Ashlyn was very friendly when we ordered. We did the brisket with 1 meat dinner and 2 kids meals. One child enjoyed his meal while the other wasn't impressed by the "hard" chicken tenders. The kids meals had 2 small tenders and a side with a drink. The sliced brisket was moist and delicious. We had the chicken which ended up being pulled chicken. I wasn't terribly excited about this but when I tried it, I was pleasantly surprised. The potato salad and cole slaw were both good! The toast was also very good. The restaurant was clean as well. You can buy their BBQ sauce for $5 a bottle plus tax. They also have brownies topped with Oreos which the kids enjoyed. I'm so glad we found this local spot (they have 4 locations, I think. Enjoyed the food. We went around 6 pm on a Wednesday night and there was plenty of seating available. We also received our food quickly. We were with a group of about 7 people and it was easy to visit with no loud music playing or noise. The sweet potato fries were really good! The burnt ends were good (my husband ordered these) and I enjoyed the pulled chicken. It was juicy and tasted extra good with the original barbecue sauce. The fried okra was ok. We ate here as this place was right across the street from our hotel. We had the Grand Champion Platter. The platter consists of brisket, pulled chicken & pork, turkey, BBQ Sausage, Hot Link & ribs. Also included choice of 3 sides- fried okra, baked beans, and green beans, Texas Toast, pickles & onion. We were able to sub out two of the meats for more ribs and hot links. Everything was pretty good. The BBQ sauce is solid as well. The customer service was good and they gave us an extra serving of Okra. We came back for more fried okra, which is served with ranch. Unfortunately their fountain drink machine was down and they only had tea. We were disappointed didn't offer a replacement drink or other incentive for the drinks, despite one coming with the meal that we ordered. I would definitely eat there again. read more

This visit was overall good: OKJ offers a variety of smoked meats and excellent sides. Food ordered at the counter was delivered quickly and correctly. The pulled pork sandwich had flavorful meat with a side of French fries with a tasty seasoning. The combo pulled pork and chopped brisket sandwich was good but the meat taste was overwhelmed by too much sweet sauce. Green beans were nicely flavored with brisket. Other diners commented that ribs seemed they'd been sitting beneath a heat lamp too long, though a hot sausage link was perfect. If there was only one reason to come back to Tulsa Oklahoma Joe's would be good enough! They have outstanding BBQ! The 7 meat plate was only $22 and it had enough on it to feed our whole family and have a lot left over. The turkey was outstanding... the brisket delectable... the pulled pork scrumptious... the ribs out of this world... and so on and so on. Then there are the sides. I know I have raved about the beans before but I have to again. By far the best baked beans I have ever had! The sweet potato fries here are actually crunchy! Finally! Some one who understands a limp fry just dangles and is no good! Their reg fries are perfect too. The staff here was exceptional... friendly helpful and just really nice! Other places could take notes and learn a thing or two here about how to treat your customers. Very attentive and seemed to really be concerned about their customers perception of their place, service and food! The location has lots of room and is pretty cool! Very clean and well kept. However at least on a Sunday get here before 12 or be prepared to stand in line. By 1pm the line was just about out the door and I understand why! So, I had high hopes. We ordered to go, picked up at 8:45. 15 min before they close. We got there and immediately got the look of death. I reassured them I had a to go order. They rushed us out so I didn't check the bag. Check your bag. I ordered multiple items, and one of them was a 2 meat plate with pork and brisket. Opened the box and only pork was in it. The cup holding my baked beans was cracked and leaking. The French fries were ice cold and I could tell were old. I picked up 15 min after I ordered so I know it wasn't that I left it too long. We have frequented this restaurant over the last few years when we come to town. The price increases were shocking. The ribs half were nothing but what was described as being gristle with a lot of visible fat, as they were difficult to chew. Nothing could make those ribs tender or appetizing. The turkey had very little flavor, as it reminded me of Deli meat that could be cut to a specified thickness, the saving grace for this meal was the beans. No one came to check if the meal was good, as the last time before COVID they were making sure everything was to our liking. After this visit, we won't be back and will find another restaurant that WILL get our business that is more reasonable in price and in food quality. For 2 meals and 2 drinks with the meals and service being lackluster for near $40, this was totally unacceptable. read more

I ate a lot of BBQ as a kid, stopped eating it for years b/c I am not a pork eater. I am warming up to the idea of eating more BBQ, which delights my husband, but I am still not eating pork. Decided to give this place a try since in from Kansas City and love Joe KC. I did not have high expectations and good thing I didn't. It was decent bbq but does not live up to Joe KC. The menu is not the same. I had the burnt end barbequlossal, bbq baked potatoes with pull pork, and fried catfish with hush puppies. The burnt end barbequlossal is pretty much the burnt end version on the Z-man. It was topped with smoked provolone and onion rings. I wish there were more onion rings on the sandwich, especially since it was such a big one. It was decent but I thought it was over priced. The sandwich itself was pretty big and could be shared with two people. I also wish they had different sizes for the sandwiches especially for lunch. The bbq baked potato was probably my favorite thing that I ordered. You get to choose what type of bbq meat to top it with and I chose pull pork. The pull pork was a delicious touch to it. It is a meal size potato so if you are thinking about order it as a side dish, you are probably not going to finish it. The fried catfish was good. Not a typical thing to order at a bbq joint but it was well seasoned and battered just right. If you are looking for something that is not bbq, it's a good option. The fries were a disappointment, nothing special about them. I love the fries at Joe KC and usually finish it before eating my actual meal. These fries are just regular fries. Overall this place had decent bbq, but not my favorite. If you are looking for the award winning Oklahoma Joe's BBQ you must try it in Kansas City, which has been renamed to Joe KC. read more

What impressed most was the dipping sauce. It was flavorful with the right amount of saltiness. Very delicious. I didn't finish all of it, but I did scoop up all the onions and eat them straight. This is not the best barbecue out there but it's pretty good for what it is. If you have a craving for barbecue, this will do it. The menu is hit or miss. Last time I was here I got a salad that I didn't like because the flavors and textures didn't go well together. Honestly I had a hard time finishing it.
