After the facial, I was shown "premium" products and told the total would be around $1,000, which had never been discussed. I explained that I could only afford around $500, and I was considering a selection of products within that range. However, when I asked whether one item, specifically an SPF, was necessary, the tone shifted. I was told there was no point in continuing to go over products if I was not going to purchase anything and that we "were not a good fit," to which I agree, but not because I asked questions or was unwilling to buy. As a result, I chose not to purchase anything and canceled the next appointment. I left feeling dismissed and unwelcome. As a young client still in college, I would have expected a more understanding and respectful approach rather than pressure. Overall, the lack of professionalism made this an uncomfortable experience.

I can't recommend Simin highly enough! She is not only the best in LA - I am sure she is one of the…read morebest in the world: LA is my hometown but I have lived in different states as well as many years abroad in different countries, and I basically gave up on trying to find a waxist anywhere else. No one measures up to Simin -- they're either not properly equipped, don't know what they're doing, or are outrageously priced. Simin offers quality and value. She's experienced and has been operating from the same location in Westwood for decades. She uses only high quality fabric strips and melted European honey wax (as well as pink wax for sensitive areas). She's very thorough, but you can also look yourself over and let her know if she missed any spots and she's always happy to go over them again; she even takes the time to tweeze hairs here and there that are too short to be waxed. As I noticed other Yelpers have already pointed out, she's very good with hygiene and maintaining her work space so her salon always feels clean. And what really seals the deal are how reasonable her prices are. Most of the times I've made the mistake of trying to get waxed elsewhere I've been (sometimes literally) sorely disappointed. On the few occasions I've had decent results, it was never good value like it is with Simin. I refer her to all my girl friends and know how loyal her clientele are because just like me they don't go to anyone else but her. So for years every time I am back in town I make sure to schedule an appointment with Simin, otherwise while I am away I try various methods of self grooming at home (even though Simin often scolds me for shaving as she can tell on my next visit when my hair is "razor cut").
