My first time boarding any dogs and it couldn't have gone better! From the front desk to the playground every employee was extra helpful and sweet to my babies. I love that they posted pics every day in a FB group so I could see them with their new friends. After 4 days I went to pick them up. They were super happy to see me but ran right back to the girls who cared for them. I think if I had walked out they might have wanted to stay. They thanked me for bringing them and told me they really enjoyed them!! My dogs both were fine when we got home. No signs of stress. Not super tired or super active. We're so glad to have found a great place to board our dogs! After calling a few places in the area, Board Bungalow really showed up for our dogs! Stella is not a fan of other dogs besides her brother, and shockingly a lot of places around the area do not accommodate that. I started to feel a little defeated when calling around and everyone was telling me she couldn't be boarded there, so I was so so grateful to finally have found BB. Our smaller dog Brody takes meds and they made sure to keep up with those for us too, and provide suites for our dogs to stay together. Oh! They're also awesome because we had to leave town a day earlier than expected and when I called them hoping they'd have room for them to come a day early, the made it work for us! That was a huge stress relief. They also offer a lot of different services too, so it was nice to be able to get the dogs nails trimmed too, and will definitely utilize their other groomer services in the future. Before I left someone told me about their fb group where they post pictures of the dogs playing everyday. It gave me something to look forward to and I was glad to see them having a good time there. Another thing that was nice was when I picked them up all of their things I brought in to them was labeled. That was a such a small touch, but it's nice to know that they make sure all of their things have their names on them so they don't get misplaced or accidentally go home with someone else. We will obviously be back to board our dogs in the future. We have taken our dog here for years! Never had any issues, Maggie loved going! I am not sure if ownership or employee turnover changed - but we will never be back. This happened twice in 2 years - and we go several times a year. Yesterday I picked up my 15 year old dog covered and matted in her own urine. She smelled so horrendous, we had to bathe her as soon as we got home and had to groom her the next day. She was damp, matted and looked like a sad dog that had been on the street for the last 6 days. This was not something that just happened, she most likely had been soaking in it for days. She felt so gross to even touch and hold her. It took the groomers to actually get the smell off of her. I scheduled a bath - but they didn't give her one, which is how I picked her up like this. Thank goodness, because looking back - I imagine this happened more often than not, but she typically has a bath before coming home, so we didn't see it. She is an older dog on meds for urinary incontinence. However, as long as she takes her meds and she is taken out regularly she doesn't have an accident. But even if she did have accidents - I expected these people to treat her as their own. And if your own dog soaked in their own urine, you would bathe them. Even if I didn't schedule one - you would bathe them. I've been going long enough - everyone knows my dog there - that they could of easily talked to me about frequent accidents and having to bathe her often. But not a single person has ever mentioned her having accidents in her kennel. So my assumption is they leave her in her kennel more often than they should (they are supposed to be out and play almost all day) and this has happened more than I am aware. All in all - it's inhumane, horrible and clearly the employees / owners don't care for the animals the way they should. Do as you wish but I do NOT recommend The Boarding Bungalow in Frisco. read more

I boarded my rescue yorkie here while I was on vacation for 6 days. She had private play time because she's scared of other dogs. I usually give my dog filtered water because it lessens the frequency of her seizures and they called me because she ran out and offered to go buy her some bottled water if I wanted them to, so thoughtful of them! I dropped her off with her bed and blanket to keep her comfortable and they told me she peed on them and they washed them for me! I also think they bathed her because she usually gets watery eyes and her coat felt fresh when I picked her up. I was running late because my flight was delayed so I called and they said it was fine if I showed up a little after 7. Really appreciate the flexibility and prices are super reasonable for the extra care your animal will receive. read more

