Cute little cafe tucked on main street. They are not open past 3pm. They did seat and serve us at 2:30 with no questions or complaints about our arrival. They have a variety of drinks including, kambucha. They a super dietary friendly..I got the gluten free crepe. My son got one of the sweet crepes.

Came here for a little pre-snowboarding breakfast while passing through Saugerties. We ordered their latte and savory special crepe of the day called the Shroomie. It was good especially the parts that were loaded with goat cheese. However, it could have been seasoned a lot better even just with salt and pepper. Wish there were also bottles of sauce at tables. Staff here was friendly but a little bit limited so service was okay.

Seems like this place was popular among the locals so thought we'd give it a try. We havent been in Hawaii in a few years so we thought we would order some Hawaiian food on the menu. Thus we ordered the Loco Moco and the Huli Huli Pork. The presentation was perfect for both dishes, however the Loco Moco was disappointing. While it was good, both the meat patty and the gravy was lacking an umami flavor that usually comes with this type of Hawaiian dish. As for the Hulu Huli Pork, it was so yummy! Reminds me of pulled pork. It greatly paired with the coconut rice which I wish I had a bigger portion of. Mac salad was average & hit the craving. This place is more known for their crepes. I probably should come back to give those a try. Service was lovely! Do be patient as they do cook all their food fresh!

Came here for the sandwich that I saw online that came with turkey bacon but I was sad to find out they no longer have turkey bacon, only regular bacon. I decided I didn't want to eat here, only have a drink. So I got this yummy sake passion fruit drink. I sat at the bar. There aren't many seating options inside. Like most of the shops in the area the seating is minimal. They had many drink options; cold, warm, latte, green, coffee, etc

    Lighthouse French Toast

We came here for breakfast on a Saturday morning and sat down right away. We ended up ordering a big kahuna croissant that was a fresh tasting croissant with plenty of egg and cheese but could've used a little more spam. We also ordered the lighthouse French toast, which is basically cinnamon rolls, but it tasted good with the syrup. Service was good even though they said they were short-staffed, but it seemed like everyplace in the town of Saugerties is short-staffed.

    Apple of my Eye crepe

Fantastic! We were in the area for a long weekend and ended up eating breakfast here twice because we enjoyed the food so much. The Apple of my Eye crepe is the perfect mix of sweet & savory! And they know how to make a mean iced latte.

The buckwheat crepe had a terrible spongy texture and came cold. Were they premade? Plus, the price was ridiculous for what it was.

Their menu is extensive and impressive; they have some all-star dishes on their permanent menu as well as a rotating daily menu with a legendary lineup of seasonal items. I really appreciate that they have dishes that are hard to come by such as lentil loaf and lasagna, and these never disappoint. The lentil loaf is unique; it is a little brick of lentils (not your traditional sliceable mush of breadcrumbs and minced veggies). It's very well seasoned and the tomato sauce on top is not overly sweet. The mashed potatoes and mushroom gravy and (very) garlicky greens make it a great meal. The lasagna is one of my favorite dishes. It's pasta-free and just made from layers of sliced zucchini and other veggies sandwiched with their delicious crumbly housemade cashew cheese. The herby tomato sauce is super flavorful. The side salad and garlic bread that accompany it are great also; an ultra comforting meal. We enjoyed the macro meal, although honestly not as much as the other dishes. The pan-seared tofu was delicious, but the arame seaweed salad was super seaweedy and salty - a bit much for me. I'm also not sure why they didn't serve it in a bowl, which would have made the rice etc. easier to eat. It seemed to be missing something - perhaps avocado, or a hunk of sweet potato. A few items at the Garden Cafe are a little perplexing, compared to how perfect most of their food is. The tempeh is just ok. It's heavily marinated in a sweet and salty sauce and kind of strange. Also disappointing that it's just a big brand tempeh rather than one of the local tempeh brands available in the area. The housemade focaccia is also bizarre. The texture made me think it was gluten-free (but it's not). Is it whole wheat?? If that's the case, awesome, but they should mention that on the menu, so you aren't taken aback when you don't get pillowy airy bread and instead get something flat and gray that could be mistaken for a biscotti. We LOVE the Garden Cafe and wish more places like this existed serving organic classic meals. We wish they would open a location in New York City, but until then, we will be making the drive!

Incredibly bummed, especially seeing all the positive press around the quality and the sourcing…read morethey claim to approach business with, that quite a lot of the food being served was from SYSCO or another large similar restaurant supply vendor, ordered by the case and baked from frozen. Now first off, don't get me wrong, buying in bulk or sacrificing the quality of some ingredients to large suppliers like this is definitely a reality when running a restaurant. Even moreso in this day and age when ingredient prices are exorbitant. That said, it needs to be reflected in the price point. Pastries are arranged beautifully under cloches in the display case, but I could spot the premade, ready-to-bake spinach feta bistro (https://www.chefswarehouse.com/products/QZ119984/) or ham and cheese croissant (https://www.chefswarehouse.com/products/99971/) from a mile away. The avocado spread on the preassembled breakfast sandwiches is definitely the pulp from the 3lb bag from Chef's Warehouse too. I know that taste! All of that said, they had a few items in the case that I'm sure weren't from one of these big vendors. Which was great to see. My (yes, unsolicited!) advice would be to pare down the menu. Offer just a bit less so you can focus on the quality. Try and tap into some local producers if you can! That's one of the best things about the Hudson Valley... how much all the purveyors and markets and cafes support each other. It's clear too how much they care about the community. They're dog friendly inside. No WiFi to encourage people to chat with one another. Fine. I really want to see this place continue to thrive, it's just a bit of a bummer that a significant part of the menu including things that really should be fresh, aren't.

Communication was seamless, they helped create a custom birthday cake with flavors I requested, and the entire ordering experience was smooth and stress-free. The food was outstanding. From the bread and cinnamon rolls to the focaccia and cake, everything was fresh, delicious, and a huge hit with our group. Every item felt thoughtfully made, and it was clear why so many people rave about their bakery. The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is the pickup experience. I had a prepaid order of over $250 scheduled for 8:00 a.m. pickup, right when the café opened. We arrived about 15 minutes early.. because it was raining and simply hoped to wait somewhere covered until pickup time. We weren't expecting the order early or asking anyone to rush. Given the size of the order, the custom cake, and the fact that I had brought someone with me to help carry everything, we just wanted to avoid standing outside in the rain. When I knocked on the door, I could see several staff members inside. One employee looked at us and gestured toward the clock, essentially pointing out that they weren't open yet. I completely understand that we arrived early, and I respect opening hours. What bothered me was how the situation was handled. A simple "We'll be open at 8" or "Sorry, we can't let anyone in until opening" would have been perfectly reasonable. Instead, the interaction felt unnecessarily cold. Even once we were inside, the employee helping us came across as dismissive and unwelcoming. It was especially disappointing because every interaction I'd had over email leading up to the event had been so thoughtful, friendly, and accommodating. The food was exceptional, and the planning process was excellent. I just wish the same level of hospitality had carried through to the pickup experience. Had that interaction been handled with a bit more warmth, this would have easily been a 5-star review. Ratings: * Food & ambiance: 10/10 * Communication email: 10/10 * Pickup Experience: 4/10
