndogs. I was so confused on what to choose. I am not big on corndogs or mozzarella sticks, but came because we love to try new things and my kid picked it. This place is a nice idea, and the prices about $6.00 per dog/item or less. They are super crispy, and nice and hot when they come out. My son gave them a 3 out 5 because he said it was just okay. I agree, some of the combinations are a bit bananas to me, but I also saw nothing with eggs on the menu even though it's in the name of the business. I say come and try it at least once, but we probably won't come back unless we are just feening for a cheesy corndog. Lol read more

This is a fun experience if you're at the mall. I grabbed a potato mozza dog, and it was pretty good dipped in their honey mustard. My only complaint... I thought since it said "dog" that mine would have a weiner, however it was just potato and cheese filled. Still really good, but a bit rich. Wish it had some protein. Shocked at what I had a bite of! The corndogs are freshly made. I saw them unwrap the choice of their center, then the batter is put on, then either additional breading/crunchy stuff, then fried. Im not even a huge fan of corn dogs, mainly bc of the oily batter. But, the first bite, I was slightly shocked. My friend loves these and I wasnt sold yet. Now I can see why! The batter was really crispy and not oily at all! The batter was thick, slightly chewy, not doughy, but overall crispy. I like things that are suppose to be crispy, crispy. The sign with the name of the business clearly states "Egg Toast" but they don't serve egg toast. It's not even on the menu.
