The espresso was very tasty, and their espresso machine setup is genuinely fun to see. I also tried the tamago sando, which is a Japanese-inspired egg salad sandwich on Hawaiian shokupan. It was flavorful and pretty good overall, but $13 for an egg sandwich is a little hard to justify. The coffee is also on the pricier side, so this feels more like a treat than an everyday stop. That said, the staff was super nice, the ambiance is great, and it's definitely worth checking out if you want a cool coffee shop to work from or hang out in.

Depending on the baristas, you may even get some punk rock but that's never guaranteed. I've heard everything in here from indie to pop, as well. And if you want to be sipping and snacking during weekend brunch hours, well, be prepared for a packed house. Personally, I love it here on a weekday morning. There's plenty of tables and outlets and it's a little quiet. The baristas couldn't be nicer. Although there's not much for vegans on the menu, do check out the delicious baked good options in the display case because if they have the vegan strawberry cake, it's a must! I haven't had wine here, but if I were to do so, I'd take it outside because that area is so quiet and lovely, with plenty of shade. I'll be honest, the espresso isn't my favorite (think: bright rather than a deep roasted flavor), not because of any lack of effort or poor quality. Just my personal taste. I had their espresso tonic once and loved it, however, plus they have matcha. Hex, you put a spell on me. I felt compelled to return three times in just a few days.

I was pleasantly surprised by the items we ordered! We grabbed our food and drinks from the pick-up window and enjoyed the outdoor seating. Also, the iced matcha latte was the perfect shade of green. We didn't take pictures of the burritos, but they were a little smaller than I expected for the price, which cost between $8.25-$8.45. I can't really speak to the service because we ordered through the tablet and had minimal interactions with the baristas. However, I'm looking forward to coming back here to check out the indoor area, which we didn't really explore this time around. Smelly Cat Coffee is also conveniently located near a light rail station, if you ever decide to check this place out!

That's because they had a huge map outlining the historical trade routes that coffee beans were transported on, as well as an homage to some of the patrons of coffee cultivation. They backed up these historical displays with great customer service, a solid cup of coffee, and a truly mesmerizing ambiance. I've been to so many coffee shops in my life, and Qahwah House was the first time, if not ever, then definitely in a long time, that I felt like I experienced something unique. I loved it. Overall, I loved Qahwah House, and I'll assuredly be back as soon as I can. I'd also recommend it to anybody looking for something new to experience!

It's fresh, made to order, and a huge serving. I don't even drink the whole pot because that's just too much caffeine for me lol. I also really loved the savory pastries they have, very complimentary to their coffee. The service is very kind and they give you a buzzer to easily come pick up your order when it's ready. The ambiance was great the last time I went in. They had wifi available if I needed it, but it wasn't overpacked so I could work a bit when I first came in and then was able to still hear my friend when she came over. It has nicely spaced tables so you aren't as boxed in as you are in some of the other coffee places in this area. Overall, my favorite place to grab a Turkish coffee in Charlotte. Yummy coffee, nicely spaced tables, free wifi, good service, and not overly packed. My go-to coffee spot in Plaza Midwood!
