I loved visiting this location for lunch. The view from the restaurant of the river is absolutely beautiful. There is also rooftop seating available. Our waitress was so sweet and friendly, and recommended menu options. We got the Rock n Roll, Ragin Cajun, and Big Easy rolls. I've always been a fan of the Rock n Roll (my absolute favorite sushi), but the Ragin Cajun was so good. I loved the mixture of Asian and Cajun. The Big Easy roll was a true fusion also of crawfish, crab, and a fried outside. Everything was delicious and the experience was amazing.

Came in on a Wednesday night, the evening before LSU graduation, around 7. Place was moderately busy. We did not have a reservation, but my wife and I were seated almost immediately. Solid first impression. I do not remember the host's name, but she was friendly and efficient. No awkward waiting around. Our server, Luna, was excellent. Kind, patient, and knew the menu. She answered our questions without rushing us and checked in at the right moments. We started with a couple cocktails from their menu. I do not remember the exact names, but one in particular stood out. Bourbon, citrus, and ginger. I think it was called the Kyushiki. Expertly prepared. Balanced, not overly sweet, and clean on the finish. Whoever is behind the bar knows what they're doing. We ordered a couple miso soups. Good flavor, not salty, subtle miso presence. The broth was darker, closer to a beef broth color, with mushrooms. Tasty, but I would not call it a traditional miso. Still enjoyable. Spicy edamame came out warm with a nice kick. Not over the top heat-wise. There was a subtle sweetness that worked well and kept it from being one-note. We ordered four rolls: Salmon Pesto Roll, Musashi Roll, Rainbow Roll, and Father Calais Roll, pictured left to right. All four were fresh and well executed. Nothing was over-riced, nothing drowned in sauce. Flavors were balanced and intentional. Each roll stood on its own without feeling heavy or sloppy. Overall, the service and food were top notch. Add in the view of the river, which is genuinely great, and this is an easy place to recommend. We would absolutely come back.

We had so much fun here having drinks with Landon! He is a rockstar bartender and made our experience extra special!!! We don't eat sushi, but loved the panoramic view of downtown Baton Rouge on the rooftop bar. We loved the sun deck and the warmth of the sun shining down on our face! We took the bowling group there after dinner to experience the beautiful lights of the city! I highly recommend stopping in and have Landon whip you up a pink gesha girl! You will not be disappointed!!

My daughter is a new sushi lover so I took her on a Tuesday around 3pm. We were seated at a small table for 2 with a beautiful river view. We started with the Shishito and Shrimp. This was pretty good but I needed a better dipping sauce. It was happy hour so certain rolls were discounted. I was disappointed to learn that they didn't have or were out of the fried rice. We decided to go with the Big Easy rolls and the Shrimp Tempura rolls. They took a little while to come but we enjoyed the view while waiting. My daughter was disappointed that the Big Easy were only 4 rolls. Nevertheless, they were good. I also enjoyed the Shrimp Tempura rolls. Our server was friendly. Overall, we enjoyed our visit and will probably return in the night time for the wonderful views. There is also rooftop outdoor seating. I'd definitely come back for that in cooler weather.

I have to disclose that I am not a sushi eater, but everyone else in my family is. Fortunately for me, there are other options. I did enjoy my drink (and helped finish someone else's who thought theirs was too sweet--ha). The food is fresh and the restaurant is very upscale, coupled by the incredible view from being situated on the rooftop. I ordered chicken, veggies and rice. It was fresh and there wasn't a single thing I didn't like. The rest of the crew ordered a bunch of sushi to share, and we all shared some edamame. It was a great time with family and a good place to experience at least once.

As always, very nice and pleasant when I visit one of my favorite sushi places in Baton Rouge! My sushi was a 10/10. The service was great. The view is ALWAYS the best. Looking out at the river and downtown is always special and especially at sunset!

I literally can't get enough of this food! The Thai spaghetti? The hung lo? The nigiri? All lovely and the service is impeccable everytime. Plus is doesn't hurt to have a great rooftop view !

