This review is ONLY regarding the gluten-free and vegan options. The regular donuts are fine! I was told they do not have vegan donuts, period. They do have 2 vegan ice cream choices, but i did not try. They have a gluten-free donut, but they are small er than the regular donuts. I would NOT recommend for GF or vegan donut options. Parlor donuts is the joint for Gluten-free, dairy-free and even keto. To the business owner: The very first thing I asked the young lady at the counter was if you had vegan donuts, and SHE said YES. We went back and forth and back and forth and she said she would ask but turned back around and said she was confused and there were no vegan donuts. Hence in my review I said they have no vegan Donuts period. I plainly said in my review this was only concerning GF and vegan and stated they have vegan ice cream options and stated, but I did not try. You can't tell a reviewer how to review the products. I did not at all mention the service, but now that you want to open that can of worms, the service is lacking, and apparently, it's from the top down. I never said you claimed to have vegan. I am reviewing and directing my comments to those who are looking for GF and vegan options. My review stands!

These donuts were delicious! When we went in, the person working there was patient and kind, and we didn't feel rushed in making our selections. My favorite was lemon raspberry, and my kids seemed to really like fruity pebbles (of course!) and the chocolate. Our donuts were ready quickly and were delicious.

What a great spot in the neighborhood! I was pleasantly surprised by all the customizable options as well as the specialty donuts they had on the menu. Since it was my first visit I went with a specialty donut and one seasonal donut, but I preferred the specialty option (a blueberry cheesecake). They were both made fresh to order which was incredible. I was also pleasantly surprised by the size and quality of donut for the price. We found a picnic table right outside the store in a grassy area and enjoyed our donuts outside. I will definitely keep this place in mind for a future dessert or morning treat!

I finally made it to Ohana and I was pleasantly surprised. The tiny shop was decorated with a beach vibe. I normally don't like cake donuts but since they were fresh out of the fryer, they were so good. I placed an online mobile order and it was ready right when I got there. My only complaint is that my vanilla latte as not very good, it didn't have much flavor. Also since I ordered a big box of donuts and they are fresh, some of the glaze started to melt off by the time I took them home.

4 stars. Solid cake donut... and that means A-LOT coming from someone who believes yeast reigns supreme. You know it's good when you can eat one plain - no frosting, no toppings, just donut. It's got just the right amount of sweetness. Now, they lost half a star because the plain ones cost the same as the fully loaded ones. Why, Ohana? And the ice cream is pricey, too. Definitely not a low-cost treat option, but what is right now? The breakfast sandwich is really tasty, but they only have American cheese. This item could be elevated by offering a natural cheese option, preferably cheddar. Service is great. They greet customers with a smile as they enter and a friendly 'thank you for coming in' as they leave. That kinda stuff is important to me. WiFi here is solid - it's becoming one of my preferred spots when I need a change of scenery from my home office. And it's locally owned!

I only got 4 donuts but the box was super heavy because these boys are loaded. Soooooo fresh and tasty. Finally a donut place with very creative flavor combinations I haven't seen elsewhere. They taste better than they look (they had to survive the drive), and the customer service was awesome. The puppy chow donut is just??? Everything I ever wanted. Definitely recommend.

First thoughts...super disorganized. Lots of young people working I guess it was controlled chaos. The dounut board with the shelf : there isn't any signage to say what you are suppose to do. A few sheets of paper laying on the shelf and a bowl of pencils. We didn't notice it till we actually already ordered. Dole whip was exactly like what we had at The Dole Plantation in Hawaii. Tasted like a fresh pineapple. Maple bacon breakfast sandwich. I should have gone without the maple drizzle. It put way too much sweentness on top. The bacon on top was great and the dounut itself was not overly sweet. It is a good size for a sandwich. It could have been hotter. We got two dounuts. One with vanilla icing with oreo and one with chocolate icing with chocolate sprinkles. I shouldn't have left this decision to my husband because he will always go for something chocolate. The dounuts alone were good totally different texture than the typical cake dounut. The toppings do add the sweetness the dounut lacks alone. I'd get something other than chocolate next time. Young man working was very friendly and engaging with the customers. I think he is part of the family that owns the shop. I do have one concern if you have nut allergies. The toppings were in open square containers right next to each other on a counter behind the cashier/display. Last thought. The sidewalk outside the store front could use a power washing and some sprucing up.

Usually I have an good experience here but today I got my smoothie and the lady did not put strawberry in it only peach, then while I was drinking it I kept tasting pieces of plastic in it after every sip, there was also something black in my smoothie as well.

