When I first started she personally reminded her trainers/coaches that I was recovering from a c-section and they were all so great about giving me alternative movements and personalized attention so I didn't strain my body. The trainers are incredibly knowledgable when it comes to body mechanics/kinesiology-- and super down to earth and never pretentious. And the client personalization is BEYOND amazing. Over the course of 5 weeks, Christina checked in with me via text regularly and reminded me to set goals, really got me to understand my "why" for working out and keep me motivated. Would you believe I actually lost weight during the holidays?! Only 5 weeks in-- and I already feel a big difference in my posture, overall strength and endurance. Second, the daily workouts targets multiple parts of the body giving better results. Third, the flexibility of classes throughout the day. There should be no excuses when your health is a priority. I highly recommend at least trying out a class, give it a shot! I'm on my 23rd week of Bootcamp, I feel a lot leaner, stronger and my endurance has paid off when I do my Spartan Races. First and foremost, Kristin is a wonderful trainer. She is kind yet assertive, friendly yet disciplined. She's a great motivator and I always leave class exhausted. Each workout is unique and challenging. Even more importantly, Kristin is a fantastic person. I've run the gauntlet of the "hard-nosed" trainer to the "here's the workout, you do it" type of trainer, and Kristin falls right in the sweet spot. I actually got the deal for free since I had 3 friends sign up. Thanks to my 3 friends! :-) All of the Kaia programs are for women only! The six weeks simply flew by and I saw results throughout the course of the program. We started off with a one week detox (NO alcohol, carbs, sugar over 9g, dairy, or processed foods). That cleaned out our colons and jump-started our metabolisms. At first I was like, "What? No carbs? No rice... ???" but I told myself from the beginning I was going to commit to the program and that I did. For the remainder of the program we still had a strict nutritional plan that built on from the detox. Week 2 we went meatless, so that was when I made friends with tofu! Slowly we were able to add good carbs and dairy back into our diet. We worked out 3 days a week, 1 day in the gym and 2 days at a local park. Being able to exercise in the different parks was a nice break from being in the gym, although I love their gym too. It's not your traditional gym. There weren't any weights or machines around. Almost all of the training we did was sans equipment, sometimes a kettle bell or a resistance band or a jump rope. And each work out is different so you are never bored or know what to expect. A good and a bad thing! All of the trainers/coaches are wonderful: beautiful, strong, and motivating. Each of them became my muse. When you are surrounded by women who are healthy and happy, it really pushes you to achieve those same goals. They were all so helpful and accommodating, whether you needed a modification to an exercise you were doing or a food substitute. They also send out weekly newsletter emails that include the meal plans and recipes, and to give you words of encouragement, as well as provide nutrition and fit tips. They support you and they push you. As far as my results go, I don't normally weigh or measure myself, but I can just FEEL the difference. You know sometimes you have those fat days where you just can't fit into any of your clothes? Well, I don't have those anymore. I even have some abs! I was a varsity athlete throughout high school and I can honestly say I have not felt or looked better in my life. Kaia also has peak performance programs where you can train for a triathlon or other athletic endeavors. They will also sporadically organize hikes and fun, active things to do on the weekend. Here's the caveat: I only tried this program because I literally didn't have to spend any money on it. But still, for the results, the prices are very reasonable. The program that I did (normally a 5 week program, not 6) runs $129. It's not something I can afford to do all year round like some of the ladies, but a great deal to get in the best shape of your life. They also offer a 5 day a week, 6 week Bikini BRIK program for $229. I think I will try that next!

As a trainer he's committed to making sure you get the most out of your workouts. He's very attentive at correcting form, ensuring constant progress with new routines, and is patient and understanding. When I started there I was incredibly out of shape and could barely make it through the first day. Months later I have increased strength and stamina and although workouts are still challenging, my well-being has greatly improved. He can work with you one on one to help you meet your goals, and that includes identifying problem areas and how to modify your workouts to suit them. In my case we had to work around an injured muscle in my back and he had absolutely no issue accommodating this. For me, one on one workouts are a mix of HIIT and weights. He also has group fitness classes and he teaches boxing. He trains people of all ages. The gym is very clean and he's very good about sanitizing everything. It's a very positive environment and I'd encourage anyone to give this place a try! Update: Recently pre-cooked meals from Powered by Lex can be ordered online and picked up at this gym. There is a refrigerator inside where they are dropped off. The food is delicious, healthy, and each meal is portioned for one person. There is also a discount for members of the gym. I've tried more popular national meal services and they aren't nearly as flavorful or convenient as this local service. I'd highly recommend giving the meals a try if you decide to join the gym, especially if it's hard for you to manage healthy eating consistently.

I have tried going to the…read moregym by myself and with friends countless times, and I have tried a few classes elsewhere, but nothing has compared to the experience of Power Pack. Brandon and Sofia, the husband/wife team that own the gym, are the people who made me fall in love with working out. I was totally out of shape when I started with them, but I never felt embarrassed of where I was at, or like I wouldn't be able to participate. The classes are FUN. The energy is high and it always feels like you get the benefit of the group without any weird competitiveness. I tend to take boxing and barre. Boxing is a newer endeavor for men but one class got me hooked the point that I went and bought my own gloves! Barre is a shockingly hard workout, and great for when you want to feel your muscles shake (and struggle to walk the next day). Seriously, take a class. There's no wrong choice. Even if you have injuries, disabilities, etc. they are fantastic at modifying exercises and keeping you participating and working up a sweat all class!
