Customer service here is outstanding, and the food is absolutely delicious! The only thing missing is more locations because this place is truly everything. The staff (and even the customers) were so friendly, which made the experience even better. My teenagers and I loved it. we'll definitely be coming back!

Impressed by their homage to a traditional setting and fusion of food. Located near UofL this is an ideal location for the area. Not too far off the freeway. We arrived just in time to beat the crowd. Thank you for our military discount. Hubby enjoyed the broth from my Chicken Shio over his Bourbon Shoyu. He opted not to spice his up and go with the set flavor. But he also gave me his spoon that had some chili flavor in it that likely would have made the difference for him. Competitve pricing and everyone on staff we met was friendly. Looking forward to seeing an expanded menu on another visit. Bummed they didn't have the Ube Melon Pan, hopefully they'll have it next time. Would love to see an expansion of desserts. Maybe an omurice on the menu? The Okonomiyaki Tots were perfect. Will try the onigiri when we visit again.

Finally got to return post fire! They are putting this spot back together rather nicely. Food was good as always, although my dragon bowl z was a lot spicier than i remembered. So be prepared for spice! Tried a different ramen and can confirm, you can't go wrong here. Can't wait to return when the weather cools down!

Had to try this place out since hearing it opened. We don't have a lot of ramen places in town. And for me, Ramen House is one of the best options though it has a Korean twist. We had ordered online and came to pick up. Not busy at all. One person waiting for food and two others dining in. It was close to 6pm on a Thursday. It looks like you order at the counter, they give you a number, then you sit down. Cafeteria style. There's a good amount of seating inside. Anyway, we ordered Tonkotsu which is only available on Thursdays, chicken shio, and the bourbon shoyu. The broth was just okay. A bit light and not rich, like I'm used to. Could've been more flavorful but I know that making ramen broth is difficult so I commend them for making their own version. The toppings were kinda skimpy. Not much in it. And the marinated egg was salty. Sad! The meat was okay. Not as tender and melt in your mouth as I'm used to. The prices aren't bad. I'm used to paying more for ramen. The portion size is good. I couldn't finish my ramen but it was likely because I snacked heavily right before eating. They also had melon pan, so we tried the ube one. Not bad! It tasted like pandesal but with a nice sugary ube touch. Parking is parallel but we found a spot on the side of the building.

We were their last customer to leave Saturday night and their first to arrive when they re-opened Wednesday for lunch. Another fabulous meal at @renshoku_ramen. karaage and bourbon shoyu and we each had a teriyaki pork bowl. This place is killing the ramen game folks!!! Go get it.

A gem of Lousiville, one of the few spots in the city for great ramen. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting. There were many areas to sit and each place had water + utensils ready for you. A cycle of anime shows play on the tv while music quietly jams in the background. The food is yummy and the workers were nice, helpful, and made sure we were comfortable. I was saddened to hear of the fire and wish the best for everyone it affected Will support in any way I can. Love Renshoku!

I didn't get to try the ramen but I had a teriyaki pork bowl! It was filling but I felt like it needed more flavor like with a vegetable or spices with it. I do want to come back here and try the ramen!

Renshoku Ramen was such an enjoyable experience. I have been on a quest for good ramen in Louisville that has left me largely disappointed, but Renshoku Ramen put a smile on my face. I ordered the bourbon shoyu ramen and the Japanese fried chicken. The food was good. The ramen was probably the best I've tried in Louisville so far. It doesn't compare to the good ramen I've had in places like NY and LA, but for Louisville it was good. I do enjoy more thicker soup bases so I would like to see how they handle a tonkotsu broth, maybe in the future. The Japanese fried chicken was great. There was nothing particularly special about it, but it was a lot of good fried chicken for a low price. The dipping sauce it came with also tasted very good. Better than the food is the environment. This is the only place where I took pictures of the inside because it was that nice. It reminds me of real ramen places and has such a nice atmosphere with the sunlight coming through. They've got water and condiments at the tables for self-service and the workers are all very nice. I asked for more dipping sauce, not knowing that it costed extra, but they were nice enough to give me one anyways. As can be seen from the pictures, this isn't the place to go with large groups, but an excellent choice by yourself or with a small group of friends. Renshoku Ramen was a very enjoyable experience and I hope to frequent it. The food is good, the environment stellar, and I'm hoping the menu might expand as well!

