Food did not disappoint and service and staff was great. Inside was enough tables to sit and dine in if you can put up with the meat smoker smell or you can take it to go. Antoinette gave me some brisket to try which I thought was nice. The prices fit the portions served and the menu had a decent selection from apps to dinner. The home made bbq sauce was a good hit. Make sure to get extra.

Nabbed this bad boy today for lunch and you can easily split this for two. But this was delightful... yes there is a potato under that thing and it's called jumbo for a reason! Get it and have leftovers you can thank me later!

I didn't think that there was a BBQ joint in Oklahoma that could be worse that Wild Horse Mountain BBQ in Sallisaw. Well, there is, 96th BBQ. They take BBQ to unprecedented disgusting lows with pathetic meats and horrible sides. My wife whom seldom has a discouraging word for some of the bad meals we have experienced over the years, deemed the food to be "Road Kill and Garbage!" What little taste the meat had, could only have been created by cooking it over wood from old pallets and used asphalt roofing shingles. The weak BBQ sauce did little to help. We tried to choke down as much of the $44.65 meal that we could tolerate. Over half of the repulsive food was left on the table. The food in the pictures looks like the dog's breakfast. A guide to Spike's inconsistently applied, subjective rating system. 1-Star "this place shouldn't even be in business." 2-Stars "I just wish I hadn't gone there." 3-Stars "Ok, but I won't be back." 4-Stars "I would come back! Recommended." And 5-Stars "an establishment nominated for Spike's Favorite list"

This has got to be one of the best barbeque spots I've had! Customer service from the workers was on point, and the food was even better. Wasn't sure what to expect from this place, being that it was out of nowhere, but the food speaks for itself! I got the shack pack, which came with 3.5lb of meat, 4 pints of sides, a bunch of toast, and two brownies! You can mix and match meats by the half pound, although they limit it to 1lb of brisket. I got to try their brisket, pork ribs, polish sausage, fried okra, tater tots, baked beans, and mac and cheese. For my family of four, it was definitely more than enough! The best things I got here would be their brisket, pork ribs, tater tots, and baked beans. The brisket was melt-in-your mouth soft. There was a good distribution of fatty and lean pieces that were really great! The pork ribs were also soft, and it came to our table without any sauce (bbq sauce was on the table), and it didn't look like a dry rub either. By itself, it tasted pretty average, but somehow, the aftertaste made it really delicious! You really get a hit of the smokiness in the meat after chewing on it a bit, and that was an experience I definitely have not experienced yet! The tater tots was everything I looked for in fried potatoes. It was very crispy on the outside, fluffy in the middle, and seasoned very well! The baked beans were quite literally the best I've ever had. I have no idea how they were able to get so much of the barbeque and meaty flavors mixed so well in those soft beans. There were small chunks of meat that you can scoop right up with those beans! Eat it together with the bread they give, and you have a perfect combo. Another thing I liked was the barbeque sauce that was on every table. There was one mild and one spicy that brought out a whole other flavor compared to the meat alone. If you are in the area, this place is definitely worth a try!

I have driven by here many times and finally had time to stop. The restaurant is adjacent to the High View Mini Mart and is easy to miss. As I walked up I could smell the smoke wafting in from the smoke house. The interior is small and sparse, but dont let that discourage you. The menu has all the usual items you would expect and they also offer daily specials. I chose the 2 meat potato with brisket and hot link. My platter arrived and looked delicious. They actually smoke the potatoes, then scoop the insides out, do some magic and put it on the tray. It is then topped with meats, cheese and sauce. The potato is served with a small salad and toast all presented nicely. Cant wait to come back and try some other things. If you live or work in Owasso you should come and try the food here.

Solid three with maybe a .5 added. Definitely not the worst BBQ we've had and definitely above average. We ordered Carolinas to go (pulled pork topped with coleslaw) along with a side of fries and mac 'n cheese. The sandwiches were a bit cold when we got home (not a long drive) but the macaroni was steaming and the fries were fresh. (Fries come with a special dipping sauce---kind of like the campfire sauce at Red Robin.) The mac 'n cheese was a bit above average but did merit some more pepper and a drizzle of the regular sauce elevated it a lot. We also asked for the regular sauce and the apple-habanero sauce. The former is Head Country. The latter is a really good sauce with just a hint of spice. (It's not HOT.) Prices were pretty good. I can see us picking up dinner here on the way home. You order at the counter and dining room is small (about 5 tables). The ribs must be great (according to Ted B.) and the guy who picked up a huge to-go order in front of us. If you're in a rush, I would call your order in.

    Cheese from my potato.

