Don't let the outside building fool you . Once you pass those doors, you are greeted with the friendly staff , a dim lit room , and quite environment! You are quickly walked to the common area , where one of the staff members will have you remove your shoes and lay down . Not to sure about this place. It looks sketch and English is not spoken here! They demand tips!!! The last gave me a really hard message which I didn't complain because I thought I needed it, it was my first time and I have a lot of knots. After waking up in pain I did my research. It could normal for some pain but it lasted a few days. Overall she did get out some of my kinks, I was extremely uncomfortable the entire time and couldn't relax, but as I said she did well with getting out the kinks my shoulders were so relaxed I couldn't raise them if I wanted to lol. But I will try another place before returning. If I don't find someone else to get those kinks then I'll go back. Actually I'm sorry I won't go back, totally forgot they made us pay before the message. I gave her 60 for my 50 dollar bill and she told me I couldn't have my change back and when I paid for my mom they made me give 10 extra. I used to come here every 2 weeks. I loved this place but after about a year, the manager began to be quite rude. He has always rubbed me the wrong way (no pun intended) but I was able to overlook it (he would complain if I wanted to pay with a card and tell me I need to bring cash, he has also given me a hard time about the rewards card they have, when I came with my mom and paid for her and myself he only allowed me one stamp, but I paid for 2 massages). For me the straw that broke the camels back was when he became angry that I did not leave a night enough tip. I was paying 20 bucks for the foot massage and was leaving a 5 dollar tip... he wanted me to leave 10. It was an OK massage, definitely not worth a 10 dollar tip. The place is very clean and for $60 for 90 minutes, it's a great value! Prices are great. But the place lives up to its name. I wish the massage was just "OK", but in fact it was less than "OK". The ladies there hardly speak and understand English and they were having trouble comprehending what I wanted. They were massaging all the spots that didn't need much attention and avoiding what I wanted massaged. They were too hard with the pressing and I can recall too many moments that were too painful and I had to tell her to go softer. It's the next morning and I'm writing this, and I am in more pain than I was before I went in, somewhat bruised. My partner and I have been going for a massage here for quite a few years and even though the massages have been good their customer service sucks. My partner, my brother, and I walked in today for a foot massage at 12:30 pm. They said they were busy and asked if we could wait till 1:00 pm. Then they said to come back at 2:00 pm so they can fit all three of us. We go back at 2:00 pm only to find out they could only fit two people. It was so frustrating to say the least. She then began to massage me kind of roughly. I gave her a 4 dollar tip because it was not a good massage and it was the most stressful experience I ever had! I came to relax! When I went to pay, the owner, the man there then asked me how was the massage? I just said here is the tip. It was ok. He then scolded me to leave a bigger tip. I received a grooupon for this place for a couples massage. My husband and I went in and they said "couples masssage?" I said yes and they took us straight to the room, no complaints on the massage, the problem was when it was time to pay he said I shoul've told him about my groupon before the massage. I don't understand why since we got the exact massage the groupon was intended for. He said it's different there was a language barrier so He didn't go into detail as to how it's different. I called in advance & requested from the gentlemen that I needed two female therapist to work on my friend and I (both female). Upon arrival I was given a female and so did my friend. The massage was good until we were told to go into the rooms. This is where my therapist continued to work on me and my friend had a gentleman switched on her without her knowledge or approval. He manhandled her and she continued to verbalize how painful the massage was. Long story short she realized it was a male masseuse when he began answering the phone and taking appointments. This is the new location in La Verne with the same owner. (Healthfull Body And Spa) I usually go and get one massage a year. Today was the day I picked. I decided to try the new place next to Dr. Boyer's office on Foothill and Towne Center in La Verne. There is a big grand opening sign outside. When I walked in, I wanted to just get a chair massage so I didn't have to take my close off or anything because I knew I would be in a hurry when it was time to leave. I only had an hour. The man told me that if I opted for the full body massage, it would be cheaper. $40, so I said ok, but that I didn't really want a full body massage. I mostly wanted them concentrate on my neck and shoulders. He said he he would tell the masseuse so I went in and