Horrible experience. I booked my dog to stay here for 10 nights as we had a trip coming up. I called a couple of days after booking it to cancel because my husband became very ill with Covid so we ended up having to cancel our trip. They said I was welcome to use the credit on the account for a different time but refused to give me any of my money back (which was almost $400). I explained that we are not traveling anytime soon and I would prefer a refund and they still refused. Owner is a joke, she avoids any and all contact with customers. This was our first and last time to board our puppy at this place. The reason for the one-star review is centered around one thing and one thing, only: putrid, lazy and dismissive customer service. Being first time customers with a new dog, we had high hopes for this place. In fact, our vet recommended them, so we felt pretty comfortable taking our doggo there. We completed our forms online and the drop-off process was smooth. The employee at the front was friendly enough. She couldn't figure out the credit card machine, but all was fine. The problem arose when we went to pick up our doggo. We got back from our mini vacation a little early, so we thought we would go ahead and pick her up. Since this was our first time at this boarder, we weren't exactly sure of their Sunday hours. My wife, 2 kids (7 and 8) and I were excited to see our dog a little early. We arrived at the place at 10:05. The door was open and there was a guy sitting at the front desk, apparently loading pictures to their Facebook page. The four of us walked in and were greeted by this guy who said, "oh, gee, man, I had a new hire starting today and I didn't lock the door." We said, "oh, didn't know you weren't opened yet, but I'm sure it wouldn't be a problem picking up our dog, since you open in less than an hour and we are all here." The guy said, "well, I can go get her if you want to pay an early pick-up fee." What??? Are you friggin kidding me??? An early pick-up fee when you are here, we are here, and you are 50 minutes from opening. You have got to be kidding me. I asked him again and he said he would HAVE to charge us. We were PISSED and our kids were absolutely sobbing. So... we get back around 11:10 and the same guy greets us with a, "hey! You guys are back", and a "groovy schmoovy", while singing Queen's "Radio GaGa". This guy was about 7 apples short of a bushel. Bottom line: don't give your money to businesses who don't have the ability to assess an easy situation and do absolutely the wrong thing. There are plenty of places to board your dog in Frisco and for, on average, $10 less/night. Update on 7/14 After hearing from the district manager back when we first boarded our dog, we decided to give Boarding Bungalow another chance. The management made everything right for us and took care of the obvious personnel issue they had, so we felt it was right to try them again. Bottom line: we are damn glad we did. While vacationing for a week, we were able to "check in" on our pup with all of the great pics and videos they placed on the FB site. Our doggo looks happy in all of the pics and was having a blast. The staff is amazingly-friendly and our dog came back to us happy, clean and with perfectly grounded nails. We are so incredibly pleased with the service recovery here. We brought our son's wild Husky dogs here for a week's stay. The place was very clean and smelled fresh. They have a glassed in play area for the larger dogs and the three dogs in there looked happy to be there. We came back a week later to pick up the pups and they were very happy to see us and seemed like they had a fun stay. The folks here are animal lovers, as we are. Its always easy to spot people who really care for animals and this place is that! read more

We recently boarded our small dog for 4 days. It was a great experience and a better value and environment than our previous boarding location. The base daily rate includes 6 walk/play-time sessions which we think is great. Our dog loves playing with others. Our dog came home happy and in great condition. An unexpected bonus- they sent us a link to an online photo album of about 30 different shots of our dog playing inside and outside. A very nice touch. read more

I will NEVER use this boarding service ever! They refused to give us our deposit back, when they put strict criteria regarding one of our pets who has some health issues. We don't blame them for that, but our vet refused to do what they wanted as it would put our dog's health in jeopardy or cause us to pay for very expensive tests that the vet deemed non confirming and ridiculous. When we canceled our reservation, no one advised us at that time that we would lose our deposit, even though we gave notice a week in advance. this is a great place to take your dog for daycare or boarding. I have been taking my dog Boney here for almost a year. The staff is wonderful they give lots of affection and care to Boney. Dogs are taken out to play in small groups or if you prefer, they will let your dog out for a solo walk i.e no play group. Between walks dogs are in their own suites so they are safe and comfortable. I frequently take Boney here for daycare and boarded him for several days recently. The staff posts picture of the dog daily on facebook and you can see your dog there weather he's there for daycare or boarding. Love this place. Keep up the awesome job Boarding Bungalow! read more

I am so HAPPY I found the Boarding Bungalow for my dog. He is a little anti-social and very timid around other dogs. However, the care takers at Boarding Bungalow know how to work with him time & time again. They are my go-to boarding location! They are patient with my dog and give him the care and love he needs while I'm away. Every time I pick my dog up from there, I can tell he has been in good hands. They even give a "Pawgress Report" to let me know how he did during his stay. As long as I'm in the area, they will always be my boarding location of choice. read more

I took my dog here this past Friday and picked him up on Sunday. I noticed in the pics they posted on Facebook that he looked a little sad, but I figured it was only stress. When I went to pick him up, I noticed his bum was stained after I got home. I didn't think too much of it until he had diarrhea that night as well as Monday, really bad. I took him to the vet Tuesday morning, and I called boarding bungalow to check if there was anything abnormal with him. The girl on the phone said he had diarrhea the whole time and left a note for someone to let me know, but I was never informed. Why didn't someone call me? He's only 5 pounds and had I known this had been going on since Friday, I would have taken care of it ASAP. He is now dehydrated and had to get treatment from the vet. I will never take my dog to stay at this location again due to the negligence from staff that caused my dog's health to worsen. read more

