Jerry has made some improvements in recent months and now his business seems to be running more smoothly. The old adage, "You get, what you pay" applies here. Although the prices are not too bad, the service (use the term very loosely): well, let's just say that you'd better have a LOT of patience! He is a one-man outfit. Although very personable and his truck is "tops", he is way over his head and takes on much more than he can produce. He promises appointments and does not live up to them; he promises finishing dates that he cannot meet. You must keep calling and leaving messages (the final one was threatening to call BBB and Consumer Protection) before he ever finished job. He claims he called but calls did not show up on phone log (?). He quoted $273 and change, when I gave hime $280. he did not think twice of giving change NOR receipt. It took all of 5 and a half weeks to complete the job of ONE screen door. Maybe he should think of hiring a helper?????? read more

We contacted Jerry at Ohana Screen Master on a Tuesday. Asking if he could come and repair most of my window screens. We contacted him because he had done a good job for many of the units in my building 9 years ago. He schedule an appointment with my friend who is staying with me at the moment, to come the next day (Wednesday) between 10am to 12pm. My friend made sure to clear his schedule so that he could be at my place since I was working. Jerry no call, no showed. When my friend called after 12pm had passed with no Jerry, he was given a new time of 3pm to 5pm. The reason given was that he was really busy with another big job. My friend adjusted his schedule yet again. Then 5pm came and went, still no Jerry - again, no call no show. Around 7pm Jerry finally made contact, to say he and his worker are still at the big job site and probably wouldn't be able to make it out until really late, like after 9pm. My friend said to go ahead and come, because not only did we really need the screens repaired, but Jerry had said that he can turn it around in 24 hrs, which would help me because without all of my screens, I can't open the windows due to bugs - which makes it very stuffy during the day for my dog. He and his worker finally showed up somewhere around 9:45pm -- 9 1/2 hours later than originally promised. He was very friendly did say that he was on this other "big job". He took all the screens and said he couldn't get them done by Thursday (the next day) seeing as how it was so late, and I told him I understood that. He said he'll get it to me by Friday, and would come between 5 and 7pm to install the repaired and new screens. My friend couldn't be at my place at that time, so I asked my 75 year old father to wait at my place. Jerry no called and no showed AGAIN. And then when we tried to follow up with him multiple times to find out where he was, his voicemail was full. Finally after 8pm, Jerry contacts to say he can't make it out, as he's still on this big job. 3 hours my Dad was waiting before Jerry thought to call and say he can't come out after all. He showed no concern for his client and how inconvenienced we were, and no concern about how to make it right. Then at 9pm that evening he texts: "Sorry, I shouldn't have taken your job because I have been very busy with already scheduled jobs. Furthermore, nobody on this island would get a job done in such a short period. I worked on your screens until 10pm last night. I understand they are small screens, but because of the wicket, they take longer than a regular screen frame. Unfortunately, I am still on a job at this time." I replied and said to save him from having to come to my house - I said just text me about what time you'll be in to your shop in the morning, and I can come and get them and install them myself. That was sent immediately after he sent his message. He never replied. Then the next morning, at 930am, he texts me that he's in Waianae (i.e. he had already gone to his shop and didn't bother to text me to pick up my screens), and that he'll text me when he's back at his shop. At that point, I was so appalled that I immediately asked my friends for recommendations of alternate screen folks. I found a great one, he was super responsive, came, and unlike what Jerry believes, this guy worked on my screens and turned them around in one day and by the next day they were installed and working great. Meanwhile, the NEXT DAY, he texts me at 2pm, to tell me he's leaving Wahiawa to do a job in Manoa, and has my screens in his truck and he can drop them off. I told him I don't need them anymore and I couldn't wait for him so I found someone else to do it. Then he sends me the following: "I SPENT 8 HOURS REDOING YOUR SCREENS WITH GREAT CAUTION, AND YOU DO THIS TO ME. I kept your screens from Wednesday late at night, and they are ready n ow. That's 3 days only! Good luck getting your screens within 3 to 4 days with someone else. This is very ungrateful." Missing the point ENTIRELY. Here's the problem: (1) the day of coming to take the screens - he was 9 1/2 hours beyond his given window. (2) he took the job and said he could do it within 24 hrs - it's not my problem/fault that he over-committed, yet he made it my problem and was unapologetic. (3) Horrible communication - I understand emergencies arise, but COMMUNICATE timely, not only after we have to chase you. The multiple no-calls and no-shows with no apologies and only concern for himself and his big job (which turned out to be multiple jobs) was horrible customer service. (4) And he has the nerve to call me ungrateful after we waited a combined total of over 12 1/2 hours during appts that JERRY scheduled (i.e. his time frame, not ours), and that if we had just continued to wait, by the time he texted me on Sunday, it would have been another 24 hours plus, of waiting with no texts/communication about what's happening. If I could put ZERO stars i would! Made an appt. with him a week ago. on that appt he was 2 hrs late with no call. I was mad but gave him a chance for his estimate. He was nice and the price sounded ok so I gave him the job. The day before he was supposed to come, I moved all the furniture in front of all the windows they were going to work on. I made sure they had plenty of space so they could work. I called him an hour before they were supposed to come, and usually I don't call to make sure they remember, but because he was a couple hours late the first time, I told myself I better make sure. So I call him and right off I can tell he don't remember. He said he's not finished another job and that if we can make an appt for another day. I was really upset so just wanted to warn others out there. read more

Jerry and his crew replaced my lanai screens at the Diamond Head Lanai in Pualei Circle and did a great job. The screens were 17-foot tall...so it was no easy job! They did three of the panels in a short amount of time and for a fair price. If you live in the Diamond Head Lanai condo, Hawaii Screen Master is the only guy you need to call. read more

Jerry came to my rescue! My glass sliding door wheels and metal tracks were worn down and broken. I called many screen door and sliding door companies that i found on the Web or Yellow pages. Many companies didn't want to come out, had a two week waiting list, only repair their own products, or didn't return my call. I guess business is so good, companies can be selective. I needed this repair done right away, since the glass door could not lock, and i have a tenant moving in within days. Jerry not only answered the phone, he was at the apartment within three hours repairing the door. Jerry and his helper worked into the night (8:00 p.m.) until the door could lock/secured and rolled smoothly. He returned everyday for 2 days to replace the metal door tracks, install new wheels, repair window screens, clips, and made me a brand new screen door. Great workmanship, fast service, and he only points out the needed repairs. Jerry is honest, polite, and stands by his promises. The bill came out to be such a fair price for the amount of labor and parts my apartment needed. I hardly write reviews, but I have to give an A+ for a great business and give props where it is due. I would gladly use Jerry again and wish him, and his hard working crew the best. I'm one happy customer. Mahalo. read more

I had Ohana Screens and door repair my Lanai windows 3 weeks ago but after about a week later 1 of the windows started to bind so I called Jerry about what type of spray lubricant to use and he told me of a specific type to use and that he carries that type of product,and I told him I would like to purchase that spray lubricant,He then told me he would be in my area and would be at my place in a couple of hours,so I waited and waited and he never showed up or even called back.The next morning I called again and was told for sure he would get back to me,again NO SHOW or return call,I would never recommend this lousy company to anyone,He does shoddy work so people beware.I was going to recommend his work to my neighbors in my building but after this I think not.He has no courtesy or respect to his customers. read more

I was referred to them by another company. Jerry is a busy guy so we played phone tag for a little bit but he ended up doing work on my sliding door that is ceiling to floor. I hated opening this door because it was so hard to open, now it just glides open. He and his staff were very nice. I would recommend them for sure! read more