Sometimes I'll grab donuts for my crew at work, so I decided to get some from far away. This place seemed to have good reviews and great options. I've had many donuts in my time but nothing like this. The inside was modern and comfortable with ice cream, coffee, and donuts. What's not to like? I ordered 8 donuts of varying selection. Based on my coworkers reactions, these are some of the best donuts they have had IN THEIR LIFE. I agree with them. I'd recommend these donuts to anyone passing through Fishers.

Ordered a couple dozen donuts to take into work and these were a HUGE hit! There are so many possibilities I asked them to just give me an assortment and you can tell by the picture they did and amazing job! I swear these are some of the best cake donuts around. Make sure you have a fresh hot cup of coffee or some milk on hand though, these little guys are rich, but oh so good!

Family and I went to Ohana's for a mid day snack. There was a small line but the employees did their best to make sure everyone felt welcomed and understood all the different options on their menu. We ordered their breakfast sandwich with bacon and all the fixing, a dole whip float, dole whip ice cream, and a donut sundae. All were a huge hit with my family. My kids were devoured their treats and they split the breakfast sandwich. The only time I've had Dole Whip is when we are visiting the Disney Parks, the version that Ohana makes is on par with Disney's DW. My son was asking for more treats to eat on the road . Overall, it was a great experience, can't wait to go back and try other items on their menu.

Looking for fun donuts? You've come to the right place! Ohanalulu has several different icing flavors and toppings like cereal and candy that you can mix and match in several different delicious combinations. The base donuts are great too--they're cake donuts which adds to the overall mouthfeel. They're not just a donut place--they have several ice cream flavors and also serve dole whips (like at Disney!). One of my favorite local pizza places, Passione, is also around the corner. This would be a good dessert option after dinner there!

I was very skeptical at first, usually the customized make your own donut places are not very impressive. But this place actually was amazing, the donuts are all custom made to order, and they were very soft and delicate and full of flavor. I've been to Hawaii probably six or seven times and this was not reminiscent of donuts that I've had an away. But good catchy name! read more

I've heard such great things about Ohana donuts and had high expectations. We went in on a Monday morning and it wasn't crowded. We asked the woman at the counter what the most popular donuts were to get some ideas and she pointed to the wall with the menu and said any of them were popular. I was hoping she would've given us a little more guidance, but she didn't seem very open to conversation and didn't smile to greet us or anything. We picked the maple bacon donut, vanilla sprinkle donut, and a bacon/egg/cheese donut sandwich. The donuts are made to order, which is a cool concept, and I didn't realize this when ordering, but there is a create your own menu so you can mix and match any of the icings and toppings. We did not see that menu until after we ordered, otherwise we may have tried that! The cake donuts were great - not dry, crunchy on the outside, and a good flavor. The icing was very sweet, almost too sweet to finish a whole donut. My husband noticed that the bacon egg and cheese for his sandwich was microwaved, and said it tasted okay but he would not get the sandwich again. We also got the iced white mocha and iced caramel macchiato. It looked like pale milk, with just a hint of coffee, which was disappointing. Maybe it was just a case of the Mondays, but if we return to Ohana, we will skip the coffee and sandwich, maybe do a create your own donut instead, and hope for friendlier service! read more

I should start by saying my husband HAD to try Ohana's! Like the night he discovered it on yelp! So we went. I'm not a big donut person but the idea of a donut sundae was definitely something I'd give a try. They have awesome options for Covid - online ordering (although I tried several times and could not get it to work) and curbside pickup. I ended up calling and placing my order over the phone which worked really well. It was ready just about the time we arrived. The donut sundaes are definitely impressive and good looking! Something everyone should try! I can't say the donuts or ice cream stood out to us as being better than other places but it is definitely a cool place for sure and I'm really happy to hear they are doing well since opening during Covid. Maybe having just the donut or just the ice cream by itself would be different. There was definitely a lot going on with that combination! In fact, it was a bit too much sugar high for us to have on any kind of regular basis but once in a while for a treat or if we're really craving donuts & ice cream, we'd go back again for one. read more

Wow! What a great concept that has been executed flawlessly! Very clean shop with an extremely friendly staff! The donuts are amazing and the icing/topping options are endless. The ice cream is some of the most flavorful and creamy ice cream I have had. The coffee products are much better than those corporate giant coffee shops. If you are a fan of iced coffee, you must try Ohana's. I typically do not care for cold coffee, but Ohana has changed that. My family and I make the 20 minute drive often. My hubby had searched for a new donut shop for Mother's Day and saw Ohana Donuts & Ice Cream. While he didn't end up getting donuts there, it stuck out in his mind. Established in 2020.

