I was in Auburn on business Tuesday 10/14 and decided to try this spot as it was within walking distance. It was cold and rainy, and I wanted something warm. Stephanie greeted me with a warm smile and a friendly spirit. The inside is very clean, all the food on the bar was fresh and the veggies were crisp. The atmosphere - family friendly, and a great lunch spot if you work nearby. I had 30 mins for lunch and I walked out within 15 min. The noodles are the thick ones, which I don't usually like, but these were yummy. I used the frozen meat to create a fence on the inside of my bowl, so I could pile the veggies high. I'm a bit greedy sometimes lol. I was also surprised by the chef's friendly personality and his warm invitation to come back. While he cooked up my bowl, Stephanie approached me with a complimentary cup of egg flower soup, as I couldn't make up my mind if I wanted a bowl to go when I was ordering. The soup was delicious and just what I needed on a cold day. The sauces were amazing! My noodles were hot, spicy, fresh and didn't disappoint. Don't skimp on the sauces. I added at least 8 scoops in total, because it sticks to the noodles as it cooks down. If you're in Auburn or passing through, this place is DEFINITELY worth the stop, and only about 5 mins from the freeway. I will DEFINITELY be back. Thank you Stephanie for being a warm light on a cold rainy day. You're the Best!

Decided to try Sum's because I was in the area and have seen their good reviews. The service was great. The restaurant was very clean and we got a table fast. The food tasted great. I would have liked to have more vegetable options but other than that I really enjoyed it.

We just moved tot he area and Sum's was one of the first places we tried. The employees are all very nice and welcoming. The variety of ingredients is good and fresh. We love this place and it is becoming a weekly destination.

I love pie & was on a mission to try theirs. We stopped by on the Friday afternoon after they got recognized. The parking lot was packed. There is a lot of covered outdoor seating, but it was also pretty filled up. The market was busy & bustling with customers & staff going to & fro. A hamburger restaurant adjoins the market with some indoor seating. You can enter & exit either door to get to both areas. The doors directly to the market only had one you could open because the other door was obscured with a display & it caused such a traffic jam to get in & out. The supply of pies/cobblers & variety was plentiful. They have fruit pies as well as cream pies in whole, sliced, fresh, & frozen form. NOTE--you can find whole pies (fresh or frozen) in the market, & packaged individual slices in the restaurant. The market also has lots of produce, dips & sauces, dressings, pickled items, wine, other baked goods, honey, snacks, store branded merchandise, & lots more! Samples of products were out & available to try, like fruit, dips, & granola. The circumstances of the award created an understandable commotion that took a little charm away from the shopping experience. The market has so many neat items to browse, but it has narrow aisles & it was hard to look around comfortably & not feel in the way because of the flurry of activity. I even heard audible disdain from another customer (my sense is a local or regular) about everyone being there because of the award. Customer service was fine. Staffers seemed busy & didn't welcome or proactively acknowledge customers. We were able to find someone with a question who was helpful. Checkout was straightforward with staff trying to keep the line moving. Back to the pie mission! Peach Pie--delightful fresh peach taste, the least sweet of the 3 Razzleberry Pie--really delicious berry packed flavor payoff Strawberry Rhubarb Cobbler--this is my favorite kind of fruit pie & their very tasty execution stood out because the rhubarb was really present in big tart chunks, (also the fruit & veg combo practically makes this a health food, right??) My verdict-- My ideal pie is a combo of yummy filling & a great flaky, buttery crust. While the fillings were bursting with amazing fruitiness, the crust brought nothing to the table & was just bland & meh. I prefer the cobbler version because the dough brought some sweetness & flavor. We also got a loaf of coffee cake. It tasted fine, but felt like it was basically a simply flavored cake with some streusel topping that had bits of walnut & barely any detectable cinnamon. I would go back again down the road on an obscure weekday to try to experience a less busy time to shop more items. The pie fillings I tried were spectacular, & despite the mediocre crust, I would happily have more.

In fact, when I pulled in, I opened the vents of my car to allow that smokey bbq smell to fill in. Rub 'n Butts offers the finest cuts of meat and the most delicious BBQ in Placer County (I think the finest compared to anywhere around!) They are becoming more and more popular that they are now open on Saturdays! They offer dine in, catering, pick up meals, or have BBQ delivered right to your doorstep (doordash.) Thusday - Saturday 11:00 am - 5:00 pm They offer smoked tri tip, brisket, beer brat sausages, chicken (halves, too), and smoked spare ribs. They can make you sandwiches with their meats and have pulled pork, too!!! There are sides such as corn bread, their famous baked beans, creamy jalapeno corn, potato salad, and macaroni salad. As I hopped out of my car, John, the owner, was pulling meats off the smoker. He saw me walking in and with a big smile, greeted me! From previous visits, I know that he is passionate about his food. He is so good at it, I have to give him a big THANK YOU so much for sharing his passion with the world! My taste buds, eyes, and stomach deeply thank you! When I walked in, I only waited a few minutes for John to meet me at the register. **For every purchase, you get entered into a weekly drawing for a free platter with 2 meats! He had my ribs ready and packed in an aluminum catering container. It kept them hot for my drive home. I got to say hello to Frank, who was also working hard. Before driving, I took a video of those hot beautiful ribs with the gorgeous char marks, with the bright cherry red color and hot juices running out from beneath them... Oooooh can you imagine how bad I wanted to take a bite right there! The first bite was heaven! The meat is so juicy and tender and I love that it doesn't just fall off the bone... it had some pull to it. It had just the right amount of bark and smoke flavor. It had a clean bite and all the meat still came clean off the bone... it was a dream. It's the exact kind of rib that you compare all ribs to. They're in the process in updating the painted and print signs with the Saturday hours. Thursday-Saturday 11:30am - 5:30pm. Anyways, upon walking in, we were greeted by John, the owner. Unfortunately being it was less than two hours before closing, he ran out of tri tip and baby back ribs. Totally understandable, you snooze you lose. It's slow smoked genuine BBQ not fast food, when they run out, they run out. So we settled on the chicken special of smoked chicken quarter with chili and corn bread muffin $12.95. The chili and muffin were house made as well. The chili was gorgeous looking and tasted just as good as it looked. It had pieces of smoked meat. The chicken was moist and tender, smoked giving it a smoky and slight crackly skin. Mmm. It was served with a container of BBQ sauce on the side. I could drink that sauce, it was that delicious. Plus great price point on the plate. Hubs got a brisket sandwich $17.95. The bread was top notch. The brisket was ohhh so perfectly, classical tender. No knife needed. Smoked sweet and meaty flavors. Beautiful grain. John gave us samples of chicken garlic sausage and blackberry cobbler. Both house-made by him. Impressive that most everything g is house made. I'm not a fan of sausages but this may convert me. It wasn't overpowering and flavors are subtly prominent. Great texture too, not thick dense nor milly soft. Being honest. I'm not a fan of blackberry desserts due to those pesky seeds. But the cobbler didn't baked the blackberry all the way down, instead it kept it more whole than syrupy so considerably less seed release but still with the sweet blackberry flavor. The top crust was a moist cake. It all held well and absolutely yummers. The place has a few counter top tables to dine in. But Hubs and I ordered ours to go. Interior is super clean and comfortable.

I was there to try the food goods created by the smoker and whoever does this delicious array of foods. There were many options to choose from in their heated display case. Burgers, breakfast burritos, brisket sandwiches, ribs... I think there were a couple more options, but I couldn't decide on one. So I went with some smoked pork ribs and a brisket sandwich. It was $28 & change. It felt a little on the expensive side for 4 ribs and a sandwich. However... it was damn delicious!!
