They also upcharge parts by 400%, stay away. On top of all that they have the audacity to tack on a sir charge. As far as speed they are terrible. Stay away from Auto One on Michigan ave, their new location.

Had me in and out in an hour and everyone was very personable. I asked for a general inspection and oil change and they managed to find things that the local dealership hadn't in nearly two years; going above and beyond to make sure everything was double checked and taken care of. Mechanic even went ahead and took care of grease points, tire pressure, and other little odds and ends I wouldn't have recalled to ask for. He also would double back with me to inform me about things he found and recommended getting serviced and/or replaced, showing me the proof of why and offering options. I ended up giving him the go ahead on everything. It was nice to feel involved and informed every step of the process while knowing exactly who was working on my car. They didn't even mind that I just hung around nearby while the work was done, which shows a distinct level of confidence and trustworthiness. Would definitely recommend!

Came here on a Saturday morning around 10am to find all the bays were full (good sign people trust…read morethem). Waited maybe 5-10 minutes?? A young gentlemen came out to greet me, apologized for the wait, and told me which bay was opening soon. Really appreciated being informed! Got the usual full high mileage service & price I get elsewhere; so that tells me I'm not getting jyped. I overheard a conversation of service recovery in the bay next to me. Staff was very courteous, helpful, and understanding when a difficult situation came about. Professional and non confrontational. Thorough check of all lights and tires. Boss man came over and checked to see if I was doing good AND came to help his team. As a leader myself, I like seeing managers in the thick of it. Staff were also helpful to each other and respectful. Great communication. Sam was a great tech! Entire service took about 10-15 mins; which I'm not complaining about. I'd rather have quality over quickness. But it was nice to have a bit of both! Highly recommend!

Since I was going to do the oil change myself i already had the oil (full synthetic) and filter (pre soaked with oil in it). No problem! I got the cheapest service to save some money. They even gave me a small discount for providing my own supplies, Nice touch. I had a Military discount or Senior to choose from.

They'll tell you exactly what you need done here and will never try to sell you on anything. I've actually brought a few different used cars here over the years. It's important to find your local mechanic that you can trust. The place you can bring your car when something is up but you don't know what, and you want to be able to have someone look at it, figure it out... and that you know is being totally honest with what you need and what you don't. I'm so lucky I found that place in Ypsilanti. As Bob has gotten to know me as a regular customer, he's done so much to help me out. He goes out of his way to locate good used parts for me if I can't afford brand new ones. He knows me and takes care of me. I'm glad he really appreciates regulars like that. I just have to call ahead and see what they've got going on... because they DO get really busy, all the time. Think about it, though... isn't it a good sign when the shop is always busy?

TJ Fluellen, the store manager at Midas at 404 E. Michigan Avenue in Ypsilanti, charged me $1025 on…read moreour first visit to his Midas and $869 on the second visit ($1894 total) Both charges were to fix the air-conditioning on our 2014 Honda CRV. Their website says that they provide service for "Car AC and Heating Services". Both attempts to fix the AC failed. I took it back after the 2nd visit and asked for my money back. TJ refused saying he wants his team to try again. His team tried a 3rd time and a 4th time and failed. I ultimately took the car to the Honda dealer, who fixed it with no recurring problems. I have reached out to the Midas District manager, Serah Seales, and repeatedly asked Midas to provide a refund. They are no longer responding to my attempts to contact them and I recently reported them to several consumer advocacy agencies. Potential customers, please be aware that the Ypsilanti Midas did not successfully provide a service they advertise and when they failed, they did not provide a refund. Is Midas driven by pure greed? Is this event evidence of a practice that's been dishonest in the past? I don't know their motive nor history. The whole situation lies in the hands of TJ Fluellin. He could fix this problem but has refused. But I also question the qualifications of the mechanics and want the public to know so that this local business in Ypsilanti might change its ways and become an honest, reliable car service in Washtenaw County.
