    Pomegranat Martini!
 A definite MUST
    Mary P.

My Friend and I were looking for a good place to meet and have some "girl time." What a gem! I would recommend reservations though. When I first arrived, my friend was running late. The waiter was friendly and recommended the pomegranate martini! GREAT CHOICE! It was pretty and delicious. The atmosphere is a little tight but very inviting and fun. It is fairly small...just a store front, but we were comfortable at our table. The food was AMAZING! We had the Pad Thai and the nutty chicken. I am not a fan of tofu! However, the tofu in the PAD Thai was Beyond delicious!!! The Nutty Chicken was delicious as well and came with mash potatoes. YUM YUM YUM I am not a big fan of downtown Libertyville because of the parking and ease of access to the actual restaurants. However, I was able to find on street parking pretty easily at 5:00 pm on a Friday evening. Plus, the food is definitely worth the adventure.

The Green Room has been a favorite of my family and I for years! It's always delicious when we go. The food and drinks are amazing! We love the bang bang shrimp (they are gluten free too!), the mussels, the fish with the butter sauce (it's usually a special), and the general tso chicken. I don't think I have ever had a bad meal here! It used to be a Chinese restaurant so hence the Chinese inspired dishes. It gets packed around 7pm so be sure to make a reservation. Although small, the ambiance is really cozy and upbeat. The service is also great. We will keep coming to The Green Room for years to come! We very loyal!!

General Tsos chicken and crab rangoons

I ordered takeout from Green Room because the reviews were great. Got some general chicken and some crab rangoons. The order was $34 before tip and this is the portions I received. Food was not good, it was cold, not enough for the price, and they forgot my sweet and sour sauce. Service was below average. Inside seemed okay, just another dimly lit tiny restraunt. Will not be going back

I'm disappointed IN US that we didn't visit The Green Room sooner! It's a small place that is so inviting and has a very cool ambiance. We tried most of the items on their daily specials menu, which were all fantastic! The walleye had a crisp crust, the mussles were cooked in a wonderful creamy sauce, the Hong Kong noodles were cooked perfectly and were so flavorful! We all had their version of a Ranch Water, which didn't disappoint. WELL DONE Green Room! You got a standing ovation and we will absolutely be back!

I just had to give a new update. They updated their menu. I took friends here and they all loved it! The food & service were perfect! It's a fun little spot. We ordered: Nutty Chicken Fat Dragon Noodles Coconut Chicken Curry White fish special Everything was 10/10!!

Located in downtown Libertyville, the restaurant had an unassuming exterior with no outdoor seating, so one could easily walk past it without noticing the restaurant. The staff was friendly and was able to accommodate us on a Friday night which was a pleasant surprise. The restaurant was quaint and had a few interesting cocktails options. We tried the Green cocktail and Mexican water which were both good. The bar had a regular following and the atmosphere was lively. We both chose the entrée specials and especially liked the Canadian Walleye, which was fresh and crispy, encrusted and served with a beurre blanc sauce. Portion sizes were good and dinner guests were rolling in all evening. Other than a slight mishap of water delivered with a fly, we enjoyed the evening and would go back.

The shrimp was sautéed with no seasoning at all and the scallops hand zero salt or proper on them. I'm nervous about this review, because I'm pretty confident I'm not the right person to write this…read more Let me start by stating up front that I am not now, nor have I ever been, Filipino. This is the first and only Filipino restaurant I've ever eaten at, so I don't claim to have a great frame of reference. Let me also add that I've eaten here five or six times, and to this day I have no idea what I've ordered. But it's soooo good. Everything I've ever had from Salamat Po has been amazing. So I want to speak to people like me who don't know Filipino cuisine- get in there and try it, you'll be glad you did. I generally go there for lunch, which begins with me standing patiently behind several people who clearly know what it is they're ordering, and they're ordering lots of it. While I'm waiting, I stare at everything in the glass case, and usually something new slides out of the kitchen. I might be wrong about this, but I think the food has been different every time I've been there. When I get to the counter, the server always helpfully tells me the name of whatever dish I'm pointing at, but I'm fairly hopeless when it comes to learning these things. The gentleman today was happy to let me sample anything I wanted, but by the time I got up there my heart was already set on something- a beef stew that wound up tasting as good as it looked, tender and flavorful, in an absolutely perfect broth. I also picked up some sort of fried, salted cinnamon plantain dessert that I'll be dreaming about for the next few nights. I found the portion size to be excellent, with a healthy helping of stew on a bed of rice- more than enough to fill me up for lunch and still have a few bites to share with a co-worker. There are still some things I'm looking forward to trying there- the dessert case has some glorious-looking puddings I need to get next time (unless they have those plantain desserts again), and there's a fish entree I've seen a few times that's been calling my name. Just a note for my fellow eaters new to Filipino food- bring your sense of adventure and an open mind. You'll find some flavors, textures and- let's be honest- some parts you're not used to. Try a few samples, and I'm sure you'll find a new favorite.

So I ordered the yellow curry Ramen of the day since the pork belly is on their menu daily. The broth for both was so good. Since it was just me dining, I did have plenty of leftovers which were just as good a couple days later. Especially since the tofu in the Ramen really soaked up some of the flavor of the broth. I will definitely come here again, especially for that Tokyo old-fashioned. It was delicious. It was made with a tequila versus a whiskey and I think about it every day.
