Peanut Butter Chocolate Pie (gf and df!!) (7/12/2019)
Gwen W.

Was introduced to Ohio Pies while perusing the Pearl Market. Tried a sample of their Buckeye Pie, and whao. WHAOOOOOOO :D that's some top sh**! I'm pretty sure I heard the gal right that the pie was gluten free and dairy free, too. BOOM! I could not resist, so I bought myself a piece and ate it later that evening. Head up: since that pie was made with coconut oil, it was super prone to melting, so eat it fast, or store it in the fridge. Emily, owner/baker extraordinaire, bakes out of her home and sells by order and at several farmers markets around Columbus. I PLAN on tracking her pies down again before summer is over!! She has several flavors to pick from, and if they taste anything as outstanding as the peanut butter one, I'm sooooooo sold!!!

This is a food stand that is at the Pearl Alley Farmer's Market this summer. She also sells pies at other markets including Westerville, by order and at Bexley Natural Market (see her internet site for info). All organic. I tried the Nepali veggie hand pie and the strawberry rhubarb pie. The crest was very flaky and delicious. The veggie hand pie had a nice kick to it. I will definitely be looking for her food stand this summer!

Neither my now-husband or I are huge cake fans, so we knew we wanted to do something a bit different for our wedding desserts. We had first heard of Ohio Pies from the Clintonville Farmer's Market, and covertly tasted them in the months leading up to the wedding (ordering a slice or two at a time from the farmers market). Everything we tasted was amazing, and as a bonus she offers a good selection of gluten-free pies as well for those with dietary restrictions. If you're concerned about hiring a home baker for your wedding or event, don't be. Emily is fantastic, professional, and was so accommodating to my requests. She gave me a huge selection of flavors, beyond what was on her standard October menu. She delivered 25 pies to our venue, with instructions on storing them until serving. She was incredibly responsive by email as we were planning, and generally super sweet to work with. Everything tasted amazing (of course!), and we had so many compliments from our guests on what fun it was to taste different flavors all night. We highly recommend Ohio Pies for your dessert needs, big or small!

I walked by the stand for two days and my partner said let's get some. We both got the MUNCHIE BUSTER BOWL and it was amazing. We had different topping and was able to customize it. It was beyond delicious and simply delightful! Fresh fruit and that chocolate is amazing! It you see the stand around town you simply gotta treat yourself. You will not be disappointed.

The display of chocolates was completely mesmerizing and contained a wide variety of truffles and handmade candy bars. The shop owner was very friendly and also gave recommendations on what to try. I tried only two truffles because I was so full from all the foods I tried before: Lavender Hand Rolled Truffle: The truffle itself was very dense and rich with a strong presence of cocoa. Every bite melted in my mouth just like any good quality chocolate. What ruined this one was the lavender flavoring which was so overpowering that all I could taste was cocoa and lavender. Vietnamese Cinnamon Hand Rolled Truffle: I really enjoyed this one. The cinnamon and honey in the truffle paired perfectly with the strong cocoa flavor and the chocolate itself was very rich. If I was ever in the area again, I would probably come by to try their handmade candy bars and white chocolate items.

So want g to share this with my friend, I immediately hopped into my car and drove 20 min to grab a box of these to being to her.
