Sliced brisket was good. Fried okra was different as it was fried whole. The lady taking the order warned me it was but it was still good. Coleslaw was a little too sweet but still good. A little on the expensive side but I was expecting that as Earl's prices have gone way up too. Atmosphere is the 3 stars. Didn't appreciate "Tiny" whooping it up while we ate. We were excited to try this new Owasso restaurant. Disappointed. First the cashier left to go wait on someone else as soon as we got to the counter. Finally came back after about 5 minutes. Other employees were walking by... While the food came out quick, it was totally subpar. My brisket loaded potato had no butter and little brisket. I ended up dousing the whole thing with bbq sauce. Only ate half. The extra rib we ordered had a fake smoke taste but it was tender. We tried the two meat combo, pulled pork was dry and stringy. The hot links were good but know they are more like sausages. Not a lot of heat. Potato salad was not great. At all.. I hate this and hope they get it together soon. read more

Took a shot on Oklahoma Joe's Owasso store for lunch today. At 12:15 the place was almost empty, so that should've told me something. You place your order at the bar from a fairly complicated menu. Since I wanted to sample a couple things for a review, I went with the 2 meat plate (pork and bologna) and an extra rib ($2.99), beans and potato salad. That's about as BBQ as you can get without brisket. Food arrived lickety split, which it should for a BBQ joint, since nearly everything is precooked. I was a tad surprised to not find a rib on the plate, but when I checked my order, I saw the guy didn't ring it up. So okay, no harm no foul on that one, I just don't get a rib to try. In order of tasting, and by someone who's eaten a good deal of BBQ over the years: The beans had a really great smoky/sweet flavor. Lots of depth to them, but sadly they were undercooked. Not crunchy undercooked, just a tad too chewy for my tastes. The potato salad was pretty much a generic representation of what you'd find almost anywhere that figures potato salad is the runt of the sides litter. Bland, lacking any tang or tartness and also undercooked. A couple of bites were quite hard. The pickles.... pretty good pickles. OJ's much buy a good brand, so at least there's good judgement on that one. The toast.... easily the star of the meal. Lightly toasted, hot, just like I like it. The bologna... undersmoked and undercooked. Unless you're making it from scratch yourself, all you really have to work with on bologna is the seasoning and smoke, and this had little to none of either. I estimate the slice was 1/4" thick or so, but into four quarters, because I imagine one thin slice would have looked embarrasing on the plate. By my estimation, there was probably less than $.50 worth of product there. The pork... I've had some really outstanding pulled pork and I've had some liquid smoke-cooked in a crock pot pulled pork, and this was about a half step above the latter. Lacking any richness at all, very little flavor and barely warm, it was an outstanding disappointment. The water, however.... was wet, cold and plentiful, so there's that. Rumor has it the food is smoked at a location in Tulsa, then trucked out here. That alone is a huge red flag for me, but I decided to give them a chance to shine, which they did not. For a total of $18.50, I cannot in good conscience recommend this place to anyone. There are just better places around town. OJ's managed to make even Rib Crib look good, and I never thought I'd see that one. read more

Amazing bbq! My husband and I ordered their special which was half rack of ribs with 2 sides. The ribs were tender and very flavorful. What I love about this place is the manager. From the time we walked in and were waiting for the rest of the party, he was very friendly and spoke to my husband about football. He even gave us pork rinds while we waited for the rest of our group. He was just a great person who was attentive and warm. An older gentleman. We failed to ask his name. My wife and I stopped for lunch at Oklahoma Joes BBQ In Owasso. Oklahoma Joes has several locations with a great rating and reputation. So I knew we were in for some good eats. This location has plenty of parking. The restaurant has a central bar, plenty of seating both inside and outside With 14 TV monitors that I counted. We were informed that today was the first day open for this location. My wife ordered the baked potato with pulled pork and extra butter. I ordered the two meat combo with bologna and ribs with onion rings and baked beansI also ordered a side of sausage. My wife said her baked potato was cold and undercooked and had no butter. The waitress was kind enough to get her some butter. My wife said the potato too cold to melt butter. My dinner did not meet my expectations either. The bologna and ribs were dry and cold. The sausage was also cold without much smoke flavor. The onion rings were overcooked. However the baked beans were excellent. We had great expectations, but left disappointed. I asked one of the waiters staff where their smoker was. They told me that the food is smoked at a different location and reheated before serving. I have been catering BBQ and cooking in competitions with my share of awards for 45 years. This being the first day open. I know there are some learning curves. And feel things will improve in the near future. I don't write a review to complain. I write a negative review as constructive criticism. read more

The service was great, everyone that helped us was awesome. But the food however, was not. Our side seemed OK but we both wondered why the meat was extremely dried out and just not very fresh tasting if that makes sense. I found out later that they are not smoking or cooking the meat at this location. They are picking it up from other locations that do smoke and cook their own meats and bringing it here. So basically you were getting takeout from another Oklahoma Joe's with fresh sides. :( read more

They do BBQ well at Joe's whether it's the Kansas City locations, specifically the one in the gas station, or the outlying. I'm a fan of the okie Joe sandwich. Their beans are great too. read more

Overpriced and not that great. Trails End BBQ is the best in Owasso by far followed by Rib Crib.

