We hung out mostly on the side bar called Walter's because they had several screens playing the game. While there we just scan the qr code menu, place an order, and within minutes it was delivered to our table. Drinks were good, food excellent, and great service. Perfect spot to spend the weekend.

I arrived for a quick brunch at the food hall with some friends and immediately walked the food hall to see the different vendors. They had opened 30 mins to an hour prior, but it seemed like the place was still opening up (cleaning windows, some stalls weren't open yet) but that was ok because we were the only ones there. I grabbed two empanadas from A lo Cubano and grabbed a booth. According to their website: "The Great Southern Box Company Food Hall & Bar [...] transforms the original citrus warehouse from Dr. Phillips' into a bustling culinary hub focused on immigrant cuisine. (You know what store I'm talking about... starts with an H) Fine, but my personal observation especially based on the visit I made last week is that even though the other market is being hyped up by social media; Lotte is still a better, and more affordable market. Granted, the food court choices at the other location are better, I'd still come to Lotte when I need specific asian ingredients. It seems they're aware that theres more competition and they've not only done renovations to the store but they have a lot more specials now than before. The day we went they even had several people promoting products and giving out samples. I don't recall them ever doing that before and I think that's a great idea to boost sales in items. Rain was in the forecast, so the team moved the movie indoors, which was a nice adjustment and allowed everyone to still enjoy the event. One thing to note is that several of the food vendors were closed during our visit, which limited some of the dining options. I'd recommend calling ahead to make sure all the restaurants you want to try are open before making the trip. As for the food, I was a little underwhelmed by the burger. For the price, I expected more flavor. Thankfully, we ended the night at Kelly's Ice Cream in the yard area. Overall, City Food Hall has a lot of potential, especially for groups, but checking vendor availability ahead of time can help ensure the best experience.

It is filled with tourists due to the connected hotel and proximity to the airport, so even on a Tuesday it felt packed in here. The layout feels almost like a labyrinth but there is a lot of signage on where to go. Most of the stores are ones you can find at most malls, but there are quite a bit of 'unique' stores as well. You've also got the Crayola experience, which is pretty large. While this mall wouldn't be my first choice to go to, it does do the trick if you're needing your fix of big name stores.

Last year we went and they had Christmas flamingos. They had more this year. They also passed out Christmas bags with Simon mall logo on them. I would be back for this event. My issue with The Florida Mall is that the A/C doesn't work well. It's a huge mall with tons of shops and tons of people walking around. They are so busy. We were looking for stores with the best A/C bc we couldn't really beat the heat here. Primark has the best A/C. Along with Armani Exchange, Ghirardelli bc of their chocolates, and The TNS Store. I wish I could have stayed longer but the lack of A/C made me want to leave. I very much loved the Xmas in July Event and Santa, Mrs. Claus, the elves, the photographer, and the other people working were so nice. The AC is sure lacking and this was the issue last year. Perhaps the big space, older mall and open ceiling exposing the sunshine sure doesn't help. This is a very popular mall. It could def be better here.

They have a good variety of restaurants and a couple shops. It's a lot more chill than other places in Orlando I feel like, and seems to be mainly locals rather than tourists. We came for breakfast and I got Lineage Coffee, Papi's Burritos, and Gideon's Cookies. We sat outside and there's plenty of seating and open air concept outside. It has such a strong local vibe and it is cool to see a mix of smaller vendors alongside some more well known food spots. That said there are a few things worth noting. First, seating can be a challenge. There is plenty of outdoor seating but not much indoors. The day we went it was pretty hot and sitting outside was not the most enjoyable experience at times. Second, I fully support spending money at local businesses but the tipping culture here felt a bit excessive. I bought a bag of coffee beans with no drink and was prompted for a tip. I spent $45 for 12 pieces of chocolates at Oban Chocolatier and was asked for a tip there too. Same thing when I spent about $25 on four cookies at Gideon's Bakehouse. I am happy to support but it started to feel like a lot in a not enjoyable way. Third, the hours between vendors can be a bit awkward. We came around brunch time which worked for some spots but others were not open yet. For example, Domu does not open until dinner (5PM) and Gyukatsu Rose was not opening until later in the afternoon (3 PM) Overall, I think this is a great place to check out especially if you enjoy trying a variety of local spots. Just plan ahead for seating and timing and be prepared for lots of tip prompts along the way.
