We played doubles, and my partner and I won the game against the other two players. Points are scored only when the serving team wins a rally, and I am a good server. I learned fast how to make the ball hit the court in front the blue line, which is known as the kitchen. Elvis, the head coach, was thorough in his explanation of the fundamentals of the game. We practiced our skills with our peers, getting feedback from the coach that was assigned to our court. There was a coach for each of the eight courts, and each court had four players. I learned the rules of the game and how to score. The goal is to keep the ball out of the kitchen. You can only volley outside the kitchen. The class lasted approximately two hours, and we all had fun. I will definitely be back to take more classes. They have provided me non stop assistance with the growth of both of my boys now 10 and 5 1/2. From the beginning in 2023, Sharon the past director made me a Helicopter mom not worry. Even to the point where in 2026, Sean (who is the current director), picked up from where Sharon left off. Sportime is now part of our family. The boys cant wait to go back. Now they don't have too because our boys will be taking tennis lesson this coming September. I thank all the coaches and counselor that provide a environment where my children are able to express themselves and learn something different than the norm of basketball and football.

Sportime Lynbrook is an okay place. Do not send your kid here if they play basketball. They must get another court because no way I have to pay well over $200 a month to barely be able to go basketball court if your son or daughter plays basketball I would not recommend sportime until they get another court. The Footy referee was more focused on reprimanding her for expressing her vocal outrage that a foul wasn't called. Mind you, she had a fractured cheek bone, bruised ribs, and a concussion. The referee laughed in her face. The other team faced no accountability. The result - she was suspended. Not like she can play any time soon due to her injuries, which may require surgery. Like other reviewers have noted, the refs can be biased, and that bias DOES result in injury. Don't join this league if you value safety.

I've played in these leagues for over a year now, so it kind of hurts to leave a bad review since…read moremy time hasn't been completely awful. However, as some reviews have pointed out, the refs can be very bad and make very biased calls. I've been ran into full speed in the back on breakaways, challenges that could've seriously injured me, only for the ref to call it a fair challenge. Meanwhile, if I challenge someone shoulder to shoulder in a fair play, it's called a foul if my opponent flails enough and looks at the ref. If I were you, I'd avoid Bedford Armory and Lower East Side, where I had experiences with those bad refs. The Brooklyn Bridge one was ok maybe 30% of the time (literally gave me a yellow card for defending his call while ignoring the entire opposing team hollering at him for it). The officials tend to ref the same fields every week. You risk getting injured due to the random nature of their officiating and inability to control games. I'm not sure if it's due to improper training or bias towards certain groups of players and favor towards others as some have pointed out. Whatever it is, it is completely unacceptable for me personally. My dad tore his ACL playing in his adulthood -- I don't want that to happen to me. I may try one more season if a good discount ever rolls around again, but I think I'll see how the refs and players are like around the other NYC leagues afterwards before deciding to come back ever again. It is what it is. I don't expect this review will be received by ownership well, but idrc at this point. Everyone is entitled to their opinion. Please remember that before you crash out on this, Tarek.

The coaches (Ahmed and Younes) were great dealing with small kids with short attention spans and who don't always listen. The kids always had fun and loved getting their stickers at the end of class. Our class was outdoors in the Riverdale area of the Bronx (Fieldston soccer field) which was a perfect and well maintained location. We will definitely look at future class schedules to enroll for a future class.

The coaches are incredibly invested and treat the kids as if they were their own. Our son not only developed better control of the ball, but also a sense of confidence and discipline on and off the field. Jay Montesinos and the rest of the academy members are first of all great with the kids...they keep it fun and still make the kids work hard. Didn't notice it until the last minute but that was a really cool touch. First off, the staff here is so friendly and very easy going. We've gone here once a year ago and it was still just as fun! We had 9 adults, 3 kids, and 1 baby. Everyone had a blast doing mini golf and target paintball. Great price as well and they take a card. They had about 6 picnic tables so there was plenty of seating for everyone and one table for serving the food. The birthday boy was so happy with everything! Also, I'd recommend bringing bug spray since the flies are attracted to Mott's Creek by the mini golf.
