I came in during a busy hour so I had to wait a bit for a table of 3 but overall the wait is worth is the Chicken Katsu dinner is absolutely fantastic and the sauces on the roll are delicious I could clean the plate off I recommend the Mango Tango, Raging bull, and the Salmon delight is a bit pricey but its definitely worth it theres so many mouth watering salmon and on top of the spicy mayo and soy sauce on the side is the cherry on top. The restaurant overall is nice the music is calming the environment does tend to have a lot of childish items but I dont mind that if you bring little ones or you're children in here they can have an amazing meal on top of a few toys. read more

When it comes to good quality sushi, we cannot beat this place for the price. We come here often even though we live about 35 to 40 minutes away. The spicy tuna hand rolls have a nostalgic taste that we always come back for. Their menu is extremely vast. Even if you're not here for sushi, they have so many other good things on the menu. If you're someone who likes a lot of different types of makis (rolls), you have so many different options to pick from here. Some rules are served inside out, with brown rice, avocado wrap. You can find different rolls that are classic or you could find unique, different makis with different flavors and sauces. The staff always treats us very well here. It always feels like that we are with family whenever we come to this restaurant. The location is always very clean, relaxing, and you're usually able to get a table here pretty easily without a long wait. We cannot recommend this place enough. Ordered two pieces each of maguro and sake sushi. These were actually very good with good sized pieces of fish. I ordered Tonkatsu Ramen for my entree. Asked for it to be spicy. Even with the spicy ask, it was probably the worst spicy Tonkatsu I have ever had. It had no flavor at all. And for all that for just me, I paid $42 with tip. Further down Rt 60 (Townline Road), past the mall is Sushi Kushi San3, which is the third Sushi Kushi (1 in Highland Park, Too in Lake Forest). I am assuming if you like either of those (I do, I do), then you will probably like this one also. We came on a Saturday afternoon for lunch. The restaurant was fairly empty, we were seated in the window alcove at a large table. The lunch special is still in effect on weekends so I ordered the katsu curry lunch which comes with a standard green salad with ginger dressing. The katsu looked to be a portion for three--crisply fried, sliced tender pork katsu bathed in a slightly spicy brown curry sauce with rice, and a dollop of pickled red ginger. It was cooked perfectly, the sauce was delicious--this was perfect for a chilly fall afternoon. My companions went with ramen--ginormous bowls with molten hot broth, thinly sliced char siu and ramen and vegs. This was super filling and tasty and they could not even finish half of it, the rest taken to go. I also had some saba nigiri -- the Saba was perfect--oily, bathed in a light vinegar, tender -- although the rice fell apart. The overall vibe felt a bit unwelcoming like being in someone's house where you have to be overly cautious. Overall the food was pretty good, but definitely on the more expensive side. It takes a while for the foods to be made but they do tend to get it ready before their estimated time, so that's good. The ramen were pretty salty as expected. The steamed oysters were pretty creamy, and the excess tobiko I just put on the caterpillar roll. Their caterpillar roll has decent avocado and is really rich and creamy, though I'd wish they cut it more narrowly soo each piece is not too big. The fried shrimp is very Asian cuz it's tiny little shrimp with shell, I liked the crunch but the kids did not. The dipping sauce had wasabi I think so it's got some kick to it. read more

This was the worst sushi I have ever eaten anywhere in the country. My and mouth and throat are still on fire from the huge amount of heat in the salmon hand rolls. The seaweed is soggy and the sushi rice is unlike any sushi rice I've eaten anywhere. It is sour. I ordered a lot of sushi and had to throw it out. Avoid this restaurant unless you want inedible, pain inducing, poor tasting sushi. Try another SushiKushi location if you don't want to feel ill after eating a hand roll which by the way should be delicious at decent sushi restaurants in Chicago and other suburban locations. read more

We just had a terrible dinner service at this place and we will not be coming back. Our server was Ana and she was extremely rude and inconsiderate, she gave piss poor service the entire time. She kept asking us for the menu back after we asked to keep one incase we wanted to order more food, she then asked us multiple times to make sure we don't spill anything on the menu and then another male server asked us to make sure we don't anything on the menus either. We are not messy people but the menus are laminated and should be wiped down in between customers anyways. I also noticed our soy sauce trays were dirty. They also charge 20% gratuity for tables of 5 people or more which is ridiculous. That server Ana was rude because she knew she was going to get a large tip that she did nothing to deserve. She needs to understand a tip is for her hard work and kindness, not her slamming plates down on her table and her disgusting attitude. There is just a lack of cleanliness and hospitality. We have been going to this restaurant forever. But tonight we were very disappointed with the service. Some of our order was wrong but the waiter insisted it was correct. I had to look for a server and asked him twice for some napkins. No one ever came to see if we needed anything. When the bill came I split it with my son in law. I paid cash that I counted twice so as not to short my son in law which the waiter said I under paid and continued to insist he was correct. Hopefully when they close their drawer tonight they will realize that I was correct. On top of all this they still charged us for the wrong Item and for a party of 4 they now include 20% gratuity . Menu was HUGE and tons of options. Prices were reasonable and not bad at all. We started with a piece of Kani and Ika. Both very fresh tasting and delicious. My favorite go to spot! Love the sushi and that it's always fresh! I also love that I can get a rice ball with salmon here. So many places won't do it anymore or have no idea what I'm talking about. My go to is always the brittle tuna, sashimi lunch special, and rice ball. If we go for dinner I will get brittle tuna, yummy crab, lake forest roll, two ama ebi with the fries heads and go from there. The staff is always quick and helpful. My friends and I came here last night for dinner around 6. We were deciding on which sushi place to go to and ended up here. I really like the interior of this restaurant it is very simple and welcoming with plain wooden chairs, a communal dining table and a sushi bar. They had 5 sushi chefs working at the same time if that gives you any idea of how busy they were. We ordered an immense amount of food since we were so hungry which was really unnecessary because we weren't able to eat all of it. We had the chicken katsu, tuna / salmon carpaccio, blazing roll, turtle roll, sweet potato roll, fried eel tempura appetizers, ton of nigiri including tamago, eel, and salmon, and toro. We also ordered a few other rolls that I don't remember the name of. The fried eel tempura appetizer here is amazing huge chunks of eel deep fried and covered in crunchies. The tuna / salmon carpaccio also came with a side salad and about 10 pieces of fish which was great for the price. The blazing roll was huge and covered in sauce but actually had a great spicy flavor. I would definitely come here again for americanized fattty saucey sushi. read more
