Happy Mother's Day!! Today for Mother's Day, we decided to celebrate with my neighbor and have the best sushi in town here at Jinme. Jinme is consistent. Delicious every single time... so tonight, we celebrated with my daughter. We sat right away and how gorgeous was it tonight!? Balloons, streamers, and Mother's Day table cloths. After a little bit, our server came over and we ordered sunomono and vegetable tempura. Their vegetable tempura was a mixture of the vegetables, in one. Like a birds nest. It came with 4 pieces and a dipping sauce. It was different, but very good. The sunomono (cucumber salad) was cut in half into thin slices without the seeds, and the dressing on it was delicate and went so good with the cucumbers. Quite a bit of time had passed and we were given some complimentary spring rolls to snack on. The sauce it came with was a little spicy & sweet. We ordered a Simba roll, Auburn City roll, 49ers Roll, the Ultimate Roll, and salmon sashimi. All looked fantastic! The sashimi came with miso (as an appetizer). We will ended up sharing everything with each other. I really like that baked salmon roll (Simba). It has a sweet mayo on top. The Salmon Sashimi is my favorite bc the salmon on top is made with high quality salmon belly. The freshness makes me crave this often. The 49ers roll was delicious. It was different from your regular sushi rolls with rice in the outside. it had an entire cucumber casing on the outside of it. The Auburn Roll has thick pieces of red rings and salmon throughout... what a dream... Lastly, we ordered moochi ice cream and deep fried strawberry ice cream... both were out of this world!! This was the first time I have ordered dessert here and it was phenomenal! Strawberry just gets me! Our service was great! The decorations were a cute touch, too. Went to get some food on our way to the river grabbed a menu and went to the counter to order and was ignored by everyone! No eye contact from the cooks which was fine. But to be ignored by 2 different young men who were both close enough to touch would not look at me nor smile or say hello we will be right with you, NOTHING!! So I left w/o any food! Dang this place disappointed me yesterday.. went there at 7:30pm and was ignored until I asked if someone would take our order 30 min later. It was busy but at least say something ya know? Also they didn't have uni :( and they never made my kani but charged us for it.... ‍ and the rice was SO dry, like I think they turned off the rice cooker or something and made it. It was so sad... and way too much rice with no fish this time :( it's unfortunate this place isn't consistent... maybe I will give it one more chance. read more

I had a group of five myself and four boys. We got the restaurant 45 minutes before closing. The service is quick, efficient and thorough. The food that we received was some of the best Ramen I've ever tasted was just a little bit of kimchi to add a different kick . That was really nice. I've been coming here for years but the past couple of times the customer service has just been horrible. I called at 8:10pm to place a to go order and was told that the order would take over an hour and was asked if I'm okay with that. I said "yes, but wouldn't that be past your closing time" she responded with "yeah so it's up to you". I don't know what to say to that so I said "well I don't want to make y'all stay late so nevermind, and she said thank you I appreciate that and hung up. I've never had this response from a restaurant especially when I called to order 50 mins before closing but needless to say I'm done ordering from here. read more

I was really disappointed with my experience eating here. It was very busy and very loud in the restaurant, which is obviously not the establishment's fault....but it took a substantial amount of time for our server to actually acknowledge us and take our order, which they messed up by forgetting my husband's entree. The sushi was not very tasty, with the Spicy Johnny Roll tasting extremely fishy. The saving grace was the Chicken Teriyaki bowl which was very good. $100+ bill definitely not worth it and bummed I decided to spend my birthday evening here. I would MAYBE come back if I wanted a teriyaki bowl, but I would steer clear of the sushi. read more

They gave us a mochi dessert for my son on the house with candles and sang happy birthday . We tried the kimchi fried rice for the first time and it was delicious ! Great place to grab sushi or ramen... even a bento box! I've been to Jinme several times and almost always get sushi. Their fish is very fresh and decently priced for the quality that you get. Don't expect any 50% off rolls here! That being said, they also have ramen in their name, so I figured I'd give it a try. Glad I did! I met a friend for dinner and she brought her dog (he goes with her everywhere). They have outdoor seating, so it is the spot to be if you have a dog with you. The outdoor seating area was covered and is well lit for dining at night like we were. The staff were very accommodating and even brought a bowl of water for her dog! Our server was very outgoing and bubbly. Great qualities to have. Now the food- we started with the garlic edamame, which was cooked and coated in garlic. It was a perfect amount of garlic... not overpowering, but a perfect amount. Wasn't sure that was even possible! We ate the whole bowl because it was so delicious, which is rare because we always seem to have leftover edamame. Not this time! I ordered the Tonkotsu ramen, which comes with braised pork belly, egg, tempura shrimp, spinach, bamboo shoots, wood ear, bean sprouts, and green onions in a house pork broth. So flavorful! The bamboo shoots were some of the best I've had. The ramen noodles were green, which was unexpected, but had great flavor... they must have been spinach based. The tempura shrimp was still crispy even though it was in the broth. Overall, the ramen was great and a perfect portion. Not a HUGE bowl, yet enough to fill me up. My friend got the Beef Teriyaki bowl. What you'd think is your basic bowl- teriyaki beef over vegetables and rice. But, oh my gosh, the beef was so tender! Almost like Bulgogi tender. I was actually jealous of her meal. I'll probably get that next time. Also a perfect serving size. Overall, a great place to grab some sushi, Korean, Japanese, or ramen. I've never had anything I didn't enjoy. The prices are very reasonable and the portions are good. read more

Found this place looking for ramen in Auburn because I was in town for work. The food was great and the service was excellent as well. We sat outside in their covered patio which looked nice and chill. We ordered the yum yum ribs, garlic edamame, spicy pork ramen, godfather roll, and a bottle of lychee nigori. They were out of the lychee nigori but offered us the banzai bunny as an alternative which we accepted. The drink was delicious and we finished the entire bottle! The restaurant gave us egg rolls on the house, and it was delicious vegetarian style, fresh, and crispy. The edamame didn't make it out, probably because it was a busy evening, but it was ok because we ended up getting stuffed and the egg rolls were already a satisfying alternative. The staff reprinted our receipt with the edamame removed and it was a quick and easy interaction. The staff was very attentive, prompt, and we had a great overall experience. We were seated right away. Nice clean restaurant. Mostly chair seating. Bright large windows. Wait staff friendly and attentive . To start we ordered the edamame with salt. They were good but I did wish they were served warm as opposed to very cold. I think I would have enjoyed it a bit more. We ordered the Grass Valley roll to share. This consists of rice, shrimp, crab, albacore, cucumber with a teriyaki glaze and crumbs. I've got to say I was shocked how much I liked it. I thought how could Auburn have good sushi? Wow was I wrong. It tasted fresh and delicious. The soft bite along with the crispy crumbs gave a pleasant mouth feel. Loved the teriyaki glaze that added a nice sweetness to it too. For dinner I ordered the salmon teriyaki bento box with rice and sesame topping and small cucumber salad and tempura veggies. The salmon teriyaki was cooked just right and the tempura veggies tasted interesting in a good way. The batter reminded me of and tasted similar to onion rings. Not feeling very confident about Japanese or Korean food, so I played it safe and ordered chicken teriyaki. Not a long wait in the "outdoor" dining area. Don't look for ambience at this place. Clean, but utilitarian setting. Friendly, helpful servers. The serving was large for one diner, but not enough for two diners to share. I liked the cabbage. Chicken was nicely prepared. The teriyaki sauce did not initially appear to be enough to flavor the whole bowl of veges, rice and meat, but it was! And, very nicely done, too--just salty/sweet enough without overpowering the teriyaki flavors. Recommend. read more
