Jen, Josh and Julie are pretty great! I signed up for their 21 day rapid weight loss program and with their meal plan, group classes and encouragement I lost 8 pounds and many inches. They have guided me to a path of a much healthier and slimmer future. I enjoyed their spin classes so much so that other gyms I have tried since simply do not compare! Agree! Jen, Josh and Julie are awesome! After receiving GREAT triathlon training from both Jen and Julie I signed up for the 21 day rapid weight loss program....WOW.. I followed the meal plans provided by Josh. The meals were healthy and easy to make. The weight started to drop...and drop fast!. There were no gimmicks here.. nothing "as seen on TV"... no trendy drinks or shakes. The meal program was just real food, at the right time, in the right portion. This 21 day plan wasn't just about losing weight. Which I did. I lost 13 pounds in 21 days!!! ..but that's not the best part. My relationship with food changed. I first met Josh and Jen in May of 2012. I had been doing my own workouts for years and figured I had "my way' of doing things. Finally, I came to the realization that I needed help at all levels. So I simply walked in to their gym and asked for help. It was one of the best decisions I ever made. I could go into all the reasons of why, but the bottom line is you have to do what I did and simply walk in. As an ex-colligate athlete and a practitioner in the health care field I thought I had it all figured out. It wasn't until I worked with Josh and then eventually with his wife Jen that I realized how much things had passed me by. I credit Josh and Jen as a few of the people on my health team the basically saved my life. I mentioned Jen, she has become my running coach. I now do track practice every Saturday morning. There is nothing about me that ever said "track practice." She provides me with weekly running schedules and feedback that have now made my workouts profitable and fun. I am also now able to monitor my progress on levels I never had before. I dropped my fastest mile from 8:30 to 6:55 in a matter of months. The other great thing about these two is that they practice what they preach and are training themselves to hit new levels for themselves. Joining One10 has made me feel more like I am part of a team and not just a client. The others that workout with them are also great people and enjoyable to be around. I agree with a number of points other reviewers have made on the quality and effectiveness of One 10 Performance and Nutrition. For instance, Josh and Jen are very well educated in their field. Jen has a masters degree in Kinesiology and Josh has a masters degree in nutrition. I'm impressed! And that's just scratching the surface of their knowledge. I have been training with Jen for over two years and it has, without a doubt, changed my life. My original goal in working out with Jen was to lose weight... and I did. Now, for the first time, I am participating in 1/2 marathons and triathlons. I am making goals for myself that I never thought possible. My Dad started training with Josh just over a year ago and lost over 50 pounds. At 58 years old he just ran his first 1/2 marathon in 30 years. Jen, Josh and Julie are awesome! I was told about this place from a friend and am pleased with the entire experience. I signed up for a 21 day weight loss challenge. A meal plan was set up for us and classes were posted on the website. The class I most went to was spin. The awesome part about this gym is its very small groups! Sometimes two people to a trainer, sometimes 5 max. Over the course of 21 days I lost between 7-8 pounds, the average weight loss was in that range; the most being 11 lb! Several inches were shed and lower body fat %. Never for a second did I feel intimated. Let's face it- a lot of people don't want to hit up a gym because it's intimidating! I encourage anyone to walk in one10 and you'll leave excited. Whether you're wanting to become a top performance athlete or wanting to reach fitness goals- this place is perfect... Josh definitely know his craft. He understands people are not perfect and his training and nutrition take that into account. His not some roided out meathead with an online certificate opening up a gym and charging you to work out in his presence. Josh is a high performance athlete who travels around the world and competes in marathons, triathlons, and I things of that nature. He recived his masters in nutrition and is a published author,so he definitely knows what his talking about. As the scinece of health changes he keeps up to date, no worries about out dated fades. He will cater each program individual to your concerns and needs. I started his program in perfect health, but a few weeks in I blew out my knee in Tahoe. Josh work around my injuries and gave me awesome advice and insight into his own experiences with injuries. I'm currently waiting to do my surgery consulting and scheduling. Addition to previous review. Every year I set myself a strength goal. The first year was to be able to put on my socks easily while standing up -- I did it and I'm still doing it because I savor the victory every day! The second year (last year), I my goal was to lift my bike over my head easily but I couldn't make it because I broke my wrist. Spent this year rehabbing my wrist after having my entire arm in a sling for several mos. and finally, I am able to do it! I have full range of motion in my wrist now and stronger than before! Not bad for a 64 year old lady! Thanks, Josh, Jen, Julie and John! Gotta set a goal for next year now. p.s. I've taken two three month classes from One10 Performance and have had amazing results from each class. The work that Josh and Jen do with you is effective, fun and a great value. I used to go to the gym on my own and workout regularly but I never was able to break through those plateaus on my own. I always thought that having a personal/group coach would be too expensive and restrictive. I was pleasantly surprised at how fun it is, how much further I have been able to go and what a great value their programs are. They know their science and they make sure you are getting the specific attention you need while helping you achieve your goals (without injury) all at the same time. Josh has helped me transform my eating habits in a way that I never knew was possible. I thought I had a decent grasp on how to "eat right". Josh created a meal plan for me that not only helped me lose weight, but put me in a better place in my life. My mood has only gotten better. My cravings for sweets have almost vanished. My willpower to stay on track is thru the roof. I am recovering from my workouts a lot faster. My general wellbeing has only improved.
