I go here all the time and it's my favorite place for a filling meal in town. Portion sizes are good, sushi is decent, and appetizers and soups are tasty. Drinks are a little expensive but the entrees and sushi is reasonably priced, especially if you haunt the specials menu. Selections are wide and all the ones I have tried are good. Cuts of meat have always been properly cooked, sometimes chicken is a little dry but steaks are always on point. I've never sat at the hibachi, but table service is always good. Owner is always present which I think helps make a difference. Takeout is always hot when I get there. I would recommend, even if the location is a little out of the way. read more

i went with a group of friends before prom, i had went to the bathroom and came back to the table and my wallet and phone was missing, the manager kept saying my friends had it and after 30 minutes of searching everyone, the bathroom and the limo one of the cooks had it, i do not recommend eating here at all! read more

One of the best restaurants in Cartersville. I have never had a bad meal there. They have recently expanded their menu and added many new great items. One of those is the Oki lettuce wrap which includes tempura crab, cucumber, a sweet chili sauce and a dab of wasabi....absolutely delicious! Service can be a little spotty but most of the waitstaff is excellent. I don't eat sushi and can speak for that but friends of mine that do LOVE this place. read more

I was traveling through the area last week and Okinawa Hibachi popped up on my search of places to eat. I love Japanese food so I decided to give it a try. I'm so glad I did! The staff was really friendly and my server was knowledgeable of the menu and was very helpful. I decided to go with the spicy hyena sushi roll for an appetizer and man that thing was a meal in itself! I ordered the filet minion and salmon with fried rice and veggies that came with a salad. This is one of my favorite places to eat in my small town. The service has always been great and the food too. I go there to get my sushi fix! The last time I was there my server offered us her "secret" sushi special list. There are a lot of tasty rolls that aren't on the menu. My sister has been to several sushi places and likes particular rolls that they don't have.. but if you know what's in it they can make it. It's basically creating your own sushi roll! Take caution on that note and always ask for the price or if there will be an up charge for special requests. One time we went our server didn't mention there would be an upcharge so when our friend received her bill she wasn't too thrilled. The manager was very understanding when we told her she would have ordered something else if she would have known there would be extra charges. Nice family oriented place to dine-out. The food is great; however the decor is actually Jazzy instead of Japanese. Also, the background music is "Smooth Jazz." This was a great place to stop for lunch. Having spent 4 years living in Okinawa I was curious to see how close to Okinawa food it would be. One of the menu items was real Okinawa yakisoba. I haven't had yakisoba that came close to what I had in Okinawa in years. Rating is misleading. New to Cartersville, we tried the higher Yelp rated sushi/ hibachi place. After being disappointed, we tried Okinawa today. VERY GOOD. We like sushi and have had our share in cities big and small. The variety is surprising and the prices are good. Just like the "other" restaurant that ranks a bit higher, there is no hibachi chef to entertain, but if we are just comparing sushi, Okinawa wins hands down. My only complaint was a tiny bit too much sauce on the specialty rolls (I had soft shell crab with yumi yumi was yummy.... but too much sauce). Waitress was great wish I had gotten her name I want to say Adrienne, but I noted all the tables in our area were well cared for. This was a birthday dinner for my fiancé. Food is always great and they have great Sushi. Dining in or carry-out here is always quick. They have Chinese food on there menu, it sucks. Stay with the Japanese food. Only issue is other business decided to mark their parking spots and you can't park in them during the week so it's always hard to park. They need to move or something because it has defentially put a damper in their business. read more

We recently ordered take out a were thoroughly impressed. Our order consisted of filet and shrimp hibachi with fried rice, We were pleased that everything was still fresh and tender even after a 30+ minute ride home, The filet were cooked perfectly. In addition, everything was well seasoned and not overly salty like most hibachi. We've been to this location before and it has consistently been in the 3 to 4 star range, however this dining experience was worth the 5 stars, especially with it being take out. read more

So my husband and I decided to grab a quick lunch. We came in the door and the host to seat us coughed in her hand twice. Then she walked us to our table and touched silver she took to the back. We continue to watch her as we were waiting for our food. She touched her nose, rubbing all in her hair, and touching all over her face. Horrible food with even worse management! By accident placed a to-go order here instead of Tokyo. I ordered a kids chicken hibachi meal and a order of crab rangoon. I should've checked it before I left the restaurant but instead waited until I got home. When I opened my to go bag there was hardly anything in it. A small box with 3 triangle crab rangoon with hardly any filling. Supposedly 3 pieces is considered an order to them. Also in the bag was a small plastic container of an ice cream scoop of rice and maybe 5 little nuggets of chicken that looked liked they were cooked 5 hours earlier with a drizzle of teriyaki sauce. I've ordered kids hibachi meals previously at other restaurants and they have all been 10x better than this. My kid refused to eat it. When I called to talk to the manager she said 'if you bring it back up here, I'll refund your money'. Well that would be nice if it wasn't 15-20 min away and if I didn't have to find my child something else to eat since this was not edible. $13 down the drain was not a big deal but it is a big deal that the manager said that it met their standards when it clearly shouldn't! Several things made this visit quite annoying, though the service was very kind, dealing with the food was the problem. I have visited both of their locations and the Marietta one is the best Sushi place I have found so far throughout several states, but this one was a much different scene. The menu is much more limited than the Marietta location. Some of the best sushi isn't available here. Not to mention that some of the menu items you could order come with less food than the Marietta location. E.g. Shrimp tempura, here you get 3 pieces and that is it, but in Marietta you get 3 pieces and 2 vegetable pieces for the exact same price. On to the sushi, the tuna roll variations I tried were delicious, outstanding; however, the Spicy Salmon roll I managed to hold down was deplorable. It tasted like an "attempt" at a piece of sushi that one would find at a local Publix. If you like Publix sushi though, then this place is for you. Finally, the wait time for my food and my party's food was astronomical. I could have ordered a pizza, had it delivered, and eaten it before I received my food here. As I mentioned before, the one thing that made it worth staying for the food was the kindness of the staff. Nevertheless, I do not intend on returning here in the future unless it meets the standards of the Marietta location. read more