Ohana Donuts & Ice Cream opened in February 2020 and was born out of a love for the amazing Hawaiian islands and all things sweet. We re-branded as Ohanalulu in July 2022. Owner Nate Haugh first visited Hawaii with his family back in 1990 when he was 13 years old. The Haugh family quickly fell in love with the unique culture, beauty, and perfect weather of Hawaii life. They would return several times throughout Nate's high school and college years. The Haughs also love donuts and ice cream...almost as much as they love Hawaii! After years of dreaming and many prayers, the concept of "Ohana" was born and put into motion. Ohana means "family" in the Hawaiian language, but in a broader sense, it means COMMUNITY. The Haugh family hopes to share the essence and spirit of OHANA with the central Indiana community through a unique and family-friendly experience. Aloha and welcome to Ohanalulu!

Meet the Business Owner: Nate H.

Have you met our friend, Nate? Nate (and his wife, Katy) is our owner and the one with the huge sweet tooth that developed the idea of combining donuts and ice cream. Nate and his wife both grew up in northern Indiana and attended Wawasee High School. Nate graduated from Purdue in 1999 with a degree in hospitality management and has been in the food service industry for the past 20 years. Faith and family are the two most important aspects of Nate's life, with donuts being a close third. The Haugh family attends Northview Church's Anderson campus and are active in their community. Nate and Katy have three children and live in the Pendleton area. Athletics certainly keep the Haugh family busy. Although they enjoy attending professional, college and local sporting events, Nate and Katy's favorite sports to watch are the ones their kids are playing. You can find them at the ballpark almost daily in the spring and summer months.

Avon has at least four donut shops within 1-2 miles of each other - Parlor, Dunkin, Pana, and Carl's. Of these, Carl's is clearly the "local" shop. It has the look and feel of a gathering place. While the others do offer sit-down dining, especially Parlor, Carl's feels like a smalltown donut joint with its simple but pleasant decor, lower pricing, and comfortable but pleasing service. Carl's Donuts & Bakery is a locally owned donut shop (Pana is also locally owned, though a growing chain). Carl's also doubles as a cafe and also serves other breakfast items alongside its donuts. The major plus to this approach for a guy like me is that fountain drinks are available including iced tea. I'm constantly dismayed how hard it is to get iced tea in donut shops. I was dismayed to read Jen F's review noting poor customer service as my experience was quite the opposite with customer service being a key strength. The basics: Carl's is located in what looks like a small office complex with a mix of retail and personal service type businesses. It's toward the back. There's some accessible parking and appropriate curb cuts. There's a double entry with glass doors that were pretty easy to manage. As you enter, a dining area is directly to the front of you and to the right side. To the left is the ordering area - I think I goofed up at entry - you begin toward the back and then exit out the front path. I went in through the front, though there wasn't a line and no one said anything. The employees asked if I was ordering breakfast or donuts. I typically get 2-3 donuts and a drink. I stuck with this plan, however, given the comfy atmosphere opted to dine in. I haven't had much time to rest recently and it was nice to sit down. I felt a little out of place (everyone else was clearly local), though everyone was friendly. I ordered chocolate covered yeast donuts and a fountain unsweetened iced tea. They offer discounts, it seems to military, teachers, and first responders. The donuts had a slightly thicker yeast than some that lean toward fluffy. These were more substantial. The chocolate reminded me of Titus Bakery. The iced tea was great - no clue on brand. I could have stuck with two donuts instead of three and been satisfied. The service was a top feature here for me. They were friendly, helpful, and patient as I figured things out. I watched them easily serve a group of senior males gathering in one corner (pouring coffee, etc.). Carl's does not have a drive-thru. Their Facebook indicates they offer curbside pick-up. In future visits, I'd likely experiment with donuts. This particular chocolate is not a favorite for me. I enjoyed it, but I'd easily experiment. There's no doubt I'd return for the service. At a time when I've recently lost my last family member, it was nice to be in a comfortable, welcoming, and warm environment. It did my spirit good. I would also love to return to enjoy a meal here. Carl's wasn't packed, but it was steady throughout my visit and it's clear that Avon loves its donuts and it loves its smalltown gathering spaces.
