    Royal pizza
    Leah R.

I visited in July and the pizza and service were really good. I tried the Royal pizza which had a bbq sauce base with smoked brisket, bacon and caramelized onions. It was very good. I also tried the house-made mozzarella sticks and the Busch Lite beer batter onion rings. The mozzarella sticks were excellent. The onion rings were good as well, but the batter was thick and crispy and fell off the onions. They are definitely worth a try if you like beer battered onion rings. They have a nice little patio that faces the main road (Hwy 71) that is good for people/traffic watching. They allowed my very small puppy on the patio which was a bonus!

The food was great and the service was fast! Two of us shared the pizza and the bread and it was plenty to make us full & take home left overs. Our waitress recommended to have the garlic bread with ranch & I will now pass on that recommendation to you! The interior was small but we were eating late so we were still able to get a table immediately!

SO HAPPY - literally thrilled about their seasonal options & want to try so many more of their types & flavors. They had a Mexican street corn pizza and it rocked my world. I asked for jalapeños on the side & it was incredible. Everyone ended up trying my slices & were well pleased. The pizzas are 12in, and they recommend a pizza per 2 people. The pricing is a bit steep & I think that was our only qualm. They're known for their speciality pizzas, if that's what you're wanting - this is your place! Their basics are okay. Their speciality pizzas? Incredible.

We walked right in and got a table. Place was busy. Not very big. Tried the pineapple beer on tap which was cold and refreshing. We had great service. A little bit long of a wait on the pizza but it was hot and tasted great. The mozzarella sticks were also tasty!

Half and half pizza. Sausage and pepperoni/Sausage, mushroom, jalapeño, and onion.

Food was excellent! We got the garlic bites and pizza. The appetizer was served incredibly quickly and the pizza was (not even kidding) the best pizza I have ever had! The pickled jalapeños were the perfect combination of sweet and spicy. It's a bit pricey but 100% worth every dollar. Will be back and highly recommend.

Onion rings were black. Why would the cook send those out ? Pizza was good but crust was burnt in spots. Very expensive cocktails.

Every Iowan beerfest I attend, I am always in search of the West O Beer tent. We popped in on our final night of vacation for a pint and some pretzel bites as the kiddos played out on their patio. Pricing was on par. Parking was a bit cramped, you can tell when the parking lot is full that the inside will be, too. You need to order at the bar. (They are closed on Monday, FYI.) The pretzel bites were good, mustard definitely had some kick. My West O Cocoa was the perfect end to vacation. I'll pop in this brewery again when we are in town!

Most of the seating is tall metal stools without backs, so pretty uncomfortable. We waited with our pager for an hour and still no pizza. Went to check if our order was lost and was told 10 minutes, 25 minutes later we finally had our pizza. If we had been told it was going to be almost 1 1/2 hours to get a pizza we would have had a beer and left. Also, being asked for a 20, 25, or 30% tip at an establishment that requires you to order at the bar, carry your own drinks, pick up your own food to carry it to your table, get your own plates and silverware, AND bus your own table when finished seems a little ridiculous. That being said their pizza and beers are really good!

Was told I'd have to make the drive in to the restaurant and show them my "pending" charge in order for them to help me and they would make my pizzas. Drove all the way there to be told my order didn't go through. A manager was on the phone with either another manger or the owner and just walked off and told another young man to help me while he was still on the phone. A young kid comes over and asks how he can help me. Well, the pass off was terrible this kid didn't know why I was there or how to help me. Then the manager who is on the phone hollers at me through the kitchen window to place my order online again and that my pending charge will just fall off. Seriously the customer service industry is dead, and no one is educating these young kids on how to help someone or diffuse a situation. You can't just walk off in the middle of helping someone because you are the only person who is allowed to "cut the pizzas." The only helpful person was a young man name Austin who offered to clean a table so I could sit down and wait for help.

Milford, Iowa 8 PM…read moreon a Tuesday night and this place is packed. I would not consider it a sports bar but more of a lively lounge. Only two people working. They are doing the bar, tables, wait staff, all of the above: two very busy girls. We sat ourselves and waited for them to bring a menu. The menu has much to choose from. Some really great appetizers, sandwiches and burgers. They fry everything in beef tallow. I ordered the Kentucky chicken bourbon sandwich. I chose the side salad with blue cheese dressing. My husband ordered a burger with fries. I ordered a draft beer. Can't go wrong for a large 16 ounce cold draft for $3.38. Restaurant is very clean. However, when they clean the table, they spray the table with chlorine or bleach, and it has a very strong smell. I really think they should spray it onto the rag and then wipe the table. I do not want to smell that or take the chance that it is going on my food while I am eating. Jumping back to the food, I asked for soup. It is September 2 and the waitress said "there is no soup" although soup is on the menu. It is not available until winter. A bit odd. My husband liked the burger. It came on Texas toast. He had fries with it as well. The burger comes plain. If you want anything on it from lettuce to tomato you have to pay $.25 extra. He asked for some mayonnaise. They gave him two packets of mayo and charged him $.52. Really? They also have a sign on the wall that says that they are charging a dollar more for every beef product on the menu as beef prices have gone up. Crazy! My Kentucky bourbon chicken sandwich was not the best. The chicken was dry and it had sautéed onions with too much sauce poured on the top. It was a sticky mess. My side salad was nothing but lettuce and shredded cheese with a few croutons. The waitress was kind and accommodating to my allergies. I appreciate her for that. Overall, I was not impressed and would not go back. Nor would I recommend this place. I give this place three stars only because of location.
