This is my absolute favorite place to order take out. I've been going to them since they were in Waterford lakes (previously known as Pine Garden Chinese, Apple Maps shows Pine Garden Magic China Cuisine for the new location in lake underhill). I normally go to pick it up but I believe they offer delivery as well. The food is always great and I appreciate the portion sizes. I've genuinely never had a bad experience with them. Every time I've gone in I've seen kids working the front cash register and I absolutely love that it feels like a family business. Magic China is a couple of storefronts down from Bjs, checked menu, bingo, they serve half a chicken which my husband enjoys. This is actually about the 2nd time here and I noticed the price increases, ouch! But alas, dinner must be served. I like that there is no indoor dining, order, step out or TRY to social distance in the small area with 5 seats they set up by the door. Nope, I waited in my car. I ordered half a chicken, super crispy with pork fried rice, general tsos chicken dinner combo with pork fried rice, served with egg roll & choice of soup, wonton or egg drop, I chose wonton, small garlic chicken with white rice. Listen, it is not NYC Chinese, (I miss it soooo much), but it was not bad. Three stars because the half a chicken was not crispy as requested (but I had to wait 20mins anyway) and the garlic chicken was not as spicy as I have had in other places. This is partially a review and an open apology to this restaurant. I will be back and I recommend this as the best in Orlando. I've tried many Chinese spots in the area. I love this place, it's truly the best quality sesame chicken I've ever eaten. The problem was the Dr Pepper I ordered was a weird cream soda version and I requested a refund for the drink from Uber eats. They refunded me fully and I feel horrible about it. I wasn't attempting to steal from a small business. The food is well worth the price, tasty every time without fail. Portions are exceedingly fair. I stopped by here on a Saturday afternoon about 2:00 and my daughter and I ordered a few lunch specials to go. The two young men behind the counter was not very familiar with their menu. Not a big deal, but you would think they would have a small amount of knowledge of the menu. I think a stranger off the street would be able to tell me more. They were pleasant enough, but when I greeted them, I just received a stare. The inside is very spartan and "messy." Not dirty, but there was clutter. Books lying on a table. Packages of napkins on another table. OK, for the important part, the food. Sadly, underwhelming. I had the hot and spicy beef and the beef had a definitive shrimp or seafood flavor attached to it. Maybe they are cooking everything in the same used oil, I don't know. Anyone allergic to shellfish, proceed with caution. My daughter remarked the same. The portion of hot and spicy beef to the side of fried rice was also pretty substantial. Definitely trying to fill people up on the rice and cutting short the entrees. To quote an old Wendy's commercial, "Where's the beef?" Oh, I had a wonton/egg drop soup and it wasn't bad, though most places give you three wontons, here gives you two. I only ordered a sesame chicken combo plate (which comes with pork fried rice, a soup, and eggroll). I thought the sesame chicken was really delicious, moist, and flavorful! It was definitely the highlight of my meal. The pork fried rice was okay; it was just the yellow rice and pork, there weren't any vegetables, not even onions. That was a bit of a bummer, but the egg drop soup was perfect on a cold night and super soothing. The eggroll how ever seemed to be more of the fried wrapping and no meat, just vegetable which isn't typical from a Chinese restaurant from my experience. Overall, I'm enjoying the food and there's definitely more than enough for one person with one combo plate. That being said I did order this from door dash and it was about $14. This is our go-to for Chinese takeout. It is 5 miles away from where we live so its easy to call and order or even drop in for takeout. It is in the same plaza as Goodwill and BJs off of Lake Underhill near Waterford Lakes. We stopped by here after a shopping trip. We parked and ordered takeout- I got Orange Chicken with Lo Mein(extra cost) and egg drop soup-- my husband got Kung Pao with fried rice and wonton soup. There is SO much food. I eat a lot and I was able to eat dinner and then TWO more meals for leftovers. What I love: - Parking is easy- lots of available spots - quick service - sauce is never extra(even if you request extra of the sauce they make) - friendly employees - how they pack the takeout (never spills in my car!) What left more to be desired: - the chicken quality... I'm REALLY picky about chicken, and this just doesn't make the cut(gristle, tough, odd looking when cut into) - the size of the dine in area- we almost ALWAYS take it to go, because there is only a few tables inside I feel like the chicken quality at most Chinese places is about the same. The orange chicken sauce is so delicious-- I could order just the noodles with that sauce and be happy-- I might try that next time. read more

