Had the pleasure of trying Ohsio Sushi in Waukegan, IL . When I tell you they did NOT disappoint. The ambience was very intimate & clean. We had a great server, that got us our food fresh, hot, & fast. We will definitely be back Ever since having my daughter in September 2023 I have been trying to enjoy more experience locally! Best decision ever. Try them out today. Pictured: Chicken Teriyaki Bento Box Beef Fried Rice Passion fruit smoothie w/ Kiwi Boba

The food is so good and flavorful. My go to is the Godzilla roll and their gyozas. They have a decent sized dining area with several seating. The staff is always very nice and look like they genuinely love their job. The sushi chefs always decorate the sushi plates so nicely. They also have a boba menu that's very good. Best sushi in Waukegan.

Tried out this Sushi place near the hotel around the area and simply thought it was an OK restaurant. The California Rolls were very good. But the subpar food items were the Bulgogi (lacked flavor/seasoning), the House Salad had too much Ginger and other odd dressing on it and the Shrimp Tempura were so-so. A little pricey for the portion sizes of the rolls which were smaller than other Sushi joints. Good points were the ample parking and very good service at our table. I would give 4 Stars for that and 2 Stars for the food quality. Overall a 3.

Love it here food is good , service is great , best thing about it is this place this down the street from my home !

I've been to Ohsio manny times. I got my go to order Angry Fire Chicken Burrito with California Roll for lunch to go. Everything was perfectly packaged and I had just enough soy sauce. Their menu is easy to read and the items are affordable. The service is quick, took about 15 mins. They also have plenty of parking.

Love this place. They have lots of food options. We also got bubble teas on the other side of this restaurant and they were good! Food was fresh and amazing. This is a nice Japanese restaurant. I'd keep coming here!

Amazing sushi and bubble tea. You'll definitely get your fix of fresh fish with great flavors. We tried so many items off the menu, but there are so much more to try! Not only do they have delicious rolls and sushi burritos, but their korean dishes are authentic and tasty as well. We started with some tempura veggies and seafood. These were deliciously crispy! We also had the ohsio burrito and bulgogi burrito, which were huge! For rolls, we had the popcorn shrimp roll and a few others I don't remember. But all were tasty and spicy. We had some sashimi too, which was so fresh and mouth watering. For non-sushi dishes, the udon and stone bowl bibimbap were excellent. I would definitely recommend this restaurant for a variety of authentic Japanese and korean dishes. Make sure you get some delicious bubble tea on your way out! My favorite was the green tea. Service is so amazing too- everyone is very nice!

Well, tried to order through Door Dash and Google Pay is not accepted from our country. Last I checked, I live in the USA.‍ So, I had to go in and order. The server was cordial and took my order. Being a tourist, I started to take pictures of the display case, and the sushi chef said, "No need to take picture." I'm a tourist; I take pictures. I walked out because it was uncomfortable. My husband got the food. FYI - I edited any faces out of my pics. Update: Food was okay - spicy tuna roll- fresh, not true spicy. Yakisoba was okay, not what the boys were used back home in Hawaii. The mochi ice cream was okay, but for 2/$8, I could buy 6 for that price. Ah, the price you pay for convenience. Besides, this was for our son. Will I go back? Probably not, Hawaii has the best of everything.

Really upset to order a spicy salmon and a yellow fish only to get a spicy salmon and a... rice roll ?? Quite possibly the least amount of fish I've ever received in a sushi roll. You be the judge. Not my first time here and it's usually pretty good, just surprised to be skimped this hard. Probably won't come back for sushi although I've had good experiences in the past.

This is such a hole in the wall place, and like every low key sushi spot, it's amazing. This is probably some of the best sushi I've ever had. All of the food was good and fresh. The server was very polite and quick with our food. This will probably be a regular spot now!

It is a noisy place full of older customers that know everyone in the place. Lots of customers hugging the staff, talking with the owners, and other tables. A great atmosphere if you are a local. One of the owners even suggested carrot cake for our desert. Really good by the way. We did see a number of regulars tables that were receiving complimentary appetizers. I get it, but you should treat first time customers the same to make them repeat customers? The issue was with service and how we were treated after we had to get service. Our server disappeared once our main course was ordered. Yes the place was packed, but the server made sure she kept on touching base with the regulars tables and we received less attention. Well like no attention. Well like we had to go to the bar to one of the owners to get our check. Well and when my significant other tried to comment that we had a lack in service the owner walked away from us. She turned a really nice first time experience into a never going back and write a bad review experience. (And my significant other was mad the whole evening, which made the event worse for me.) So even though I wanted to at least give them a 2 star review I had to tie it back to the tip we gave of $1. Regretfully we will not be going back to The Green Room.

I ordered the Pad Thai with tofu, the staple menu item I order each time I visit. My guest ordered the Mongolian beef. My pad Thai came out visibly different than times past. It looks almost watered down and the tofu was not coated and seared with the beautiful crust it normally has. I ate it and it tasted... sour. Normally this pad Thai leans savory over sweet, but this time it just straight up tasted sour. The tofu was nothing to write home about, which is typically not the experience I have here. The Mongolian beef tasted like it had more sear on the meat than actual beef. It tasted over-charred. The rice and veggies were good, but that's kind of a simple feat. I ordered the Pomegrantate martini which was good. The space was also very hot, I understand it's a hot day and a busy restaurant but my legs were dripping in sweat the entire hour we were there. I will give them a try again, because I know from previous experiences the pad Thai was usually great. That tofu is what I keep coming back for! Hopefully next time it'll meet my expectations. This was this past weekend on Friday night.

Came on a Thursday after lunch and it wasn't too busy. Ordered the Tocilog - which is sweet pork with a side of garlic fried rice, and an egg cooked any way you like. Also came with a side of noodles (pancit). Since I was here, decided to order some calamansi wings to go. And of course an ube milk tea. I really enjoyed my meal. The Tocino was a little different from what I'm used to. I'm used to a slab of pork pan fried with the fat fried to a slight crunch lol. I'm also used to tocino being red in color. I guess the tocino here is a little more leaner and no artificial colors - which works for me as I'm kinda allergic to red dye. But it tasted good, very flavorful. Loved the garlic rice as well. Pancit noodles were okay - could have used a little more seasoning but I could dig it Calamansi wings were low key fire. The crisp of the wings were perfection and the meat was not tough - still nice and juicy. I would get these again. They did have other flavors available that I need to come and try as well such as adobo and salt & pepper. Servers were nice and food came out pretty fast.

Our 21-month old granddaughter was along so we had to be a bit circumspect in our choice. But my wife and I both like Japanese fare and our granddaughter, whose Mom is Korean, gets a lot of that type of food at home. The location of this place is in a strip plaza tucked away in a non-descript commercial area. It was not too difficult to locate with GPS. The interior was well-kept and made a good impression on entry. Located in a single storefront slot, it was not too surprising that it was narrow in layout. It could probably be described as cozy. We were seated right away and our server attended to us quickly. She did an exceptional job taking care of us during our visit. The food was delivered promptly and was ready to eat with no problems. We started with the Asparagus Beef Maki, which was excellent. Served in a soy-based sauce, it was very tasty. For entrees, we tried a Bento Box (Box C) and a Dinner combo (Combo C). Both featured tempura and sushi. We both gave thumbs-up to these. We were able to feed our granddaughter from our portions amd have some to take home as well. With food, drinks, tax and tip, our total was $76. At roughly $38 per person (cheaper on a per-person basis really, since we fed a toddler as well), this was a good deal. We will definitely go back when we are in the area.
