Okome is so yum! I didn't have high expectations on the quality of the sushi since it's AYCE but I was pleasantly surprised. The fish was fresh and everything was delicious! The staff is very friendly but doesn't come around quite often enough. Although there's a 10 min cooldown time between ordering rounds, the ordering process is very easy on the iPad. You have to ask the waiters for sauce, the iPad didn't work to order them but once we tracked down our server it was fine. Leftovers vary in price (hibachi is more expensive to take home than sushi) but it's easy to box up leftovers and go. read more

My coworker had been raving about this restaurant for quite a while and I finally got an opportunity to try it. The restaurant is located in a shopping plaza so there is shared parking out front. The restaurant is spacious with multiple tables inside. We came during the week for lunch. The all you can eat hibachi and sushi special is only $16. Our server explained the process to order our food from a tablet. Once your order is placed you have to wait ten minutes before you can order more food. There are multiple sushi rolls, chicken wings, soups, hibachi, dumplings, and etc available to order. The only catch is that if you do not eat the rolls you will be charged for them. When came right when the business opened but some of the desserts were listed as being out of stock. All of the food that we ordered was brought out together with some of the items such as the rolls and dumplings on the same plates. We weren't a fan of the miso soup. I came here for the lunch all you can eat, which was only $16, such a great deal! The food was really good and super filling. Everything came out fast, fresh, and tasty. I liked that there's a 10-minute wait between each order. It gave me just the right amount of time to enjoy what I had before ordering more. The location is also super convenient. There's a parking area which made getting in and out really easy. The location is clean, however, the floors were slippery. Overall, a great lunch spot with good value and quick service. My family went to Okome for AYCE sushi as an alternative to Mr. Tokyo. There was no wait and we were seated immediately, although it did take some time for someone to bring over the tablet to us to order. We were able to order from the tablet an unlimited number of rounds but there's a 10 minute grace period where you can't order anything right after submitting an order. The appetizers we ordered weren't bad, although the calamari definitely seemed frozen. The sushi came out on a boat which was fun. However, the sushi was a bit messily constructed and some rolls were drowning in sauce. The price ($25.99/person) is hard to beat and overall I was satisfied with the experience! read more

Oh Okome... I would come here more often if it was on the other side of Rlaeigh. I love Okome and their AYCE sushi options! My husband isn't that into raw fish, but he loves hibachi. Okome's hibachi is quite comparable to a hibachi restaurant, so he comes with me to Okome with almost 0 complaints. I love thier variety of sushi appetizer options! It's so fun trying them all before getting down to business. I love that we can order things through the tablet without having to flag anyone down. Aside from the sushi apps, other apps are so so. I wouldn't waste my stomach space on those. Try many sushi rolls and nigiri/sashimi. It will not disappoint! Parking is super easy as Okome is part of a big shopping center. This place is clean and fast! The quality of the sushi was pretty good and I enjoyed the hibachi as well. We were disappointed in the chicken katsu though. It was basically a cut up chicken nugget. They have a lot of hits and misses, but if you go a few times I'm sure you could make a strategic menu that would be great. The people bringing out the sushi didn't seem to know what anything was. We were promptly greeted and were shown to our table by a very efficient server. You place your order on a tablet. The sushi? It was just ok. If you're expecting high end sushi, this isn't it. Quality is akin to supermarket sushi. Nothing wrong with that if that's what you're expecting and if your goal is quantity over quality. A lot of the rolls were covered in sauces. When we went back to try to get a refund and they refuse refund and said we had to bring in a doctors note. I had video proof of my sickness and the manager was rude about the whole situation. Okome does a good job at providing AYACE sushi for individual or smaller groups, but logistically is less geared towards larger groups. The sushi here is solid and what you would expect from a nice AYACE sushi place. Good diversity in rolls and options for people looking to not only eat sushi (hibachi, side dishes, etc....). If I were coming here alone or with a small group, I think this place beats out Mr. Tokyo in Chapel Hill. The ability to easily order whenever you want from the tablet is very useful, and being able to see pictures of the rolls was a very nice quality-of-life improvement. For larger groups, I think Okome begins to struggle. The way ordering works is everyone at the table orders from 1 tablet. So with a big group, a giant order is being placed under 1 ticket. Our table of 5 experienced wait times of up to 35 min before orders arrived. The sushi is also served on shared plates, so with bigger groups, being able to distinguish who ordered what was difficult. I think if Okome can improve on the way larger groups are served this would be a fantastic place to eat. read more