Sat at the bar. Has a full bar and lots of sushi options. Started with miso soup then the happy feet roll and a shrimp crunchy roll; the rolls were ok. The bartender appeared very busy so I never got a chance to order anything extra. Had to get his attention to grab my check. I'm not impressed with the service here so it's not likely I'll be back.

I went early afternoon and there was plenty of seating at the bar but the restaurant was getting full. It was hot out so I didn't choose it but it looks like there would be a great view from the outside seating area! The bartenders were very friendly, although definitely on the newer side. There are deals each night and the deal that night was for a $7 cocktail and a $10 roll that's normally about $20! I was told this after I had ordered so I did not try it. Both the Grand Isle roll and the Hato Drink were delicious. The rolls were very reasonably price. The edamame was okay except I misread the description for the spicy ones - they are soaked in a sweet chili sauce. It tasted okay but was not what I expected (fault of my own). I would get the regular salted edamame next time. I will definitely be back when the weather is better for sitting outside!

The place is nice with a perfect balcony view on a pretty day BUT I can't review the food because we were seated outside and sat for about 15 minutes and were never waited on so we left! I noticed 2 other tables outside sitting without drinks or food waiting so not sure what was going on since the inside had many employees in there appearing to get the inside tables ready for service like rolling up napkins and setting tables. I gave 3 stars to be fair and not to slam the place for poor service but I'd expect the restaurant to be ready BEFORE opening

I think Tsunami is all around a great restaurant. In my opinion, the only downside to this location is the parking. The food is always great, I have never had something that I did not care for. If you do get a chance to make it, I highly recommend sitting outside, it has amazing views of the Mississippi River.

Big Easy. Phiily roll. Salmon Pesto. Black n gold roll.

The view of the Mississippi River is amazing while eating. The service is a ten. All servers were attentive and kind. The non-traditional sushi rolls were very tasty. My husband killed the big easy, the salmon pesto, and the black and gold. They were gone before the tugboat in view pushed a barge up river. The big easy is massive and had all the good meats stuffed in the middle. The black and gold had yummy nugs of crawfish spicy mayo. The philly roll however, was mid. I've had better.

The 2021 visit food was below average and service wasn't much to speak of. I live nearby and have been wanting to visit here and try the lunch buffet. I was not disappointed at all. I don't think I've eaten at a Chinese lunch buffet in the BR area that I really enjoyed. I brought my son and he is picky and he enjoyed just about everything he tried. We sampled a good variety. Side note: I've eaten at the other place at Sherwood & Coursey, just around the corner and my visit was once with no desire to return. Food: A really good variety to choose from. The variety they have is definitely quality over quantity. Very impressed with price of $12.99 and the quality of food. Egg roll was good, House Made Roll was excellent! The crab Rangoon was not lacking, it had ample amount of cream cheese, no skimping there. Honey Chicken was good, Sesame Chicken was excellent, had a little spice to the sweetness too. Hunan pork was excellent, beef and broccoli was the only item that was average to me. Sweet & sour chicken, friend rice, lo mein, was very good. No General Tso's or Mandarin Chicken on the buffet. Unsure if they take any requests for specific items to be placed on buffet. Service: I believe the owner was the one that greeted us and sat us at our table. Very nice, attentive, and had good small talk about FIFA World Cup. He immediately took our drink order and drinks were at our table before we returned. Ambiance: Place had a decemt ambiance to it. Very clean. I do remember the old Hunan's ambiance was cool because of the old celebrity photos on the wall that had a good amount of LSU stars. This definitely doesn't have that, but I wish it did resemble some of that, maybe one day it will. The important aspect is the great quality of the food, because I definitely wasn't there for the decor. To my surprise this place wasn't jam packed. I was nervous when I walked in because not many patrons inside, but when we left there was about 5 more tables filled. This place should be more packed.

The inside was clean, spacious, and wasn't busy, which was nice bec we weren't fighting swarms of people like at a typical buffet. I tried a little sample of just about everything. I loved how the food was hot and I'd say the chicken dishes were my favorite. I was pleased with the price, it was a little over $30 for 2 adults, which I felt was good for an AYCE buffet on the weekend. Overall, I'd recommend Hunan if you're in the mood for a fair priced delicious AYCE Chinese buffet!