    Spicy pork ramen

Writing this with the food still in front of me because it's just so good I needed to share it. Bf got the spicy tonkatsu ramen (level 3) and I got the karaage bowl. Both are fantastic. The chicken is some of the best I've had in a while and the ramen noodles were cooked perfectly and the broth was so flavorful. We also got the Japanese potato salad and it was good too. Was nice to have to balance out the spice of the ramen. Will definitely be back again and again. Fast and friendly service and it's a cute little place. Seems great for a quick solo lunch or a quick couples spot

I love ramen. Louisville has ramen. Some is good, some is okay. Renshoku Ramen is phenomenal. I've been a big fan since their very first pre-COVID pop-up and have been following their journey since that time. From clandestine appearances at local bars and restaurants to manning a booth offering take-home ramen kits and spices at VegFest, Renshoku Ramen has become a part of the Louisville community, and as such I was SO excited when they announced plans to establish a brick and mortar location. My first of many visits to their new home in Old Louisville was everything I hoped for and more. There are 25 seats, which are first-come-first serve, so you may end up making a new friend (this is a good thing, because everyone who eats at Renshoku is lovely). The menu is posted outside, at the door, and at the register. Order and eat everything. The staff is delightful - so personable, genuine, and helpful. The food - oh the food. I am in love with the vegan umeboshi onigiri, and was fortunate enough to snag one before they sold out the evening we dined. There are several ramen options, and always a vegan choice. Currently it's roasted veggie miso, with toppings that include vegan burger crumbles, roasted corn and chickpeas, and bamboo shoots. The noodles - perfect chew, excellent flavor. Truly, the best ramen I've had in Louisville. And I've had most of it. For the quality, pricing is fair, running between $9.95-$13.95 per bowl. Basically I love Renshoku Ramen and you should too. Just please leave me some umeboshi onigiri.

All the food was delish! We got some onigiri, karage, and ramen bowls. Onigiri could use more filling but still very tasty. Karage came perfectly fried and the sauce went amazingly well with it. Squeeze some lemon juice on top of the chicken, dip it in the sauce and mmmm! Perfect bite. The ramen was delicious. The broth was light but flavorful. There are some ramen seasonings at the table that can be added if needed. I really loved the noodles! Perfectly firm and chewy, not soggy like they can sometimes become. Service was quick and friendly, the food came out in a timely manner. I'm sure they're working on it but the restaurant is in need of AC and definitely heat in the winter.

Looks more substantial than it is. (READ: shallow, conical bowl that goes cold too quickly.)

Worth checking out (if only to encourage folks to check out and support new restaurants in Old Louisville!) I came here on a Saturday around 6:30pm in mid-August with a friend and found no A/C despite the humidity and generally sweaty "ambiance" that seeped from outside into the actual establishment. That alone should make you think twice, depending on your level of personal comfort. There is signage advising that you must order from the designated counter before you sit, so there's immediately a "cafeteria" vibe afoot. I suppose this reflects the times (order and tip from a payment device instead of sitting down and expecting personalized service.) There are only 2 tables in the whole place. The rest of the seating consists of shelf-y bar or countertop seating. The existing tables only seat 2. I chalk this up to another numbers game. If customers have no reason to stay (no drinks, no camaraderie/conversation, then tables will turn over quickly.) There is zero atmosphere. You get a number to set onto your tabletop after ordering. The food is fast (maybe too fast) because the portions are tiny. My dining companion remarked more than once that the bowls were too small for the price. Are we old and remembering older days of ramen? I'd rather think not. I ordered the sampling of "rice balls" at 3 for $10. Mostly rice plus condescending advice from the server on how to open them! Wink. I might return because it's within walking distance to my house, but I can't shout from the rooftops that you HAVE to go. I only ate 75% of my rice balls because the person I was dining with finished her (tiny) ramen too quickly. Also, my last rice ball tasted sour. They do have iced water on all the tables which is not unusual for certain restaurants, but it is slightly better than having to ask it or witness other diners order water without actually drinking it. What's the best part of visiting Renshoku Ramen? Vying for one of the 2-tops like it's a WWE match.

I think my cocktail was called the Tokyo Pop? Not positive but you have to get it. Gin, bubbles, sake, and a hint of lemon in a flute glass. Refreshing, a hint of sweet, a hint of lemon, and extremely drinkable. It would be too easy to throw a ton of these back. But I was demure and had one. I enjoyed the calamari--my go-to here. Crispy, with a bit of heat from pickled peppers, a bit a of sweet form a sweet glaze, and a nice herby zing from mint, herbs, and scallions. They also top the calamari with a a nice portion of greens dressed in a lemon vinaigrette, making this appetizer feel close to a light meal. I am absolutely obsessed with the ponzu mayo that comes on the side. An absolutely delightful touch. I also enjoyed the chocolate cream pot. Talk about decadent. I love that it is served with berries, because you need that tartness to balance out the richness. Fully indulgent. Bonus points: I working fireplace. (And holiday decor still up--this never bothers me.) The ambiance is always lovely, with something iconic on the TV always playing. Twelve years ago, my dear friend began breeding Goldendoodles: to produce dogs capable of changing lives and they did (Many Many Lives) One of those puppies is Ozzy. Ozzy isn't "just a dog." His partner. His freedom. Recently, Kevin and Ozzy attempted to enter THIS restaurant together. Instead of being welcomed, they were turned away. They were asked for identification for Ozzy. They were told they could only dine outside only there was no outside dining . They were even told Kevin could come inside if he tied Ozzy up outside and left him there.
