Tried out this Sushi place near the hotel around the area and simply thought it was an OK restaurant. The California Rolls were very good. But the subpar food items were the Bulgogi (lacked flavor/seasoning), the House Salad had too much Ginger and other odd dressing on it and the Shrimp Tempura were so-so. A little pricey for the portion sizes of the rolls which were smaller than other Sushi joints. Good points were the ample parking and very good service at our table. The food is so good and flavorful. My go to is the Godzilla roll and their gyozas. They have a decent sized dining area with several seating. The staff is always very nice and look like they genuinely love their job. The sushi chefs always decorate the sushi plates so nicely. They also have a boba menu that's very good. Amazing sushi and bubble tea. You'll definitely get your fix of fresh fish with great flavors. We tried so many items off the menu, but there are so much more to try! Not only do they have delicious rolls and sushi burritos, but their korean dishes are authentic and tasty as well. We started with some tempura veggies and seafood. These were deliciously crispy! We also had the ohsio burrito and bulgogi burrito, which were huge! For rolls, we had the popcorn shrimp roll and a few others I don't remember. But all were tasty and spicy. We had some sashimi too, which was so fresh and mouth watering. For non-sushi dishes, the udon and stone bowl bibimbap were excellent. I would definitely recommend this restaurant for a variety of authentic Japanese and korean dishes. Make sure you get some delicious bubble tea on your way out! My favorite was the green tea. Well, tried to order through Door Dash and Google Pay is not accepted from our country. Last I checked, I live in the USA.‍ So, I had to go in and order. The server was cordial and took my order. Being a tourist, I started to take pictures of the display case, and the sushi chef said, "No need to take picture." I'm a tourist; I take pictures. I walked out because it was uncomfortable. My husband got the food. FYI - I edited any faces out of my pics. Update: Food was okay - spicy tuna roll- fresh, not true spicy. Yakisoba was okay, not what the boys were used back home in Hawaii. My wife and I usually go to a sushi food truck at a local brewery and distillery. That food truck was discontinued so we were on the lookout for a takeout sushi place. I tried a couple of rolls and my wife got the poke bowl with a mango bubble tea. We thought that everything we tried was great tasting and fresh. We haven't been here since pandemic and in another name. We came to visit from Rockford to see if they have the same ramen soup and they do! The best ramen soup in Illinois. It's very tasty. Hubby had shrimp udon and we both like it. We also had the shrimp and calamari tempura, ( They use real by the way so that's fantastic.) I had mango fruit green tea and he had pineapple black tea. The spicy aioli was too generous and smothered the salmon. Gyoza crispy (which is good thing.) Yakisoba was good but the portion of noodles was on the smaller side for an entree. This is a real treasure in the northern suburbs of Chicago. They have everything you'd want when you're craving Japanese, from Nigiri to Poke Bowls and even Ramen and Udon noodles to complement your cold dishes. One of our favorites were the Sushi Burritos. They are so cute and perfect for take out! They'd be perfect for office catering, too. Apparently they are trendy in the West Coast, but I have not seen them in Chicago but so cool that this hidden gem has them! We got the Waukegan Burrito, which was a spicy tuna roll with avocado and spicy Mayo. It was out of this world. They recommended the bulgogi burrito, too, which I am definitely trying next time. The sushi was fresh and was served with such beautiful presentation. On top of that, they serve their sushi with fresh shaved wasabi, which is milder and gives the meals a gourmet feel. The interior was airy with high ceilings and had modern Asian decor. My kids loved the feel of the whole restaurant that they are already asking to have their birthday parties there! We ended our meal in the room next door at their Bubble Tea bar. The smoothies are nice and sweet, but the barista was so sweet and customized our smoothies to be made without added sugar. I loved that the tea menu was simple and easy to choose from. Without a long menu to read and consider, I was able to enjoy my time in the beautiful cafe with beautiful company. I wish I had taken pictures of the food, but it was so good that we had gobbled up half of our feast before I even got a group pic! Service/ambience was good BUT I did get food poisoning!!Went here with a friend and before arriving we had shared food all day, the only thing we did not share was my Tonkatsu Ramen and I was in and out of the bathroom for hours. My bowl looked questionable but I figured it was simply not a traditional take on Tonkasu and tried to enjoy it- it was like eating a creamy chowder with WAY too much shredded ginger thrown ontop. I've lived in Waukegan for a year now and I'm kicking myself for not finding this place sooner. My husband and I visited last Thursday earlier in the evening. There was only one other couple there at the time. The place is decorated so nicely as well! We ended up ordering three kinds of rolls of sushi, the calamari tempura and boba teas. The sushi was so yummy and the presentation was beautiful. The calamari tempura was nice and crispy. I got a passion fruit smoothie and it was one of the best I've ever had.
