I had a miso ramen! My friend had a chicken bowl. It was good- nothing too amazing. I don't usually come to this part of town though!

Set your expectations properly and you'll like this place a lot. It's one of those places where you order at the counter and then pick a table. Luckily we were early because there were 8 of us. My sons and grandson were in town and we decided to go get Ramen. Half boiled egg was perfect. Ramen was tasty. Drinks are canned drinks.

Authentic Ramen in the LaGrange Area! I had the pleasure of visiting the newly opened Japanese Ramen restaurant today. Located conveniently near my home, this place could quickly become my new favorite spot for a hearty bowl of ramen. But It's the restaurant's grand opening day, and I want to leave a good review. Service: The service was exceptional. The staff was friendly and eager to explain the menu offerings. There was a little delay, but I understand it is their first day. Also, they could provide a cup of water. Ambiance: The interior of the restaurant and the restrooms were clean. The simple interior was cozy. The glass window of the main door needs to be cleaned. It's perfect whether you're dining solo, with friends, or with family. Food: The ramen I had today was Sukiyaki Ramen. As a meat lover, the meat in this ramen tasted like Korean bulgogi. I highly recommend this ramen, but the Shrimp Tempura Udon is not recommended. I've tried and reviewed a lot of Japanese restaurants in my life, but I've never found them worth the price. The tempura shrimp tasted like frozen food from the food depot and not homemade. The menu has four udon noodles, but I won't even try the rest. Price: Compared to other Asian Japanese restaurants based on flavor and quality, it is expensive. However, it's their first day, so I'm sure they'll improve. Overall: The udon was definitely not good, but the ramen was excellent. I will return at least once more to try their other ramen dishes. Hopefully, I will be more impressed on my next visit. I wish this local business every success.

While they do have paper menus the first thing you see is the QR code to access the menu. It has a quick service feel to it. You order at the counter and then you find a seat. It seems like they are still learning, but things were resolved quickly. They bring your order to you and they clear your table when you are finished. For the price (which is very reasonable), the food was what you might expect. It was good, but not extraordinary. Please keep in mind, I lived in Japan for a year and I have lived in major cities for parts of my adult life. It filled my craving for Japanese food and my husband liked his spicy ramen. He reports that it was just the perfect spice level. Food came out reasonably quickly and it was hot and fresh. We are definitely short on restaurants and particularly ethnic restaurants in the general Crestwood area and it is a welcome addition. We will return happily and hope you will give it a try as well. I do recommend this restaurant.

This was everything we tried for lunch!

Very delicious Ramen! Only negative was that the eggs are consistently not soft boiled. Almost seems premade which makes them dry later on!

Kiwami comes pretty close to meeting my criteria. Quality: yes. 100%. Excellent ingredients, tasteful decor, sturdy serving bowls, whimsical ladles for slurping broth. Weird that the chopsticks are disposable while other utensils are not. Variety: erm. Yes for people who are not plant-based. I would love to see additional vegan options in all entree categories (tofu poke bowl, please). The veggie ramen was fabulous as was the edamame. Just more. Taste: A+. The broth was complex and glorious, the kale noodles lovely, the toppings (brussels spouts, broccoli, tofu, avocado) all prepared and seasoned perfectly. Temperature: yes. Nice and hot. Perfect. Texture: noodles were cooked perfectly with just the right amount of chew, however toppings were all pretty homogenous in texture. The raw greens on top were a little strange. It would have been nice to have a crispy or crunchy element. Value: I mean, Kiwami is a ramen place on Bardstown Road. I didn't expect a deal. I paid $20 for a bowl of ramen plus tip. Not ridiculous, but also not a price that allows me to visit as often as I would like. Overall, Kiwami has earned my respect and likely repeat business, especially if they add more vegan options and offer a repeat customer discount.

Nice interior, very good service…read more We arrived just before happy hour ended so we took advantage and ordered two appetizers, one pork and one vegetable gyoza. Both were very fresh and delicious. My entree was the Kiwami Shiro (pork broth, scallion, mushroom, bamboo, egg, pulled pork, sliced pork, noodles). The broth was incredible and pulled the whole thing together. I definitely want to come here again and try more items off the menu.

I was fortunate to be with a large party and we decided to order several dishes and share. Everything was delicious, and the banana flower salad was memorable and we ordered two. Five stars, no notes. I love this place…read more The staff is so welcoming, funny, and great at what they do. Every time I have a cocktail it is delightfully balanced. I think my cocktail was called the Tokyo Pop? Not positive but you have to get it. Gin, bubbles, sake, and a hint of lemon in a flute glass. Refreshing, a hint of sweet, a hint of lemon, and extremely drinkable. It would be too easy to throw a ton of these back. But I was demure and had one. I enjoyed the calamari--my go-to here. Crispy, with a bit of heat from pickled peppers, a bit a of sweet form a sweet glaze, and a nice herby zing from mint, herbs, and scallions. They also top the calamari with a a nice portion of greens dressed in a lemon vinaigrette, making this appetizer feel close to a light meal. I am absolutely obsessed with the ponzu mayo that comes on the side. An absolutely delightful touch. I also enjoyed the chocolate cream pot. Talk about decadent. I love that it is served with berries, because you need that tartness to balance out the richness. Fully indulgent. Bonus points: I working fireplace. (And holiday decor still up--this never bothers me.) The ambiance is always lovely, with something iconic on the TV always playing. This spot is one of my fave representation of the Louisville food scene.

For appetizer we ordered Hawaiian poke salad, the fish was not fresh at all!! The marinated egg that comes with it looked nasty af & they def froze it & reheated it. I do not recommend the sushi portion & I asked to substitute the reg salmon to smoked & the waiter did not know wtf I was talking about & I was sitting there like bruh. They do not serve smoked salmon on their menu which is crazy for a place that serves sushi, anywayssss. Their ramen bussing af, & the meat portions are insane. I ate mine all the way down!! My partner said my pork/chicken broth was better than his beef & imo pork ramen is superior! Portions are crazy & it was extremely filling!! We both ordered bobas & dessert, their green tea cheesecake is mild & subtle of flavor & creamy. I enjoyed my galaxy honeydew tea with strawberry popping boba that the server recommended, but it seems at the bottom they put chai seeds too? I'm not entirely sure what was at the bottom but it did add interesting texture! We def would go back for just ramen & desserts! Place was nicely decorated & I love the simple interior.
