I have not entered a contract with this fine individual. My review is on his consultation with me earlier this am! I was a bit upset about how our lawn was not quite completed the way I felt it should have been. Not really knowing about the lawn care biz - I felt a need to reach out and get a second opinion on how things are done locally versus where I grew up (east coast - ya did it yourself, or landscaper folks made dang sure things met your satisfaction before they left!)! So I yelped up 'landscaper' here in good ol' Yelp and up popped this wonderful business! So I gave a call. I politely explained how I was disappointed with how things had turned out - and just wanted to have a consult with him. The owner was very happy to come over, assess what was done, and to try to help me out! I guess also I wanted to ensure I'm not just being "that stupid lady"! *you know what I'm talking about* So he comes over - his first impression - the job wasn't done! He definitely encouraged me to straighten that out - and I will! But now to his business: Extremely knowledgable (I mean hello, he's in the business so he better dang well be!) To be honest - I cannot speak on pricing as it can ALL vary depending on what you want done! At a minimum he can charge $80 for lawn service (and I believe that is per visit), all the way up to $300 DEPENDING on what you need/want done. But the fact he took the time of day to help me better understand my lawn issues, and what follow up stuff I need to address with our current lawn maintenance folks (or hubby), THAT makes him stand out in my mind! :) He also even gave me some easy tips for some typical pesky nuisances around here for my fruit trees! Also gave me some cost saving efforts to attack the never ending battle of the weeds - something I really do appreciate. THAT speaks MILLIONS to me of how this guys work ethic is! If things don't necessarily pan out with our current lawn folk - I just might come to this guy! read more

UPDATE: found out I've been overcharged because I've found services that are cheaper and do way more! So I really should thank these guys for pushing me to look elsewhere! Doo doo still left in my yard not once but TWICE! Didnt even touch it actually. Did they jus weed wack around it? Lol, im confused. Anywho, Im a customer for a while now. At FIRST, yes, they were excellent and attention to detail. But they definitely aren't consistent and its a shame because I really love to support locals n their businesses. The last straw was when they refused to come monthly instead of every two weeks. I guess they don't want to "work" n jus have "quick" fast kine cleaning. They blame their "schedule and amount of the customers" for the rush, (what good business "blames" customers?) They also seem "not to care" if you cancel their inconsistent service, so already that tells me all I need to know. Im jus bummed to lose them, but they leave me no choice. read more

Sam & Norman were really willing to work with me and my budget to figure out how to get most of my lawn service cares taken care of in a way that would be affordable to me. They just completed their first major service (my lawn and landscaping had been neglected for a while) and I'm very happy with how it turned out. I've scheduled for them to come every other week for a very affordable and reasonable rate. Hopefully it'll be much less work for them ongoing and I can find time to get to anything that they don't (or pay them for additional services). Bottom line is they've done an excellent job, for a reasonable rate, and are willing to listen to your concerns and work together with you. read more

When they come to our house the survey things that need to be picked up: one-man canoes, put the dogs in the house before they begin to clean anything! We recently moved into a home that came with a jungle along Keolu hillside. If you know the area, you'll know what I'm talking about. The yard has been last on the priority list since there are major house things to be done. This totally bothered my very go-getter husband, so I decided to surprise him and get someone to come out and tame the jungle. Norman came and gave me a quote within 24 hours of calling him, and scheduled for a crew to come out the next week. They arrived nice and early this morning and got right to work. Their name says it all-they really are Ohana. They paid attention to my 4 year old son and he was in heaven watching them work. Other yard service companies smoke and swear while working but not them. Extremely efficient, clean, kind, and really know what they're doing. I moved into a new house on the bay drive and needed a lot of work done in the yard to get ready for my house warming party. Ohana was able to squeeze me in for a consult the same day after regular work hours. The consult was informative and resulted in a fair price. I signed and they came by to do the work a short time after. My yard looked great when they were finished and i keep it looking great as one of their regular yard service customers. I'm not going to be able to recommend them. I used them for nearly 2 years for monthly service, small lot in Kailua. Always paid my bill on time. With only a week notice - they informed me they would only do bi-weekly service (doubling my cost) in a take it or leave it offer. I would have been willing to pay more - but double? No notice (well, 1 week) - it was just odd they left me high and dry. read more

After the glowing reviews, I contacted the owner to come by and give me an estimate. I had already received four other estimates from other yard services. He quoted me an estimate 550% higher than the highest of the other quotes. On top of that he wasn't very personable or eager to take on the job. read more
