Everything came out quickly and so fresh! They serve everything in togo containers which is different. We got the Volcano Roll (Crab delight with spicy crab on top and crunch) it was 5 stars, Philadelpha, fried sweet potato, avocado and side of noodles. Everything was great and I would order it again! I am addicted to Bento Asian Kitchen's Jalapeño Chicken. I seriously crave this dish way too much!!! If you love hot & spicy deliciousness you MUST go to Bento and order Jalapeño Chicken. Located in Middletown Bento is located close to Crumble Cookie, Feeders Supply Walmart. The staff are so nice and it's super clean. I like how they bring your food in to go containers because the amount is so much. Just put your lid on and take off. Perfect. 1/7/26 We had 14 of the residents of Swan Pointe HOA gather at Bento Asian Kitchen for dinner. It's a good sized restaurant so that we had plenty of room to eat and talk. We went up to the register and gave Taylor our order. She was so friendly and helpful. The meals were each prepared as we ordered them and the owner's mother delivered our food. Alex, the owner stopped by to check on us and see how we were doing. Our food was really good. There was Chicken Teriyaki and Beef Boxes that had vegetables and rice. You could choose a Beef, Tender Chicken Teriyaki or Shrimp box. Choice of white, brown, or fried rice, or noodles. Side options: Gyoza, veggie, soups, rolls or Rangoon. A small salad with Ginger dressing came with the Bento Box, also. There was a lot of food in that meal. They also had Teriyaki Chicken or Steak Bowl with teriyaki sauce over your choice of white rice, brown rice, fried rice, or noodles. They had Orange Chicken, Sesame Chicken, General Tso's Tofu. I'm sure it was an off day... but almost still frozen fish that is raw... not really our thing. The extra icy and off flavors were enough for us to just pack it up and go. Seems like a pretty popular place. There were a few people eating. Myself & about 4 others were waiting on to-go orders. They had a ton of to-go orders filled on the counter waiting to go out. I placed my order online around 8pm on a Saturday & it was ready within 15 minutes. Not bad. The service was friendly & they moved fast. I followed a review on the coconut shrimp. I just got a kids meal to give them a try. Plus under $10 for a pretty good portion. 4 shrimp, your choice of rice or side & they give edamame. Some sides are $1 extra. I personally loved the shrimp. The breading is thick & sweet. That's what I like with my coconut shrimp. I would ask them to be well done next time.The dipping sauce was so sweet but complimented the shrimp so well. Pretty subpar service. We ordered 3 standard bubble teas. It took 20 minutes to get them. After a 15 minute wait, I asked the girl at the counter about our order. She looked in the back, shrugged and told me they were slow. And then sat back down to look at her phone. There were 3 tables seated and they all had food. Traveling from California we were tired of anything fast food. We landed in Louisville/Middleton KY. We checked out Texas Roadhouse but it was super busy so I wondered around and came across Bento. At first glance the place is disorganized but staff seemed to be running on all cylinders. I would hide all the boxes and boxes and install a couple of booths. I didn't even know they sold beer but I saw a box? Maybe it's an empty beer box? Now the food. The kids meal with coconut shrimp was the star. Or should I say the coconut shrimp I say the COCONUT SHRIMP WAS THE BOMB. The spicy salmon roll was so so and the Shrimp Tempura was better. These rolls are smaller what we are used to but for five bucks who is complaining? The tea came pipping hot and ready to take away. Our cashier was super nice and helped us nicely. My wife ate all the California rolls so I can't speak of those, although when I asked her she said they were good. .... We are spoiled and we eat them once a week in California. What was missing was the little Dishes to mix the wasabi and soy sauce? They did offer nice fresh ginger and additional (mild) wasabi upon asking. First of all I ordered this on Grubhub and it was delivered over 30 minutes late. I would normally blame the delivery service but the last couple of times I have been here it took much longer than it should have to get my food. As one can imagine my poke bowl was warm. I had to spend more time getting it to the proper temperature. Now to get to the food. It wasn't bad but it didn't taste as fresh as I would like. I love the concept of the restaurant and the variety of options. A co-worker had recommended her favorite - rice bowl with teriyaki chicken and vegetables. However, my friend and I had ordered 4 appetizers and a couple of salads to sample for dinner last night. We had ordered tempura veggies and shrimp, 2 spring rolls, bang bang shrimp, and an order of the scallion pancake. The staff was friendly and efficient. I thought it was really weird how everything we ordered came out in styrofoam and plastic boxes, even when we had eaten inside the restaurant. Our table was covered with square open styrofoam containers instead of plates of food. The ginger salad was a clear plastic box of iceberg lettuce topped with your basic ginger dressing. We had to ask for more dressing because there was barely enough to wet the lettuce. Because the deep fried tempura veggies and shrimp, the bang bang shrimp and eggrolls were placed into closed boxes, the food was chewy, kind of wet, and had no crunch. The flavor was fine, but I expected the deep fried tempura batter to be crunchy when you eat it freshly made inside a restaurant. Even though the food was hot, sitting for a couple of minutes in a closed box was enough time to get the fried batter moist and loose the crunch. I would recommend the restaurant change its eat-in policy to cut down on all the landfill waste from the plastic and styrofoam containers, and just simply put the food on plates, or open bento boxes. The deep fried food's texture would stay crunchy instead of chewy and wet. read more

