After picking through the 6 baskets. We have a little over one basket that is somewhat ok. Still over ripe and bruised up all over, but not trying to throw them all out. In the pics you will see how horrible the fruit was. I dont know how this happened and never have we got bad fruit until these last 2 trips. Great variety of fruits and a handful of veggies, such as peaches, plums, pluots, nectarines, onions, carrots, tomatoes, avocados, and lots of berries. Their strawberries are beautiful and absolutely delicious, highly recommend!! Only thing is the service is not necessarily great but the variety of options makes up for it. I could throw a rock and hit Hayashi strawberry Farm, but since they sell moldy strawberries and charge premium prices, we've gone to Okui for over 30 years and never ever been disappointed. I don't know if it's a special breed or if it's something they're feeding the strawberries, but these are the sweetest most delicious strawberries I've ever had in my 63 years! They also have the best flowers for the best price in the area, I can get a bouquet for $14 loaded with stargazer lilies and other varieties as well as a greenery and mixed flowers and make a huge bouquet that would cost me $150 from the florist. In fact, when we have my parents celebration of life, I bought three bouquets, and had enough to make arrangements for tables for 180 with some leftover for a different arrangement. They also carry produce, and take credit cards as well as cash. If you're visiting the area, don't miss it,it is central Coast treasure! read more

I went on Easter and they were kind enough to open up a little earlier than usual. The strawberries were beautiful. I found their blueberries and white strawberries to be especially tasty. They are definitely the best strawberries in the area. However, I wish they let ppl choose the strawberries that go in the baskets they buy as they aren't cheep & nearly half the basket ends up being rotten - when you get home you realize they hid all the rotten ones on the bottom half of the basket & you have to throw them away which is so disappointing & wasteful. read more

My sister in law brought some of their strawberries to a family gathering-- and I was immediately in love! These strawberries taste like SUGAR! I live in Los Angeles and I drive in 3 hours just to get strawberries from Okui's stand, hubby tells me to grab strawberries from closer to us in Ventura, but I refuse! I've even taken my out of town family and friends to this stand just so we can buy several pints and eat them at the beach. Another amazing season! Okui's has the best tasting strawberries in the world! They should have a sign that says so! The people that work here are all really nice. This year when I arrived there was a long line it's incredible to see so many nice faces! The line moved fairly quick. Came in mid August and it is a worth a stop for the strawberries: absolutely flavorful and delicious! They accept card and cash. I also bought some nectarines and peaches from the stand and unfortunately they were mealy and not very flavorful. If ever in the Grover Beach neighborhood one would suggest stopping by the Okui strawberry stand. They are an open field strawberry (and more) on the side of the road where you can watch workers hand pick strawberries and I appreciate their hard work every time you bite into a strawberry. The Okui strawberries are not only humongous, but they are also really sweet and juicy. It is always suggested to wash your fruits thoroughly, but we can't help ourselves indulging in one or two right away. While watching the workers hard at work and hearing the cashiers helping the next customers with a cheerful smile it's always good to take a step back to appreciate your fellow man and the abundance of nature. read more
