Surprisingly tasty food. My daughter and I called ahead since we were charging our Tesla and didn't want to wait long. When we arrived, we were pleasantly surprised that our table was ready for us, food piping hot, and drinks set out. I got the spicy Thai chicken. My daughter got the beef noodle dish. We both loved our dishes. I'd say the beef noodles was slightly tastier than my chicken but both were great. The CA roll was fine but missing cucumber. We live in the Bay Area and have been coming down here lately for some gold prospecting. The first time we came, we couldn't find a restaurant that was good and open around 9:00 pm, but then we came across Oishii. We've been here twice so far and we love it. We get the Cherry blossom and Scott roll, and short rib noodle plate. All absolutely delicious, and service is great! Very kind ladies, quick service, pretty chill ambiance inside. My wife and I were one of their first customers. Food was good service was great. Had a few hit or miss meals so we stopped going. We went back after a few months and it was good but lunch for 2 $54.32 was too much. The reason I'm posting this is we hope Scott looks at the attached photos. The outside of the restaurant looks like nobody cares anymore. Our lunch today was OK. Tofu tasted old. Tempura was greasy which means the oil wasn't hot enough. I placed a phone order and was told the wait time would be approximately 35 minutes. When I arrived nearly 40 minutes later, I was informed that my order had never been sent to the kitchen because it had been forgotten. At that point, I was asked to wait an additional 10 minutes for my food to be prepared. Unfortunately, I was on a tight schedule and could not stay any longer, so I had to leave without my order. This was very disappointing, especially since I had planned my time around the wait estimate that was provided. Mistakes can happen, but I would have appreciated better communication and attention to customer orders. Great little place with delicious food. Highly recommend the "salads" with the fresh fruit, avocado, cabbage salad and protein! Worth the extra $1 vs. the rice plates... We had the teriyaki salmon which was perfectly cooked! Not overdone and dry like many restaurants. Also had the teriyaki beef and our server noticed that it looked overdone as she set it down, and immediately offered to replace it while we are the salad... Easy parking, located near Bowling and a gas station, this spot has some of the best Japanese food I've had in the U.S. The chicken teriyaki and popcorn chicken teriyaki were delicious. The 49ers Roll had a good amount of fresh salmon and rice ratio with the right amount of lemon on top. The California roll was super filling and the pieces were pretty thick too. The seaweed salad was fresh and the miso soup was refreshing. The vegetable tempura was light and crispy. The salmon salad was also light, fresh and nicely seasoned. Who knew Auburn was home to some of the best teriyaki in Northern California? Stopped here based on bestie Cam's recommendation on our way home from Reno, and it was excellent. Surprisingly this was the first time I have tried this place. But was craving some chicken rice and some sauce, if you know what I mean. Came in her early on a Monday so it was pretty empty but it seems like it gets a lot of online orders as people kept flowing in and out. All the ladies working up front were very friendly and gave good service. I ordered the two piece combo plate with teriyaki chicken and Thai chicken. It was served with rice a salad and some cabbage. The teriyaki chicken wasn't as saucy as I was expecting but it was cooked perfectly and I enjoyed it very much. The Thai chicken was also good and as I got deeper into the plate it got spicier. I go there and place the order, it's a nice little place. Waitresses were cheery and friendly. Not bad bit of ambiance for the place either. Consensus of the home is the food was delicious, if a bit pricey for three dishes totaling almost $50. Folks enjoyed their tempura plates, they raved the broccoli was delicious. As for me my beef noodles were good although they must have different definition of what a medium heat spice is because this was spicy and I love spicy food but I was expecting it to be a subtler heat. If this is medium to them I don't think I want to know what hot is. Still I would recommend it for like your special occasion dinners like a birthday or an anniversary, some kind of event you wouldn't mind spending a lot of money on for good food. We tried this place when they fist opened It was terrible About 3 years later we recently gave it another shot My teriyaki beef and chicken was much better but wife, who's not a picky eater, said her salmon sushi was the worst she has ever had. She strongly believe the salmon in the middle was fake. It was horrible And the salmon on the outside was so small and thin you couldn't taste it. Coming from an Asian guy that grew up in the Bay Area, this food was surprisingly good! You can really taste the difference in the chicken and beef teriyaki. There's a nice grilled flavor that adds a depth and richness to the meat. Loved the teriyaki sauce and was excited that they leave a whole bottle of it on the table to season to your liking. Adjusted some of the requests easily like salad dressing on side , Order placed, confirmed on email and headed over. They also have sushi which next visit I'll try. The packaging is a ten. However, we were told the wait would be about 20 min for the food, and it was more like 45 min -- a long time for a kiddo to wait for dinner!