disrobed. I lied down and put the sheet over me and the man came in. An older, Chinese man. He started working on me and was doing a fine job. Every now and then, he would rest one of his hands directly on my butt. Right on the crack in a fist, and massage my back with the other hand. I don't get that many massages, so I'm lying there thinking that maybe this could barely be considered my lower back and maybe he just isn't thinking, but when he did it for the third time, I reached back and removed his hand and ask him to please put his hand up higher. He adjusted the towel that was over my butt a little bit and then put his hand right back where it was. It is no fun to lie there and wonder what the heck could possibly be going on in this man's head and do I remove his hand again...but he removed it and started to massage my legs. I realized that about 45 minutes had gone by, and he hadn't paid any attention to my neck or shoulders. At this point however, the music that was playing switched from the usual calm, New Agey sounding Asian music to what HAD to be a 10 year old who just got handed his first school-issued alto saxophone, and was sight reading Whitney Houston's "Where Do Broken Hearts Go," along with a midi play along track. I could have played that song better on the saxophone That my husband has from elementary school with all the pads missing that is in our closet. I couldn't focus on anything except for the horrible sound coming out of that person's saxophone on the recording and I finally had to ask the man to please turn off the music. I started to tell him that I was a piano player and I was sorry but it really was bothering me. He laughed a little bit and kept going with the massage. I asked him again. I just said "Please turn the music off". He got up and turned the music off and came back and said he was sorry. When he came back, I explained to him that I had asked for most of the massage to be on my neck and shoulders. He said OK and then started massaging my feet again. I asked him if he spoke English. He shook his head no. I pointed to the door and ask him to please go get someone who spoke English. He came back with another man, and I explained. I told the man my time was almost up. He said "Give him five more minutes and he would massage my neck and shoulders." He went out and the man proceeded to dig his elbow into the middle of my back for five minutes. I was frustrated so I said that I had to leave. I thought he understood and he left the room. I got up and started to put my clothes on when he came right back into the room with me standing there naked. Luckily I had my shirt in my hand and quickly tried to put it up to cover myself and I told him I was getting dressed and for him to LEAVE. While I'm getting dressed, the other man comes back and starts knocking on the door asking if he can come in. I am saying that I am getting dressed and of course they cannot come in but he keeps asking. Finally, I am dressed and I walk out to the front. I started to explain to the second man that even after he had intervened, I still didn't get what I asked for. Then he told me that he doesn't speak English. He started dialing the phone to get someone on the other end who wasn't there but spoke English, apparently. I told that man how I had not gotten what I asked for, and had been touched inappropriately, and walked in on while I was naked. I told him that I thought it was unacceptable to have someone giving a massage who doesn't understand any English at all. I told him I thought it was dangerous. He apologized and I told him I was not going to pay full price for this massage. I told him it was my birthday and it was supposed to be relaxing and it was super frustrating the whole time. I told him I wouldn't pay any more than $20 and he tried to get me to pay 30. I refused and told him that I thought I probably should've gotten it for free and maybe a whole other massage for free as well, but I wouldn't have accepted it even if it was offered. I also said I was thinking about writing a bad yelp review. He reluctantly agreed and I gave him the $20 and walked out. read more

I would definitely NOT recommend this place. I bought the Groupon because it sounded like a good deal, but I would take my business elsewhere. The massage itself was decent, but the experience was not. For starters, they weren't actual private rooms, but office looking spaces that were curtained off. It made me uncomfortable every time the masseuses would leave to get something because I would hear the curtain open and I couldn't tell if they were cautious to close it behind them; it made you feel exposed. I also couldn't get myself to relax because it was so noisy in there! People were talking, having full-blown laugh attacks, and our masseuses literally had a conversation while giving our massages. We were so turned off by the experience that we felt like we shouldn't tip because they were so unprofessional, and when we went to walk out the masseuses LITERALLY demanded a tip. I've never experienced anything like that... a tip is earned with a good customer service experience, but apparently here it's an obligation.
