As an ice cream lover, Jeni's was a hit! I tried so many flavors but landed on the Gooey Butter Cake and the Buttercream Birthday Cake. I love that it smells like baked pastries inside. They do prepare fresh waffle cones and they even let me try it out. I definitely recommend the ice cream! It is flavorful and rich! Honestly they have so many great flavors. Went here after a nice dinner in noda and there was no line. Idt I've ever seen a Jeni's with no line. The employees were friendly and let me try a few different flavors. I ended up getting birthday cake and pistachio macaron ice cream which were absolutely delicious. This small ice cream shop has a lot of unique flavors to appeal to a variety of palettes. The staff was very friendly and did not rush us whatsoever. They allow customers unlimited samples and were very eager to help us. I tried the milkiest chocolate and buttercream birthday cake ice creams, both of which had an amazing flavor profile and left me smiling. Eat ice cream first! Those are words to live by. My friends and I came to this neighborhood for beers and food and we knew we wanted to try Jeni's. When we were down by another Jeni's off the train line the evening before, there was a line down the block. Being impatient New Yorkers, we don't like to wait so when we walked by this Jeni's and saw there wasn't a line, we marched right in and got some ice cream before we went for beers and dinner. They had a lot of flavors and when we got there, the lady behind the counter was flying solo so she was scooping like crazy. I liked my ice cream. It was really good but I'd heard so much about Jeni's that I was expecting a transcendental experience. I didn't experience that, but I can confirm it's darn good ice cream. There are seats outside of this location and a surprisingly sharp-edged kids play area (seriously, they have these cubes that kids were playing on and they seemed a little risky to me). By the time we left and headed down the block to Wooden Robot for beers, there was a line out the door so I'll remind you, if you want ice cream, just go ahead and get it if you don't see a line. read more

I love that this ice cream shop values quality over quantity. I get their kids or their "single" (which is actually two small scoops) and it is just perfect. 3 star review for Jeni's?! Hear me out... Are the flavors unique and the quality good? Yes. My beef with Jeni's is the portion size, price, and topping offerings. Two HALF scoops for nearly $7?! I'm sorry, what? If this was small batch, sustainable ice cream from a local goat or something that would make sense. It's not...it's a boutique national ice cream chain. I could get 4x the ice cream (or more) for the same price at Two Scoops AND I would be supporting a local biz. I can't help but feel ripped off every time I go here, which at this point will not be by my choice. Lastly, not having any toppings besides sprinkles is a lame ass cost cutting measure IMO. read more

Darkest chocolate - simple, smooth and very chocolatey. Green mint chocolate chip - not my style but hubby liked this one. Minty with a good amount of chips throughout. Gooey butter cake - the best flavor of the 3. Sweet and caramely. I did wish there were more cake pieces in this one. Overall, good quality ice cream and fresh, crunchy waffle bowl. I came here for the first time last week along with my daughter, my friend and my friend's daughter. I asked the staff members for a recommendation that was the closest thing to Butter Pecan which happens to be my absolute favorite ice cream flavor. They suggested I ordered the Brown Butter Almond Brittle, which I and it was delicious. This location is small and does get crowded very quickly especially if the outside weather is very warm. We sat outside and enjoyed our ice cream, my friend and her daughter live out of state and probably won't be back anytime soon but my daughter and I will definitely come back in the near future. read more

Also pro tip....if you go on your bday and show your id, you get a free scoop which is what I did. I got the brown butter almond brittle and man was it delish! Highly recommend! The Jeni's in Noda is surprisingly my favorite location so far. Don't get me wrong, the south end location will always be OG but...it's ALWAYS crowded. Anyways, my husband and I came here recently to get a few pints to go, and waited in line because we weren't sure which ones to get. After waiting in line for about 10 minutes (which felt long in the moment), I realized there were only 2 people working and everyone wants to taste multiple types so the wait made sense. After trying a few samples, we decided on 'Honey Vanilla Bean' and 'Salted Caramel Chocolate Chip'. Both were so stinking delicious. I know you're thinking...honey vanilla bean? That is the most basic ice cream I could have gotten. But, there's something about simple flavors that get me. It was a perfect hint of sweetness with the honey. After buying pints from here, we found out there's Jeni's pints in stores like Harris Teeter and Publix (except those could possibly generate frost on the top after being in the freezer for a long time). I doubt the pint would last that long in our freezer, so will get it from the bigger stores next time. The pints in store are $12 and wholesale, it's $8. Definitely recommend those 2 flavors though! read more

I've loved Jeni's since I was in college at Ohio State. Many ice cream places cater to chocolate lovers (not me), but Jeni's has unique non-chocolate flavors too. This was my first time coming to this location since the Yelp event when it first opened. I've been trying to get my hands on the Pumpkin Cake Roll ice cream since last year, but every fall when I try to get it, they're sold out. This time, I was in luck. I picked up a pint to go. I sampled a little bit of it and it's quite good (as expected). I also thought I would try their new banana cream pudding ice cream. I wanted a pint, but they were running low and couldn't do one. They were nice enough to give me a complementary scoop though. I thought it was pretty good. I'm not usually a big fan of their dairy free flavors, but I think this is one of the better ones texture wise. If you've never been to Jeni's, I'm not sure where you've been for the last couple of years, but you should fix that ASAP. read more

What's not to love about Jeni's, it's always a great time no matter which location or city I go to. My partner and I came to NoDa since it's one of my favorite areas in the Charlotte metro area, and I don't remember them being here in the times I've been. They have a huge area to hang out and enjoy your treats. This location is also conveniently located by the light rail, and there's also limited free parking on premise that's shared with the businesses in the strip area and residential apartments. Their setup is similar to any Jeni's where they sell merch, offer samples, sell pints, and they also show you what flavors they carry etc. I stick with my usuals since there wasn't a particular flavor that I'm like wow I need to sample. I ordered a waffle bowl with a scoop of darkest chocolate and a scoop of Texas Sheet Cake. I'd come back again since I love Jeni's, and the service was friendly and efficient.