I went with a friend and we ordered 2 appetizers, 4 rolls, and a mochi dessert. I thoroughly enjoyed each sushi roll we ordered and they were all extremely flavorful! The appetizers (spring rolls and gyoza) were also delicious as well. You also can't go wrong with some ice cream mochi. The service was quick, it didn't take long after ordering for the items to come to our table and our waitress checked in often to make sure we had everything we needed. We have been looking for a closer, good AYCE Sushi spot than Mr. Tokyo in Chapel Hill. We have found it! Okome House in Raleigh did not disappoint. The staff was very pleasant and big praise to our server Yeslie who checked in on us often to make sure all was well. She was so nice. The AYCE was priced well for lunch at $15.99 and the selection was generous. The rolls had good flavor and everything was fresh. I would say that the sushi was on par with Mr. Tokyo.... Maybe even a tad better. You place your order on the provided tablet and it couldn't be easier. A nice vibrant photo of every item is provided with a description. Once you are ready, just click send and your sushi will soon arrive. A sign is placed at every table explaining that if you have leftover sushi, you will be charged .50 to $1.00 per piece, depending on the item. All appetizers, salad and soup are pretty good. Specially the sashimi popper very thin slides but quite fresh. It has alittle spicy kick makes it perfect. My kids really love the wings. One of my kids asked to give 5-stars bc of the wings. The rolls are ok. But the hand made eel roll is one of a kind. A big piece of avocado and eel plus cucumber and other vegi wrapped in seaweed is a must try. The udon is ok, steak is a bit dry but tender. Overall the food is pretty good. Until July 11, I would have spoken of this company only in the highest regard. But due to the dishonest, disrespectful, and insensitive way they conducted themselves, I--like many others--will be leaving a well-earned 1 star review. Since its opening in August 2024, I worked many hours at Okome as a server and occasionally as a host. On the July schedule, my name was listed under "food runner"--a position I was unaware of. No one had informed me of this change, provided a clock-in number, or told me what my wage would be. I wasn't intentionally avoiding work; I simply hadn't been given the necessary information. Thirty minutes after my shift was supposed to begin, I received a call from another server telling me I was suspended for two weeks. I tried to speak to someone about it, but was told to wait out the suspension. On July 25, exactly two weeks later, I took an Uber to work because I was listed on the schedule for that day and the remaining days of July. A manager--who I won't name--told me I had to wait until another manager finalized the August schedule, despite being the one who suspended me. I asked him directly, "Do I have a job here? Just tell me." I'm going to stop my story right where he could have--by simply saying "no." But he didn't. I truly cared for this restaurant. I was an excellent server. I endured a lot of negativity and used it as fuel to grow, both professionally and personally. If you've had me as your server, you know I'm not vindictive or angry. So maybe I'm naive, but it BAFFLES me that this company I took so much pride in could lie, discard, and replace me without a second thought. I will never return to eat here and you shouldn't either. Let me begin by saying I really wanted to give this place 5 Stars! Unfortunately, it is not worthy. We visited here Monday night (MLK Day) for my son's birthday. There were 9 of us in our group. We had requested reservations at 6, but were told 630 was better. We called ahead to ensure our 630 reservation and they confirmed. When we arrived the two parties ahead of us were arguing with the hostess regarding seating and how they were being treated. We waited our turn fully expecting to immediately be seated. However, the hostess told us that even with reservations that we were still going to have to wait 30 minutes. I went to the manager and he corrected her for us to be seated. Unfortunately, she had the absolute worst attitude! She should NOT be in customer service. The young male host was nice and offered my son, the birthday boy, a fried cheesecake. Once we were seated the customer service from the waitress and others were great. The AYCE menu is on an iPad and self ordered. You have 2 hours and you cannot order within 10 minutes of your prior order. Our tactic was to order a lot up front to minimize the need for additional orders. Fortunately it worked. We ordered a considerable amount of food and we only needed one additional order plus our dessert order for the 9 of us for the remainder of our visit. Unfortunately, I discovered a hair in my chicken wing sauce. They did a great job of responding with an apology and offered a $10 gift card. I don't get grossed out with hair so a replacement order sufficed. After tax and autogratuity the bill came to $300 for the 9 of us. The food is about as good as you'd expect for AYCE. If the experience wasn't ruined by the hostess, then the service would've been great and I would've rated higher. Being that we are 40 minutes away in Cary, it was not good enough for us to return anytime soon. Unfortunately, my $10 gift card will probably go to waste. read more

