Friendly staff, lots of food options on the menu, and generous portions. Will be back next time I am craving Thai food on my way through Auburn. I'm glad I got my dish mild. My friend got his dish 3/5 spicy and it was quite spicy. Filling and delicious. Food came out quickly. Good option for a stop on the way back from a weekend outdoors hiking or climbing in Tahoe.

The food here is delicious, but be warned of their heat scale. 6 of us ordered different dishes to share, most medium heat (3). We all thought it was more like a 5. We had to order a plate of tamarind shrimp with no chili so that one of our friends could eat! Will definitely go back to order level one heat next time as the seasoning was delicious, I just don't want to sweat through the meal and drink a gallon of water.

We went for a late Saturday lunch with family members and we were not disappointed. The food, service, and restaurant were all great. My fiancée is a sucker for gyoza and theirs was amazing. They had a perfect crunch and the fillings were yummy too. Every Thai place we go to I always get yellow curry, it's my absolute favorite and theirs was exceptional. I always order double chicken as well since usually the amount of chicken is lacking but mine had plenty of chicken with the double order. We also tried the pad Thai and fried rice and both were good but personally the curry was better. Would definitely recommend Karin Thai to anyone craving some good Thai curry.

This is my favorite Thai restaurant! I am Thai and food tastes super authentic and every dish is flavorful!! Prices are really reasonable too. My absolute favorite is the deep-fried pompano with sweet and sour sauce so crispy and delicious! The staff is always friendly and the service is great. Definitely recommend if you're craving real Thai food!

The food was absolutely incredible! I'm officially obsessed with this place. You guys HAVE to try it

Although it's in a small strip mall and unassuming, the food is excellent. I will definitely go back there when I'm in Auburn.

Very good! Spice level one or two was good for me. It didn't wash out the flavor, you know what I mean? Drunken noodles are sooo yummy!

Food has to be good!" And when I try new places, I tend to order authentic menu items and go from there hopefully on my next visit. Unfortunately, I got back to my office, and regrettably will not return to Thai Village House. Ordered the Thai papaya salad going on photos that are obviously from the owner and being on the receiving end, it is not what you receive (see photo). And for the price, is a definite, NEVER AGAIN. $12.95 for a small portion plus I added extra vegetables for $1.00 and I couldn't seem to place where the extra veggies were placed because it definitely was not in the to-go container. I also requested, as "special instructions" for "extra sour and extra sweet" and I tell you, not even the base flavors were there which should normally consist of: fish sauce, lime, sugar, tamarind sauce all of which were not present. Being Thai myself, I am dissatisfied. Not to mention the Thai tea for $5.00 was mostly cream flavored rather than Thai flavored. To the owner: I'm hoping you truly do go to a Thai restaurant and order papaya salad so you can at least attempt to have the base flavors in future orders. Aside from my negative review, cute set up and creative way to use the extra front yard space on your property! Good luck!

We went early at 4 when they opened, in hopes it would be more relaxed since we had read reviews about it getting busy. When we arrived there was one diner already eating but we sat down quickly. I asked about the gluten free options (since there was mention that they offered some) but when I asked the waitress, she said there were many things and to "see what I wanted and ask her" if it was gluten free. This was difficult since the menu had the traditional names for the dishes but no description. I told her what I usually get and hoped she might suggest something. She did not, she walked away. I did ask about the appetizers (are they rice paper) but none are gluten free so we didn't order any. She kept having to walk away while discussing the menu so I ended up googling dish names to see the preparation and potential ingredients. Two more tables came in and she didn't have time to explain what the dishes were we were interested in. I have worked as a waitress, and we kept saying "no rush" . If you have diet concerns, there is no way to work with the menu since there is no description of the food or distinguishing "gluten free" options like other menus. Some have "GF" or a star by safe items. My husband asked if the noodle dish could be made with a different protein (shrimp vs chicken) but was told no, it cant. He saw the fried fish at the earlier diners table and ordered it. His was literally half the size as the "regular" customers. We heard her telling someone she had been coming here for 12 years and we were impressed with that. We always have a favorite restaurant and wanted this to be ours. We asked if there was mango sticky rice tonight, no there was not. So, while we wanted to love this place and find our new "go to" it didn't happen. We realize we are not regulars (yet) but felt like she just didn't have the time to make us feel welcome. This is not a negative review but more of a heads up if you have food special needs.

My 6th Visit... and Apparently I'm Not Allowed to Go to Thunder Valley Without Stopping Here! …read more Every time I'm anywhere near Thunder Valley Casino, I somehow "accidentally" drag my family and friends to Orchid Thai Restaurant. This is already my 6th visit, so at this point, I think I'm basically part of the furniture! I absolutely LOVE the ambience here. The place has such a beautiful Thai vibe cozy, relaxing, and just the right amount of fancy without making you feel like you need to whisper. The service is fast and wonderful, which is always a huge plus when everyone at the table is already staring at the menu like they haven't eaten in three days. Now let's talk about the FOOD! My all-time favorite is their authentic Pad Thai Seafood Combination. Seriously, this is the dish that keeps me coming back. The flavors are on point, the seafood combination is delicious, and that sweet-savory Thai flavor hits exactly where it needs to hit! I also LOVE their fried tofu. Crispy, tasty, and dangerously easy to keep eating even after you tell yourself, "Okay, just one more." My friend absolutely loved the huge Coconut Chicken--and when I say huge, I mean HUGE! He also attacked the spring rolls and somehow finished them in about 10 minutes. At that point, I wasn't sure if he was eating dinner or competing in the Olympics. And of course, we had to get the Pineapple Fried Rice. Another table favorite! Sweet, savory, flavorful, and just plain delicious. Then comes dessert: Mango Sticky Rice. YUM YUM! The perfect way to finish the meal. Honestly, by the time dessert arrives, I'm already full, but somehow my stomach suddenly develops a separate dessert department. After SIX visits, I can confidently say this place is one of my go-to Thai restaurants whenever I'm in the area. Great food, generous servings, beautiful ambience, and wonderful service. So yes... every time I'm near Thunder Valley, I'm probably going to drag somebody here again. Orchid Thai, you've officially become part of my Thunder Valley tradition! See you again soon!