When my family is out of town, we take comfort knowing that Boarding Bungalow will be taking care of our dogs. It is very stressful leaving our pups because they are a big part of our family. Our dogs, Sam and Lucy are happy and healthy when they enter and when they leave. I have a Belgian Malinois and a border terrier, large and small breed dogs. My Belgian is ball driven and is very active. Finding a boarding facility that I can trust with him is peace of mind. The staff is very friendly and know my dogs well. Positive: clean facility, they will give you a tour of the facility, pup came home happy and didn't seem to mind being left there. They were kind enough to keep her free of charge for a couple hours to get her adjusted to the place before I left for 5 days. I think staff takes good care of the animals. Negative: Pay very close attention to their nonrefundable deposit, cancellation policy and 2, 2-hour Sunday pick-up window policy (you will be charged $16 for 4 hours if you miss the window - even if you tell them you cannot be definitive about what time you can pick -up your pet.) They aren't very flexible but inspire that, if the communication from the staff been better we might not be parting ways. The first time I kenneled my dog I was gone for 5 days, I called to check on my dog and never got a callback. The second time I kenneled, the additional $16 charge sent me over the edge. ALL of it could have been avoided if the staff had been more communicative (returned my call, told me there was a price difference for each Sunday pick-up window or informed me my dog didn't eat the bones I left - which she devours at home. I should have asked the first time all the bones came back home but unfortunately, because I was starting to think negatively of the facility, I jumped to the assumption they didn't give them her.) I'm disappointed to be on the search again for a kennel I trust and that doesn't nickel and dime their customers. read more

Let me start by saying, I was SO nervous to board my rambunctious puppers. Maybe its just me being an over-protective dog mom, but I was honestly a little scared at the thought of leaving my dogs in a kennel all weekend (and over Christmas, how dare I!) I have had some horror story experiences with dog sitters in the past, so maybe that added to my apprehensions, but after all is said and done, I am satisfied and will most definitely be boarding them at the Boarding Bungalow again. My husband and I live in Austin, so there was really no way for us to take a tour of the space aside from the pictures online. Initially, I had called to ask some questions and request a suite over the holidays. My questions were answered tactfully and I pulled the trigger and put down a deposit. From there, a week or so of radio silence, and then I got an email reminder to provide them with vaccination records and fill out the registration form. I had a few more questions, which I asked via email, but the responses were a little alarming. At this point, I think it was just a miscommunication, but I got nervous again. The manager saw the communications, reached out to me personally in response, and even sent me pictures and reassured me that everything would be perfectly fine. I am thankful for that, and confident that they really do care and take great care of people's pets. Boarding Bungalow posts daily pictures of your pets stay on their facebook page, and I even got a little (funny) email update. A nice way to stay in touch, for sure. Once we picked them up, they slept literally (and I mean LITERALLY) the entire way back to Austin.... and then well into the next day afternoon. They were so tuckered out, so I know they got plenty of exercise. Overall, I would recommend boarding here, I know I will again for sure! read more

It always smells so good in there. Which is rare for a doggie hotel. Shows that they really keep the place clean and stay on top of hygiene. The staff is very friendly and knowledgable. I spent some time talking to Alisha and she recommended foods, vets, and general care for my dogs sensitive skin. I love their location as well. Easy in, easy out. We used the boarding bungalow multiples times over the past year. This included a couple long weekends for trips, and almost daily while we were in the process of selling our house. They were absolutely amazing, we saw multiple pictures of our child online, they gave her Christmas presents, and even made a paw print ornament for our Christmas tree. They really care about the dogs and made sure we felt good about leaving her there. They just need to open a location in South Carolina and we would be even happier. read more

I'm rating this as 3 stars for just being mediocre - NOT "bad" by any means, just average. My hubby and I boarded our doggies here this past weekend and my dogs were alive when all was said and done so that's a definite plus. Also - they got us in SUPER last minute on a holiday weekend which was fantastic!! I'm not quite sure if my dogs got a lot of exercise... they were wild and crazy when they got home which is atypical after a usual stay in doggie hotels. Also - when we went to pick them up, they didn't voluntarily offer up details on their stay.. I had to ask how the dogs were and all the very young girl dressed like a hooters waitress offered up was a simple "fine.". I don't know if the dogs behaved, or played with other dogs, or ate their food...nothing. I kind of like a run down of some sorts, but maybe our regular kennel just has us spoiled. And maybe I'm a crazy dog mom. ;) All in all, I would use this kennel again, I would just be more upfront about the fact that I like to know a LOT more about what's going on when my dogs are there for an extended period. read more

I haven't actually been to Boarding Bungalow, but was very impressed when one of their employees brought a client's cat to our veterinary facility. The cat needed a health certificate for air travel due to a family emergency and Boarding Bungalow did all they could to help the owner prepare. read more