I've been to Okome three times within their first month of opening and the food and service have been consistently superior. It's a casual and clean place. I have no problem with their policy to charge for uneaten food. Good! It will encourage people to be more mindful of what they're ordering and not waste food. I appreciated that they didn't pack every sushi roll with an overwhelming amount of rice and there was a large variety of different rolls, appetizers, sides etc to try! I really loved the seaweed salad and shrimp stir-fried udon noodles as well. Waitress was very friendly and her service was excellent. Environment was clean. I saw this restaurant on TikTok and decided to give it a try for the lunch AYCE today with my boyfriend. The hostess did not explain the ordering system to us clearly, so I completed my ticket and my boyfriend had to wait 10 minutes before he could order. It took nearly 45 minutes for his food to be delivered, and my "special" role took around 30. We ordered very modestly, so this was disappointing. During that waiting period, our waitress (who I believe to be the hostess) only checked in twice after I waved her down asking for wasabi (we were there for an hour and a half). A different waitress (I think Laura) was much nicer and checked in on us more often than our server. When we were ready to leave, we "called for assistance" on the iPad because it had been awhile since our ur waitress checked on us. Waited another 10 minutes and just decided to walk up to the front. Our waitress was behind the counter, ignoring us, and then finally rang us up. Others have said it well, it's about what you'd expect quality wise for an AYCE sushi spot, but the service was the most disappointing part of it all. Won't be returning. read more

My first time experiencing an AYCE sushi restaurant, and my impressions so far are mixed. Nice & welcoming clean atmosphere, with very nice staff, so no complaints there. Price... 24.99 a person for dinner, not bad since a regular sushi restaurant you'll pay this price for 2-3 small rolls alone. The surcharge for leftover food is weird to me. I don't think people intentionally waste food... but it sucks that if you don't like something you feel as if you are forced to eat it. Also, I think it's petty to be surcharging people for leftover bits of rice?? Thats crazy. Dessert is not free and not apart of the AYCE option (I would think paying 50$+ I could get a free slice of store bought cake). Anyway, food is decent, except a deep fried roll I wish I didn't order but I had to eat anyway because surcharge pressure. Sushi tasted fresh and not super fishy which is a green flag on my field. The portions are really nice, not overly filling the plate or under filling it. Buffalo wings were pretty good, crispy and saucy which is another green flag. Do not eat the shumai because it tastes like deep fried phlegm. Fried shrimp was tasty and super crispy soft on the inside. Crab ragoons were okay but tasted too sweet and rich for me. Hibachi was really good but the Yum Yum sauce was watery and def not Yum Yum lol. almost all their sauces are SO damn sweet and watery it was like dipping our food in sugar syrup. Wasabi tasted like legit crayons, no spice whatsoever. Soy sauce tasted watered down like as if someone literally topped it off with tap water. I cannot stress enough do NOT get any sauces because they have gross after tastes. Food to me was a solid 3/5 stars.