I love Bento, but their service isn't that great. I've ordered there a few times and every time something has been wrong with it. The first time, I ordered a poke bowl with two proteins and they totally forgot one of them. I didn't realize it until I got home and it was too far of a drive to go back. Another time, I ordered a poke bowl with three proteins (double the spicy crab and shrimp tempura) and it had a very small portion shrimp tempura and not much spicy crab. It's super disappointing when you pay $14 and don't get what you order. They load the poke bowls up on rice and barely give you any other ingredients. For $12-$14 you should get way more toppings than they give you. Middletown is becoming such a fun part of town to grab a meal in. Among the strip malls and new developments, there are great restaurants mixed in. So when I found myself in the area, I wanted to make the most of it. I had been reading such great things about Bento Asian Kitchen + Sushi; tonight was finally my time to try it! I easily submitted my to-go order via their website, and it was waiting for me when I walked in about 25 minutes later. It was hard to decide what to get, but I ultimately went with a poke bowl with sushi rice, spicy crab, tuna poke, avocado, edamame, pineapple, cucumber, ponzu sauce and tagarashi seasoning. For $11, this was a bowl that easily filled me up. Plus the ingredients tasted fresh. The whole bowl was a bright and refreshing treat. I would get this again in a heartbeat. My husband got the jalapeno chicken teriyaki bowl, and my mother-in-law got the basic chicken teriyaki bowl. I snuck a bite. The chicken had such a great flavor, and my husband and MIL very much liked their entrees as well. The only part of the meal that was a bit lackluster was the taro boba tea. This was mostly ice and had maybe just a dozen tiny boba in it (even despite paying 50 cents extra for the boba). But all things considered -- and because we're in the middle of a pandemic, when we should be giving everyone a little more grace and patience -- this was a great meal and an awesome price that I'm giving five stars. Because I'm wimpy with spicy I asked for it mild, and really enjoyed it - flavorful without putting my mouth on fire. I saved half for lunch the next day and it was even better. I also recommend the crab rangoon. I do not like versions with a bunch of onion so if you're the same, you'll enjoy theirs. We got a couple of thai milk teas with pearls. My first time here a few years ago and it was good. I always get the teriyaki bento box. Chicken and shrimp. It's easy enough to place an order online and I only had to wait a few minutes more when I got there. The ambiance is family oriented or even for a first date. They serve Boba so it was also a no brainer for me. This time I ordered the teriyaki chicken and shrimp and it was disgusting. Watered down and flavorless. It also had a bad fishy smell to it that I didn't catch until I got it 20 home to eat. The shrimp or chicken had gone bad but was coke anyway it seemed. My stomach is upset as I write this. What a wonderful hidden gem this is! I was looking for lunch in Middletown, and the great reviews for this spot caught my eye. The menu is expansive- not just sushi and bento, but teriyaki bowls, noodles, poke bowls, and more! I started with the fried pork gyoza, which was serviced with a sweet sauce. The dumplings were crispy and delicious, and we ate them so fast I forgot to take a picture! I'm not sure I would share these next time, since there were only about five small dumplings. For my meal I got the orange chicken wok bowl with fried rice. It was one of the best orange chicken dishes I've had in recent memory. The sauce was delicious, not spicy and with the right amount of orange. The chicken was tender white meat, with a crispy breading, and the rice tasted freshly fried. They also served the orange chicken with broccoli, which added a nice freshness to the dish. The person I was with ordered the teriyaki chicken with white rice. It was served with mixed vegetables. This dish was good but pretty basic, and would be an awesome vehicle for some of the many sauces they offer. Because this was my first time here I played it safe, but I definitely plan on going back and trying some of the other other offerings. I have ordered takeout and delivery from here several times. I actually haven't been into the restaurant yet because it's always so convenient to order from them. I typically either order the sushi or a poke bowl. The sushi is pretty simple here but every roll I've gotten is fresh and tasty! I haven't found many places in Louisville that have good poke bowls, and I'd have to say Bento actually has one of the best! The prices are really great here too. We really enjoyed this place, this was our first time here and we got food to go. I got crab Rangoon's, a shrimp tempura roll and a crunchy roll. The rolls were full of flavor and delicious. My boyfriend got the chicken pad Thai and a ginger salad. He didn't care for the ginger salad, but he enjoyed the pad Thai and the portion size was huge. I don't find myself having 5 star-worthy Asian restaurants often, but maybe I've just been going to the wrong places... Bento is a quick service Asian restaurant that just recently opened in Middletown. I believe it is a chain, due to the fact that I heard a patient raving about it, saying he used to go there all the time in Texas. Thankfully Bento is just down the street from my office, therefore it made a quick and easy lunch hour meal. The resataurant is nice. It is clean and decorated to have a modern look. There is quite a bit to choose from on the menu, as you have your bento boxes and a sushi menu. I went with the chicken katsu box, which came with a HECK of a lot of food. Along with the entree, you also get a salad, choice of rice, and another side. I opted for fried rice and crab rangoon. My plate already came with duck and soy sauce, and they have a bottle of yum yum sauce you can use as well. The chicken was a bit different from what I was expecting; I was thinking it was like traditional fried chicken, but it came more as a pork chop-like slice. It was totally fine though, and went great with the sauce. The rice was good, and the crab rangoon was really, really good. I think I ended up spending $13 with a soda, which honestly wasn't bad for how much food I received. Note: Even though this place just opened a week ago, it gets CRAZY busy during lunch hour, so be careful. On the better visit I ordered the poke bowl, which was fresh, tasty, and nicely presented, but a little skimpy for $11 (I've had $11 two-protein poke bowls at many places across the nation, and this one gets my vote for least generous serving). Still, quite tasty and nicely put together, so positive overall. On the second visit I got a namesake bento box with chicken teriyaki, and the chicken had a very strange rubbery texture. It was quite weird. I couldn't even tell if I'd been served white or dark meat; that's how unusual it was. Next time I'll try a beef or shrimp box.
