Went with a group of 6 women and most got the all you can eat sushi which was around $30. If you plan on getting an app and a few rolls, or more all you can eat is a decent bargain. I had the avocado roll and Boston roll. Both were decent. They were a bit warm though which threw me off. Neither were fried so I'm not sure why any part of the sushi would have been heated. Worst Japanese restaurant I've ever been to by far. The sake was lousy/sweet. The sushi rice was mush (a cardinal sin for sushi and sashimi). Seaweed wrap was almost impossible to bite through and the tiny sushi fish tasteless; probably leftovers. Everything was fresh but there was a certain blandness to the rolls that I can't fully explain. No seasoning on the rice? It wasn't bad, but I struggle to explain it anything other than bland. Have been coming here for about two years once in a long while. The waitress has an attitude and has AirPods in while serving. The ambiance is completely lack luster and the decoration is just weird. The food is subpar at best. Today I went with my boyfriend and I ordered the AYCE. He just got two rolls off the regular menu. The man who mad the sushi came over to give us the food and strictly told us "no sharing!" And proceeded to wave his hand in our faces. He said that since I got the AYCE, that anyone else could not have any. My boyfriend hadn't even taken a bite of the rice I ordered!! I thought the spicy tuna roll and clear broth soup (not miso) was good, the service was quick, informative and friendly. The chicken itself was yummy, but I didn't think it came together as a complete dish. The Japanese sodas with keys that make a ball drop and pop, were kinda fun, despite how painful that prolly sounds. Ha! I suppose the price was average, but I'm not sure I thought the chicken teppenyaki was worth the $12 price tag, even with soup and salad. Chef Sonny was quick to answer my sushi questions, and guide me to selections that might best suit me. There was a cute young girl, the owner's daughter perhaps, that checked on us, and danced around and was quite engaging. I did really enjoy the atmosphere and intimate setting; it had a nice, casual but warm and modern vibe. Since I am on my phone, I can't type too much but I think my review for Toshi is well due. This place is fantastic! And I mean that. I am very picky with where I get sushi from (for obvious reasons - no one is going to get sushi from the gas station). Sushi is always fresh, chicken and rice are always right out of the kitchen and they are always very kind here. Unlimited Sushi Monday through Friday $14.95 till 3 and $19.95 thereafter. Be warned, you may order as much as you want but make sure you eat what you order though because you pay for what you don't. All in all, I highly recommend Toshi to anyone nearby. Its tucked away behind the Golden Crapell (Correll) so don't get discouraged if you can't find it. 5 stars from me and if I could, I would give a sixth! The place is always empty, with perhaps one other table. On my fourth venture to the restaurant, I ordered the all you can eat deal as usual, but was feeling very unwell before the food arrived. Needless to say, I was unable to finish my order, and was charged a dollar for all thirteen pieces of uneaten sushi. That is obscene.
