Very disappointing experience and poor follow-through. I contacted this company for a time-sensitive electrical issue at my rental property in Renton after my tenant raised safety concerns. The technician came out, identified several issues that needed repair, and provided two pricing options: a higher price if the work was done the same week, and a lower price if scheduled the following week. I approved the early-next-week option and asked for confirmation of the schedule and final cost. After that, communication stopped completely. No confirmation, no follow-up, and no response to my approval. When I reached out again over a week later to schedule the work, I was told they were "too busy." This was after my time and my tenant's time had already been spent, and after I had clearly communicated approval and intent to proceed. If they were unavailable or no longer interested in the job, that should have been communicated upfront. Instead, I was left hanging and now have to restart the process with another electrician and inconvenience my tenant again. This was an unprofessional experience with poor communication and unreliable customer service. I would not rely on this company again for time-sensitive or tenant-occupied properties. read more

Amazing work, definitely recommended! I had a lot of work to be done to an old house with an old panel: -new 200 amps panel -level 2 EV charger -home surge protection -generator plug outdoor with interlock in main panel -heatpump hook up Alfred stopped by quick, did a free consultation and estimate, answered all my questions via email in details, for a few days we discussed all the details and he provided different options with associated datasheets. (I'm a really picky customer :) ). He recommended me to get an EV charger level 2 to take advantage of the rebate ending in February, I was not even aware of that. He also worked with the city seamlessly and in a timely fashion. When the work was scheduled, his team showed up and in a day they did all the work without any assistance. I could not be happier with my experience working with Ohm Electrical. I had a pretty massive knob & tube wire removal project for my home and they: - came in with a bid that was HALF the cost of the two other bids i received - completed the work exactly on time and at a high quality - ended up costing even less b/c they identified work in the original bid that wasn't ultimately required - communicated well the entire time I also requested a quote a while back for my kitchen remodel and really wanted to go with Ohm Electrical but the general contractor I hired recommended his own guy. Ohm did the seemingly impossible. We had been really struggling with someone that could do a small job of adding some outlets to help us keep some cords away from a newly mobile baby. Not only did the quickly respond, they offered to come do the walkthrough so quickly that we were the ones who were unavailable. From there we were scheduled for the walkthrough and the work done all in the span of a week. They even recommended we go to a four outlets behind the TV so we could eliminate a power strip which in hindsight was ab obvious improvement that we just didn't think to ask for and they didn't change the charge. If you like responsiveness, follow-through, and quality work, they're your people. Ohm electrical was a no show on an urgent project and they didn't even bother to give me a heads-up or to respond to my calls/email. Potential clients, you don't want to do business with any service provider who abuses your trust. Imagine if something goes wrong and you want them back. Ian at Ohm electrical knew my family was stranded until the job was completed. To expedite things, he had me fill out their waiver to agree to the $300 visit charge and other terms and conditions before booking. Then they simply were no shows after I had waited for 2 days! Now, I am back to square 1 looking for an electrician, extending an unpleasant situation for my family. Ohm electric: you can always say "we can't do the job" and maybe I would have found someone else. Rather, you chose to inflict unnecessary pain. They were able schedule the work in one week and did a good job with minimal disruptions. They also arranged to have the new panel inspected and it passed with flying colors. Contacted OHM to get a free quote to get some three way switches wired correctly in a house we had just moved into. But before the tech got to the house, someone from their office called and said that they thought the appointment should be for a time and materials appointment and not a quote appointment and that it should only take ONE hour. I trusted the caller's opinion and agreed to change the appointment. I was at work when the technician showed up and only my wife was at home. The job ended up taking 3.25 hours and costing $1,100. I can't thank Alfred enough! Our main power breaker decided to crap out on us on a Saturday evening and Alfred was the ONLY electrician we could get a hold of at that time. We were doing basement renovation electrical stuff, so he had us walk through what we were working on to see if he could diagnose the issue to save him having to come out there (although he was willing to come if needed). He was honest in that the part we needed wasn't even available til Monday anyway, so no point in paying the emergency fees to have him come out. Ohm Electrical did a knob and tube removal and some minor electrical additions to the house (EV charger and garage wiring). All in all, some 50+ outlets/switches/lights across two floors, that needed to be updated or installed, and some old knob and tube tie-ins with the newer electrical from previous "upgrades" needed to be tracked down and disconnected. Alfred (the owner) came for initial assessment, and stopped by every once in a while during the project. The electricians Alex and Giuseppe were very helpful, professional, and open to concerns and happy to discuss multiple options of how to run the new wiring in the house. Alex did a particularly good job tracking down all existing tie-ins and doing final stretch of the project. The only feedback I have is that their back-office operation seems to be swamped and sometimes there appears to be a miscommunication about what/where needs to be done in the bid/CO, partly due to inconsistent labeling and partly due changes in scope. So we had multiple back and forth about particulars of the bid /CO. I think it would have been better if they provided a doc that they can collaborate with the client to make all work items are where they are supposed to be, rather than using round trip update. Something like Google Docs make it easy for both sides to see all the changes that everybody made. read more

I requested a quote through Yelp for a new home service panel and a couple outlets in my unfinished garage. Ian scheduled and appointment and came out to estimate the job. A week later I get an e-mail telling me I need to coordinate with my utility to get him the exact location of my electrical vault. I asked for the quote, and was told that I couldn't get a quote without providing him with that information. I don't want to know where my electrical vault is - I want an electrical contractor that knows how to find that. Couldn't even get a quote. Waste of my time. read more

The first time that I had work done by Ohm, it went okay aside from a mess left behind and damage to a tree. The second time, things went very wrong. They did work that I specifically said not to do, unbalanced the insulation in my attic and were going to leave without redistributing it, and cut very large holes in my walls. Alfred said that there would be a couple of small holes. Three-foot high holes are not small and cost more to repair than the electrical work. The worst part was that he accused me of having memory problems and then said he would assist with repairs. After he said that, he left and of course denied having ever stated that. Be prepared for the standard company rebuttal of "we're sorry you misunderstood" blah blah blah. They obviously have had to use that line before with other dissatisfied customers. I called due to smoke detector going off without any apparent reason. Ohm returned my call promptly, had someone out to our house before the end of the day. Alfred, showed up, wearing a mask and ready to dive in. He was very knowledgeable and explained what the error points could be and offered me an option to do the work myself and save a few bucks, which I appreciated. Being not handy and wanting it done right I asked him to proceed. He was able to procure and install all new smoke and carbon monoxide detectors throughout the house quickly.