Unmelted cheese on the "smoked" potato that was awful & uncheesy greasy Mac & "cheese"I couldn't even eat.

Let me start by saying, I LOVE BBQ and this place has major punch in the face flavors. They don't mess around with their flavor game. I got two meat(hotlinks and brisket) potato. And Let me tell ya.... You are going to want to unbuckle your belt to eat it all and you are going to want to eat it all because of how savory, buttery, and meaty this masterpiece is. The the shredded bbq brisket was moist and melts in the mouth. The hot-link was poppin wi. I also had their banana pudding and whhhhhoooooweeeee it was SO good. The location: it's attached to a gas station. It was a tad difficult to locate but once you see a green gas station then you are there! It's not a typical gas station food joint and once Owasso lays their taste buds on this place, they'll need a bigger place. The people were so welcoming and so kind. Even if they weren't so wonderful I'd still give this bbq joint a 5/5 just for flavor alone. Oh yes it's hands down the best bbq potato in Owasso.

Expensive, small portions and almost every item contains pork. If one doesn't eat pork this is not a good option.

Found this place where my mom lives. She did not know it existed. Very tasty and portions were big enough we could have split a meal.

This past weekend, I was in Oklahoma and stopped by Billy Sims BBQ with my family. This is an order-at-the-counter place with self-serve drinks. I told the guy who took my order that I am celiac and he instinctively grabbed a piece of bread to put in the toaster, caught himself and asked me if I wanted him to change gloves. He and the manager told me that their potato salad, their meats and their sauces are gluten-free! Aside from their $5.99 sandwich and drink deal which is an amazing value but not gluten-free (my husband ordered it for himself) we got a few items to share with family. For $21.99 we got a 3 meat plate which came with 2 sides, pickles, peppers, onions and a slice of bread (obviously I didn't get bread.) I chose the polish sausage, sliced brisket and pulled pork along with double potato salad. My other family members ordered the $12.99 smothered baked potato (jacket potato) that comes with butter, sour cream, cheese, chives, meat, sauce. They wanted to split it so the potato pictured is only half of the potato! It's huge! This is a casual restaurant chain owned by a former local footballer, and there are locations in Oklahoma, Kansas, Missouri, Iowa, Wisconsin and Michigan in the USA. While the brisket was a tad dry for my tastes, I enjoyed all the sauces, the other meats and sides. The service was great and the price was a fantastic value. Visited: April 2024

Decided to just do some BBQ research in Owasso.... so today I headed to Billy Sim's BBQ for lunch…read more I ordered the 2 meat dinner with pulled pork and bologna, beans and potato salad, water to drink. Ordering is simple and not at all confusing. Read from a simple menu, place your order and get in the line to the cash register. Honestly the dude behind the counter was less than congenial, but it didn't impact my lunch or my review. Food was ready soon enough, given the 5 people ahead of me, so I count that as speedy enough. Food, in tasting order.... The toast.... definitely not the star of the plate. Texas toast instead of regular sliced, so it was more dense and chewy, and only toasted on one side. Who does that? And it wasn't hot or fresh. You could tell it'd been toasted and held for a while. But, you don't go to a BBQ joint for the toast, so that is what it is. The beans.... BS does what they call 'cowboy beans', and they're good, if not a little one-note. Basically they were canned pork and beans with some meat thrown in and a splash or two of BBQ sauce. I doubt they'd seen the inside of a smoker. They were fine, but they could have been oh so much more with just a little time and effort. The potato salad.... tender, creamy and packing a subtle but noticeable tang. I wouldn't call it outstanding, but it was a definite addition to the plate. The pulled pork... while having a moderate smoky flavor, it was also dry, lacking any of that fatty, juicy mouth feel that a good pulled pork should have. And, it got cold really quickly, so I suspect their holding process needs to be tweaked. You can hold pulled pork for a good long time without it drying out if you make the effort. The few bits of bark I got were outstanding, they were just few and far between. The bologna... sliced sandwich thin, there were at least 2 slices. It was pretty well done.... good taste, texture and mouth feel. I felt a little miffed at how thin it was sliced, but I readily admit that's just me. When I do it at home, it's sliced nearly 1/2" thick so you get a good bite. Again, not a detraction here, just an observation. The meats are 1/4lb each, clearly stated when you order, so you know what you're getting. Personally, I think the portions were a bit light for the money, but I don't run a restaurant and I'm not privy to BS's P&L statements, so that will just remain an opinion and nothing more. Cost ran to $19.51 for lunch, which is about a buck more than OJ's, but I also got a tad more food and it was a whole lot better, so I think value wise, BS nosed out a win on that score.
