Our first visit went well since Jeff was full of information and then some, to the point I was ready to pull the trigger and not shop around for a better deal. After our second visit today, I was more than relieved that I have no buyers remorse whatsoever!!! In fact, we added some table lamps, bulbs to our existing order!! I think this is a family run operation and jeff alongside his daughter are experts as well as thorough in giving you pros and cons so you can decide before going forward. We purchased a large chandelier for our entry. Denin at Crescent lighting helped us select the size and color based on a picture that we had. Unfortunately, the manufacturer sent the chandelier with some damage. Denin immediately got a replacement chandelier, which was unexpected because of the price of this light ($5000). The installation was challenging and the electricians I hired were not able to install the chandelier the first time due to another manufacturer defect. I have to hire the electricians again to hang the chandelier, at an additional cost. Denin worked with the manufacturer to get me a refund for the unsuccessful installation ($978 cost). The took a while to accomplish, but Denin hung in there for several weeks until I got my refund. The chandelier is beautiful. read more

Curious negative remarks and experiences that are opposite to mine. Just yesterday I picked up a replacement fixture that I didn't know was guaranteed. No cost to me after a year of use. They were more than cooperative and accommodating. The original price was competitive as well. The complaint that the "designer name" fixtures were replaced with Chinese made goods is actually rather humorous since those Designer fixtures are pretty much ALL made in China in the first place. I think Crescent is getting an unwarranted bad rap from 2 customers out of the thousands they serve. read more

Horrible customer service! I ordered a light two weeks ago and it never arrived. I called the store and it was never sent even though I was charged for it. The manager, Bruce, told me that "people make mistakes" so he doesn't have to help with my inconvenience due to the store's mistake. My order was cancelled and Bruce's boss won't take my calls. This is by far the worst customer service and service recovery I've ever encountered. I just came out of crescent lighting with a bad taste in my mouth. I told the lady at the front desk that I was there to buy some lights. I asked where I could find the kind I was looking for and she pointed her finger in a few different directions and then went back to her work. I walked around the store, the only customer in the store, mind you, and nobody helped me let alone acknowledged me. They don't have the greatest supply and their prices are high. Among other items totaling $800, we purchased an under cabinet lighting transformer. During installation, we learned that it was too big, not suitable for under cabinet. When we returned it, we were charged with a 30% restocking fee! The explanation was because the item was a "special order". The PROBLEM IS: We were NEVER informed verbally or in writing (on the receipt) that the item was a special order!!! The product was actually RECOMMENDED by the sales woman! She said the product was in their warehouse and that it would arrive in 1 week. It took 1 MONTH! We called the store several times. They never followed-up. They kept saying that the item would arrive in a couple of days, over and over. We have drove there twice to try to get our money back and have emailed them. We even spoke with the manager. He never reimbursed us or even called us back, as he said he would. DON'T GO TO THIS STORE! They will deceive you and steal your money!!!! Go to "Seattle Lighting" in Bellevue. I had an excellent experience at Crescent Lighting. Their staff is helpful and friendly from the showroom in Kirkland to the Warehouse - which is about 2 miles away. The lighting is reasonably priced, and the people were very helpful. I expected to go into a lighting design store and pay 3X what I did. I actually expected to only go in for design ideas, but I ended up purchasing two beautiful fixtures. With verbal directions (they asked if I needed them written down) and GPS it was very easy to find. Its by the Ballet company and it is indeed in a group of warehouses but I did not find it hidden. I was willing to drive the two miles to the warehouse, if thats the reason I saved so much. I loved that they carry much more than your everyday, big box store designs. There are some very cool and different designs for living/bathroom/dining/outdoor and I found the prices, even on the outrageous designs that I wish I had a space for, to be very reasonable. Sure, there are some very high end pieces, but for the most part its very reasonable. read more

We were also forced to use this supplier with our new home purchase. Two years later, half of the lights will not turn on in three of our washrooms; we replaced the light bulbs, but that does not help. If we manually adjust the lights, we can get most of the lights to turn on, but within a week they turn off again. We are actually going to have to replace the fixtures on all of our washrooms to remedy the problem. Not only is the wiring horrible, the prices were exorbitant (particularly given that our contractor only allocated $750 for lighting an 3000 sqft home). read more

This organization needs major help in customer communications and customer relationships. We had to pay in advance for a $1000 light fixture and promised an arrival date. When the arrival date came, we contacted them but was directed to voice mail. They still have not returned our call and it's been almost a week since the arrival date. We have used Crescent to supply our 6000 sf home with the bulk of it's lighting and most of the hardware. I compared prices with online and other stores and found them to be right on par and often less expensive. They quickly replaced anything that had a problem and patiently answered my many, many questions (thanks Tom). The outside rep helped to design my lighting plan which turned out nicely.. If you are looking for made in the USA only, good luck, as many "high end co." have their goods made in China. Having just recently built a house it is up to the consumer to ask questions, review their product choices and expectations and double check everything. We were forced to use this supplier for our new home purchase. Their store is a jumbled mess and smells like cigarette smoke. I was advised to go online and try to find items I liked. The site is terrible. It doesn't search well and they use different SKUs online vs in-store. I purchased lighting fixtures for $300+ and when they arrived they were HORRIBLE. I tried to exchange them, but was advised they are discontinued and no longer can be returned. I was never advised this when I purchased them. Avoid this store at all costs. I would agree with Hanafi. I found the people very friendly, knowledgable, helpful and more than happy to order what I needed. Possibly the other folks experienced an "off-day" or something; we all have them. Crescent's pricing was competitive with the big-box stores for what I was after, with the exception that Crescent actually GOT it for me, where the big-box advised me to "go on-line"! The big-box store sold the lighting fixtures but didn't carry a bulb that actually fit! Go figure. They had some really unique lights that were very impressive. read more

If you value knowledgeable, courteous customer service, avoid this store. I went there today to look at pendant lights and was "helped" by an employee who was hesitant and seemed to know very little about the products at hand. There is a selection of pendant lights, some of which are illuminated by light bulbs that work, and many of which are unlit because, according to another glib employee, "the transformers are out" -- implying that he could have cared less! I left feeling as if I had wasted my time and theirs. Never again!! read more

I'm writing this review just because the other 3 reviews here are so opposite to my experience! Last year we did a complete remodel of our (new to us) home in Kirkland, getting quite a bit of special order lighting. We got pricing thru our contractor from Crescent and Seattle Lighting, and Crescent was cheaper. The different orders were all timely, and when something didn't work out in the room, they took it back in stock, even though it was something they didn't stock, all with NO restock. We worked with Leah there, and always communicated what items we weren't sure of, to make sure what would happen if it didn't work out...maybe that is the difference? Yes, their store isn't as "fancy" as Seattle Lighting, but you get the same products, and the assistance we got from Leah makes for a better store. read more

I understand retail. This retailer doesn't understand me. They sold my wife a poor set of products that failed in less than a year. When called on the issue they generally blamed everybody else, it is the manufacturer, it is the electrician, it is your wife, it is the shipper. So I visit the store, not a pretty visit. When I delivered my feedback to "Bruce" he didn't like it and told me to never return. A few months later the lights failed again. My wife revisits the store. Bruce hadn't forgotten my visit, and lectured her and my niece. This store is a joke! read more