I don't know how long "Pine Garden Restaurant" has been part of "Magic China" or who is the actual owner now BUT we went there yesterday for our usual "Happy Family w/white sauce, Pork Fried Rice, Egg Drop Soup w/wantons, Egg Rolls and Spring Rolls. EVERY THING CHANGED FOR THE WORST. Happy Family totally different ingredients, TERRIBLE, White Sauce no longer the same "no flavor" used to be sweet. Egg/Spring Rolls, GUMMY. Even the Egg Drop soup w/Wontons totally different, Wontons meat no flavor and Sop Salty. To top it off even the Chinese Noodles in the little bag have changed "ARGFFFF". Judging from this I would guess that the Restaurant is now under the ownership of Pine Garden Restaurant. If it ever returns to what Magic China used to be with their Recipes I will return but now I have to find another Chinese Restaurant. read more

Ok so I'll admit that I didn't even know Magic China existed until I came upon this page on Yelp! And the irony is that I literally live down the street from it. So, I figured I would give it a go. Decided to check out the website since I really wanted to have food delivered and not have to leave the house. In the process I discovered that not only did they deliver to my place, they also had an online ordering system! Now I know what you're thinking--"what? a chinese place with an online ordering system? I bet the website is poorly designed and badly maintained..." Well, there is where you would be wrong--not only is the website easy to navigate, there are even little popup boxes that come up with reminders about certain things (ex: you must place a minimum $15 order in order to get food delivered). And once the food from Magic China was delivered, I could tell right away that I would not be dissatisfied with the portion sizes. While this is true at most Chinese restaurants, I figured it was worth noting here. I ordered the Sesame Chicken combo platter (which came with soup, rice, AND an egg roll), and I was happier with the taste of my chicken than I am with the other places around here I have ordered from in the past. My husband and I are regulars at this restaurant. It has the typical Chinese food menu at the typical prices. The food and service are what makes Magic China a little less than typical. They are really quick and super-friendly. The family that runs it always recognize us when we go in and do their best to give us great service. They also just started offering sushi and boba tea. If you have any other option for food... Take it. You cannot do worse than the quality of this Chinese food... I suspect all the positive out of town reviews, may be friends or family, trying to help them overcome just how incredibly bad this place truly is... There is only one flavor, no matter what you order, so you better like the taste of bad fish, because anything fried, you guessed it, wreaks of bad fish... The rangoon, the egg role, the pot stickers (dumplings), fried soup noodles, we're just variations in shape... Whatever may or may not be inside the dumplings ran goons, and egg roles, doesn't matter... You will not taste it anyway... The entrees ordered were Shrimp in Lobster Sauce... So bland that the sauce actually sucked the shrimp flavor out of the shrimp... Water would have more flavor than that sauce... Next up was Kung Po Shrimp (just 4 of them in our order by the way).... Again no flavor at all... Except for the water chestnuts... Normally flavorless, theirs have been soaked in something which provided the only "spice" in their "spicy" dish. I am still chewing on the gristle in the Bourbon Chicken, our 3rd dish, which at one point was like chewing rubber bands soaked in the only sauce that actually had flavor... It was a bad flavor!!! Finally, as a fan of egg drop soup, to pour it into a bowl and have it be the consistency of cottage cheese made my stomach churn... Speaking of which, as I write this I think I am actually getting sick... Never never again... I am actually burping up the most vile fishy taste and smell... I'd wager they haven't change that oil in months! I'm the idiot... These people have been getting bad reviews for years.. I guess if they cared, they would have fixed it by now... We have been ordering to-go from Magic China Cafe for years and I have always been satisfied. It tastes like Miami style Chinese food. I like the chicken and broccoli and the sweet and sour chicken. I also really enjoy their wonton soup and fried wontons. On the chicken and broccoli they could be a little more generous on the chicken portion. They offer delivery through the restaurant and also on Uber Eats. I recommend using the restaurant delivery as Uber Eats has a huge mark up. My normal order was $10 more on Uber Eats. However I will say Uber Eats will get you your food faster especially if it is during the busy dinner hours. Never had any issues with the food tasting fishy or funny as some reviews state. Did have one instance where the outside bag smelled like cigarettes, and they never send hot mustard packets anymore even when you ask but that is the worst I could say. read more

Their lo mein is also quite delicious. The only thing that could be considered an issue I've ever had with them is one of my egg rolls was overcooked (not burnt, just badly crunchy) and they gave me wonton soup instead of egg drop. I feel like it might be because I couldn't tip a lot that day (I was paying with my mother's card so i only tipped 1 on a $10 takeout, instead of 2 which i normally would) because when he saw the receipt he stared at it for a minute as if judging my tipping before getting my food, but that could be just me. read more
