Discovered this quaint Thai restaurant in a non-descript strip mall off I-80 while traveling between the Bay area and Reno. We visited at 2 PM on a Friday for lunch, and we were the only customers at this late hour (they close at 2:30 PM and reopen later for dinner). Ambiance was good, restaurant was clean, and there was ample seating. Service was great, very attentive (well, we were the only customers!). Menu selection was varied. Pricing was average. The four of us ordered: Pra Ram with chicken, Pad See Ew with chicken, Yellow curry with chicken, and Red curry with chicken. Dishes were flavorful (but not as flavorful as my favorite bay area Thai restaurant). Portions were good. Food was served quickly. Nice to have Asian food options in Auburn! read more

Stopped by this spot after a hike. The staff was really friendly. I like that they have photos of the food on the menus. The portions are really big and the prices are good! We ordered the Fresh Avocado Rolls ($12.95) and the Grilled Beef Salad ($15.95). The avocado roll was super refreshing and the peanut sauce that came with it was warm and flavorful. The beef salad was flavorful as well but a bit too tangy for my liking. The beef part was also cold but I assumed it was going to be warm/hot. read more

Our group came here after a hike in the area. The lady that served us was extremely kind and made accommodations as requested, such as adding spice to pad thai. Our group ordered the avocado rolls, chicken pad thai , beef fried rice, and grilled beef salad. The flavors of these dishes were really rich and the portions were huge! I definitely feel the price to food ratio was fantastic. The grilled beef salad was described to be spicy, but we didn't taste the spice. It was more tangy/salty. Otherwise, it tasted good. The food here is delicious, but be warned of their heat scale. 6 of us ordered different dishes to share, most medium heat (3). We all thought it was more like a 5. We had to order a plate of tamarind shrimp with no chili so that one of our friends could eat! We went for a late Saturday lunch with family members and we were not disappointed. The food, service, and restaurant were all great. My fiancée is a sucker for gyoza and theirs was amazing. They had a perfect crunch and the fillings were yummy too. Every Thai place we go to I always get yellow curry, it's my absolute favorite and theirs was exceptional. I always order double chicken as well since usually the amount of chicken is lacking but mine had plenty of chicken with the double order. We tried this Thai place for the first time this weekend as our normal place was closed. Food was good. We had the pad thai, yellow curry, pineapple fried rice and fried spring rolls. Portions were good, flavor was on point without going overboard on spicy and the curry came with rice, which is one of my pet peeves about thia places sometimes. We got it to go so I can speak to ambiance, but my daughter that picked it up said they were so nice there. My only gripe is that we ordered online and the website required we fill in the tip field. I think of myself as a generous tipper, but it annoys me when it's an expectation, especially when we order on a website and picked it up ourselves. It felt weird not filling in something other than zero, so we put a tip in there, but it was probably less than if they had just let us leave one on our own at the restaurant. read more

Karin Thai was a very lovely experience. They sat us immediately and brought us waters. I loved the option for booth seating and the chairs were pretty comfy. I ordered the avocado rolls which tasted very fresh and had a nice peanut sauce on the side for dipping. There were also so many of them! Eight to be exact. I also ordered the red curry with chicken. Delicious food!! Their Tom Kha is so good. We got 4 dishes when we went and all were yummy. I was skeptical to come here because it's in an old location but glad we decided to try it. It's possibly the best Thai food I've had tried so far and I love Thai food so I've gone to a lot of Thai restaurants. I hope they do well and stay open. Started out with samosas, very good. We order four entrees, the waiter was like "are you sure that's a big meal". Yes but you have so many interesting items we want to try a few. Ordered crab fried rice, pad Thai, yellow curry with beef and crazy tiger. Crazy tiger was a rib eye with a salad and an awesome dipping sauce. Never seen rib eye on a Thai menu before. this small restaurant was bustling on a Sunday evening. it seemed understaffed and things were pretty slow -- getting seated, getting our orders taken, getting our food. but the staff were very friendly and kind. we ordered spice level 4 (the scale is 1-4) for all our dishes, but I felt they weren't that spicy :) but still delicious! the braised pork belly panang curry was very flavorful but slightly on the sweet side. the chicken satay was good but the texture was interesting -- a bit rubbery? the green curry was great. the pad kee mow and chicken basil fried rice were decent. overall, huge portions! read more

I love Pad Thai, and read other reviews said it was good here. It was not what I had hoped! The classic Pad Thai flavor was there but the there was no bean sprouts, no egg very little ground up peanuts. As far as the protein i asked the waitress for her advice on which one is best she said definitely the chicken so I ordered it. Sadly it was way over cooked. I didn't even eat it. The noodles were very thin and stuck together in clumps. Not the classic flat rice noodles that I love with this dish. My sister had the green curry and it was delicious. I don't know what to think about a Thai restaurant that can't make Pad Thai! read more

This restaurant was a total surprise. In a suburb of Auburn and in a retail center with all sorts of businesses. The decor was not extreme and was very pleasant. They were piping in nice jazz as well. We started with a family sized bowl of vegetable and tofu soup and it was terrific. Plenty for 4 people. Next we had Garlic Chicken with rice. Very nice. Another winner was the Peanut curry with veggies, no meat. Great. Lastly, Pad Thai noodles with Chicken. All food prepared to order, served hot and with very kind and politely. The menu has lots of goodies so it could take some time to try more. I also noticed that their take out customers were coming in steady to pick up.