We decided to give this location a shot based on the many great times we've had at other Joe's locations. But based on the food and service at this location we will probably no put it on the list to return to. The building is exactly the same as the former tenant with a coat of white paint on some of the walls. It certainly doesn't have the restaurant feel of the other locations and still feels like you are walking into a bar, not a place known for the BBQ. But it's clean, and looks nice. After placing our order at the bar, we were handed our cups and headed to the fountain drinks. The tea dispenser was out, and the person working the counter watched as I pulled the dispenser to the edge of the bar to try and tip it forward to get the last drop, without saying a word. Our food came out in good time and the server was very friendly. The food however was cold and very dried out. I ordered the burnt ends and a few sides. The texture of burnt ends was like beef jerky and had obviously been reheated several times only to be served cold and dry. The baked beans and mac n' cheese was really good though. My partner ordered the chicken sandwich and had the same experience. The meat was cold and dry but her green beans were really good. Once our order was brought, we never saw our server again, possibly they don't have servers checking on tables? Either way, we were pretty disappointed. Hopefully they can turn it around. I really like that restaurants are finding their way to Owasso and would love for that to continue. A revolving door of businesses in the community is good for no one. read more

We had our ladies Christmas and Birthday celebration at Oklahoma Joes BBQ in Owasso, Ok. We called to see if we could get a table to seat 8-10 people and they assured it would not be a problem since lunch was not as busy. They were very friendly and helpful when we arrived. Even tho some of the ladies had a problem ordering in a timely manner at the counter the cashier was very helpful and did not seem concerned we were tkinf a longer time for 9 people. There were several people in line who also waited patiently for us to finish. The food was delicious and the server/staff could not be more friendly. Well today I went in for the first time around 7:15 and asked if we could sit on the patio. the lady told us she wiped everything down earlier with bleach water earlier. then my wife checked out there and you could barely smell it. well we could see they weren't happy but they gave us a menu then we walked out there and waited fifteen minutes went by so I came back in and asked if I have to come in to order they said yea in an anoyed way so we left. hope fully they will learn better customer service. Ordered a Loaded Baked Potato with chopped brisket, partner ordered same with chicken on the side. The soda machine was spurting high pressure suds and the employees at the front just watched and did nothing. The order came with the shredded chicken on the potato not the side. Mine was supposed to have chopped brisket and there might have been a tablespoon of dried out chopped brisket on the potato. Very dry like it had summered under a heatlamp. The potato itself was done and hot. Hardy anyone in the place and it was after 7PM Wednesday night, so none of the problem should have been attributed to being busy. Got up to try and get refills because the soda machine problem once the foam settled there wasn't much in the cups. while at the machine and partners purse still at the table the table was cleaned off by the time we got back to it. What a first time experience. Will be hard pressed to try that again. read more

My prediction is, this new Joe's location in Owasso won't last long! My wife and I had been looking forward to visiting, ever since we saw they were coming here. We decided to stop in yesterday, mid to late afternoon....they were not very busy! Upon entering....you are met with this massive U-Shaped bar... we stood for a bit looking around and my wife finally asked this energy-less young man if this is where we ordered. His response was, a low mmmhuh (sp)...not yes....not welcome to Okla. Joe's (which would have given us verbal directions of where to order). After placing our order for (2) Burnt End meals with Potato Salad & Baked Beans.....and 1 Brownie....with the in-your-face additional, before any service or meal tip....it came to over $60. Everything came out fairly quick.....and I would say.....looked like the typical BBQ meal. The person that brought the items to our table did however ask if we needed anything else....my wife asked if he could get her some ice for her iced tea (which she mentioned was very good).....he must have worked in the kitchen....and not a waiter, because he didn't seem to think that was his duty... but he did it. After trying our selections....which were just OK (my wife did really like the Baked Beans) we decided we'd take the items home. I had to locate lids for the small containers....got a to go box for the meat....had to ask for a sack.....and finally, had to ask for a couple of to go cups for our drinks. While I was doing all of this, my wife asked to see the manager....he was standing there, when I got back to the table. She expressed her overall displeasure with our service (which we prepaid for) and all he did was make excuses....he said that he has had complaints on that first young man before, but it's really hard to find anyone. Well, that young man is costing you money! Additionally....NO ONE came by our table and asked how our food was.....and at the time we got our food there was only one other couple in the place.
