These guys, especially Alton our technician, really saved us today. I had gotten an oil change at the Oil Changers in Concord yesterday and was driving out to a work appointment when my engine light started going off. Pretty soon, my engine started stalling and I was struggling to drive 40 mph on the freeway. After things got progressively worse, I had to pull over at a gas station in Berkeley and call the shop where I had gotten my oil changed and they directed me to this location on San Pablo Ave to get the issue repaired. Alton worked on my car for about twenty minutes and determined that my engine oil was basically drained. He ran a number of tests and pinpointed other issues which he also fixed. Throughout the whole time, he was very friendly and helpful and provided the best service. He didn't ask for a dime because I had the work done at another Oil Changers. He even called me a few hours later to make sure my car was running ok. He definitely showed that he cared about taking care of his customers. I would strongly recommend choosing this shop for your oil change and auto needs. They provide the best service and go way beyond what is required. 100% honest and trustworthy. read more

Incredible service. They explained all of the issues with my leaking oil filter and brought our example pieces to point to. He even took my phone beneath the car to film the problem for reference. I left feeling so relieved. Also it was done in 10 minutes! Drove right up, got to stay in the car and drove out - Will come again! Update: went again because my car was having leaking oil issues and Anthony helped me. He put so much effort into doing a full service check, replacing the oil filter, topping off the oil, taking videos and showing me the problem and even got on the phone with Mini Cooper to describe the part needed for the car and advocated for me. I'll be much better at getting my oil changed from now on, now that I know about oil changers on San Pablo. Honestly, this place is a five minute walk from work errand I needed to take care of - that's why I came. I pulled up, and they took me right away. Alten checked my mileage, checked my oil, told me I didn't need to get out of the car and I'll be done in 15 minutes. They topped off the air in my tires, and even cleaned out the gunk from my super dirty oil. The staff is friendly, funny, and a joy to work with. Oil Changers - Great service!! - Oil Change Stations Near Me - Berkeley, California

I'll start by recognizing that I have a Volkswagen Eurovan. It's not the newest of cars and it's European and as such, I understand that it can often feel like a unique type of oil change when you realize it has a skid plate and requires a certain type of oil filter that's not always in stock. This is my third or fourth time coming here and every time I come there's always an issue with why they can't service my van and I'm told to come back another day. They don't have the oil filter, don't have the right kind of oil, etc. Ive had this happen enough times that I now bring my own oil filter because I know it's going to come up. Today, after they told me as expected that they didn't have the oil filter, I let them know I had my own. A few minutes later, they told me they didn't have the "specific tool" to remove the skidplate. When I told them all it required was a simple socket wrench, they said they didn't have it. They went on by trying to tell me it was a specific "European part" that they had to order. I know that's not true because I've changed the oil myself before and the skid plate is held by fairly common bolts that a socket wrench could take out. At this point, I've had several experiences here and at the Richmond oil changers where they've complained about having to take the skid plate out while doing my oil change that I wasn't surprised when it felt like they were just making excuses as to why they couldn't do my oil change. I was appreciative that they topped off my oil before I left but it's frustrating that you can't trust whether they're going to be willing or able to do your oil change whenever you show up. As we drove out, the servicer told us to make sure we "come early next time so that we have everything you need." If you don't have something in stock like an oil filter or "special tool", that has nothing to do with being there early. We showed up at 6, one hour before they closed. We were the only ones in line. Unfortunately, this further confirmed for me that they just didn't want to do our oil change when we showed up. read more

Great Service! I have been taking my car to the dealership where I bought it for oil change service but not only were they expensive, they were far. I decided to look for somewhere closer and found Oil Changers through the great Yelp reviews they got. I just took my car in and was VERY happy with the great, quick, inexpensive service. Alton got me in and out really quick, within 15 minutes. He also checked all of my lights and blinkers and put air caps on 2 of my tires that were missing them. These guys used to do the work I paid for, but the last two times I went there for an oil change, I believe they didn't actually change the oil filter because I didn't hear the usual noise of the filter being removed. So now I've started going to a competitor. I hope an appropriate State agency investigates this station for fraud. read more

I don't get my oil changed very often due to a combination of not driving much and bad inherited car maintenance habits. Nobody has fun getting an oil change, and Alton and Gio at Oil Changers make it as palatable as it can be! I arrived on a Sunday morning, and I was probably the first person to arrive. They were super quick and friendly. They told me that I should change my power steering fluid and that whole my transmission fluid should be changed every two years (or 30,000 miles), it was fine as is. I appreciate when they give you real feedback as opposed to just telling you to have fluids changed on a schedule even if it doesn't apply to you. read more
