This used to be one of our favorite places. I was so excited to be on this side of town (we moved an hour away) and go there tonight. We arrived at 5:52pm (they opened at 5:15pm) and were told it would be over a 30 mins wait. We saw multiple tables open with reserved signs, but their website had no reservation system, so we were confused. We had our 5yo with us, so we decided not to wait and went to the car to order takeout. We watched three parties after us walk in and walk back out -- getting told a 30 mins wait when you see so many open seats is discouraging -- but, here's the kicker. I decided to go sit inside at 6:15pm to wait for my food. Two parties who had walked in AFTER us were seated AND HAD THEIR MEALS and were NOT at the reserved tables (those were all still open; 20 mins later). Meaning, the hostess who quoted 30 mins wait really had no idea about the pacing of the diners there and a bunch of parties had left. In fact, the owner tried to seat me when I walked in and two more parties came in and were sat freely, after I had been quoted a 30+ mins wait less than 20 mins before. People who came in 5-10 mins after we walked in were halfway through their dinner when I sat down, and one was even paying as I got my takeout order -- which took a full 37 mins for two curries and edamame. I planned to forgive everything for the food, because, really, that's what I was here for ...but the recipes have changed. The quality isn't the same. This is not the SEA Thai my husband and I used to dine at once per week for years. It was salty and watery. I'm so sad. LISTEN UP! This place has been around for a LONG time and it is some of the best Thai food I've ever had. I've ordered takeout, dined in, gotten it delivered. It's good! They updated the aesthetic and menu a few years ago but the food has remained the same, as in still flavorful. The staff is very efficient and the food is brought to you in a timely manner. It makes me so happy to see them busy still to this day. My favorite things to eat there are the coconut lemongrass soup with chicken, their cucumber salad and their thai tea. The soup always hits the spot and the cucumber salad always tastes so fresh. The last time I came here, my and my friend chatted and caught up and didn't feel rushed by the staff. Good vibes! We went to the Tuun pop up on Sunday and every item we ordered hit the perfect note! There are 8 items on the menu but unfortunately only ordered 3 - Roti, Shrimp, Tuun fried rice. Each item had so much flavor and uniqueness compared to the regular Sea Thai menu. We want to go back to order the rest of the menu next time! My husband was craving pad Thai so he ordered his usual tofu pad Thai with shrimp tom yum soup - both delicious and hit the spot as usual. We came here at the strong recommendation of a friend so we were really looking forward to it. We came on a Friday evening around 6pm and the place was packed so we figured we were in store for a delicious meal. The chicken satay was flavorful and highly recommended. We also ordered the chicken panang curry and the khao soi noodles. This is where the food fell short. The panang curry had such a mild flavor to it; pretty hard to mess this plate up but they fell short with the seasoning on it. The khao soi noodles were decent but the beef in the plate was probably the most tough and chewiest beef I've had all year. I have to assume that maybe their supplier had rough options that week, so maybe not totally the restaurant's fault. Maybe we will give it another chance a few months from now as we do value our friends' opinion and maybe the restaurant had an off week. read more

Randomly found this spot because of quicksand wine bar. Yes does Seathai have great Thai food for the American palate, of course. But if you come on the weekend they have a tasting menu under a pop up called Tuun. The chef Jack does such a great job at introducing new and unique flavors from Thai cuisine. The citrus salad was refreshing with an umami funk from the fermented fish and the Penang short rib was a flavor bomb in every bite. This is one of the best little hidden gems out here in Orlando! So much that I want to gatekeep but that's not right. They deserve all the credit and all the love. I haven't been to this restaurant in many years. And glad to know that the menu hasn't changed very much. I still think that they have the best yellow curry and all of Orlando. And I'm also pretty excited to try again their pad see u. Overall is pretty quiet on a Friday night when they first opened around 5-5:30 PM. Our servers were quick, but not really talkative. There were a lot of people stopping in to pick up takeout orders, but we had the restaurant all to ourselves. I've never a bad meal here. Their salted and pepper calamari was tasty. Nothing special about this strip-mall thai place. First sign something was off was my silverware rolled in a thin dollar store napkin. Ordered coconut soup with chicken. It was served barely room temperature, which made me wonder how long it was sitting in the kitchen like that. Had it reheated, just average tasting. Service was average, too. An older woman who I assume was an owner was unfriendly. This place seems to be a local favorite, but that doesn't change my experience. There's plenty of better thai restaurants nearby. Absolutely LOVE sea Thai! A friend of mine recommended sea thai and we stopped by for dinner. I usually order Laab but decided to try Nam Sod because it seems similar but had so much more flavor. We also go the basil chicken which came with white rice. I also wanted to try the pad Thai. Both were amazing with sooo much flavor! We picked the spicy for the pad Thai and medium spice for the basil chicken. The spice profiles were great, it's hard to explain but the hot spicy gave the food more flavor. Sea Thai is definitely a casual place but I loved the interior design and feel of it. It still felt like a nice place to take friends and family to. Service was also quick and efficient. 5 Star update for one of my go-to Thai spots in town featuring the best pineapple fried rice you'll ever taste. My previous review stands (see below), but I have to shout-out my favorite dishes here- a list which has some new additions! - Pineapple fried rice: This dish is perfection. Sweet, tangy, savory, perfection. I recommend pairing it with tofu or chicken, and be sure you're intentional about heat level. I'm a mild girly, and this dish comes without any hint of heat if you prefer it that way. My partner likes things hot and it hits the spot for him too. It's hard to order anything else on the menu. - Pad See Ew with udon noodle substitution: This is a rich, savory dish that's made even better with the Japanese-style udon noodles. - Crispy duck with udon noodles: I just tried this one yesterday and it is a new favorite. The duck skin is perfectly crisped up and the savory/tangy udon noodles and vegetables are ideally paired with the rich protein. I recommend either eating in-house (a great ambiance), or ordering delivery directly from their website (versus delivery apps, that take a portion from the local biz). Enjoy! They have the traditional pad see ew noodles (wide and flat), but I highly suggest subbing them out for the Japanese-style udon noodles. The texture is GREAT with the savory dish. The second dish is the pineapple rice (fried rice). I don't normally order fried rice because of too many bland dishes in the past, but they clearly put work into this version because it is popping with flavor. Everyone agreed that this was a favorite and one to be repeated in the future. When you order, be sure to specify your spice level preference as they can do this from extremely mild to Thai hot, and everything in between. I haven't been there in person in years (been ordering a lot of takeout and delivery!), so I can't speak to the current atmosphere, but in the past they were super clean and a great date night spot-- Don't judge it on the plaza it sits in! I've lived in Orlando for so many years, and I can't believe I didn't start coming to Sea Thai until just the past year! For a while, I personally had a hard time finding a good Thai restaurant. This place is so yummy and has quickly become one of my go-to spots. Whether I'm ordering to-go or dining in, the quality is always on point, especially for the price. One thing I love is their lunch specials - they're a great deal and definitely worth trying (I'll post a few photos here, though apologies for the quality!). The staff is super friendly, which makes the experience even better, and the interior is nice and cozy for dining in. We visited during lunch and I didn't expect it to be busy but it was. They let us choose whichever table we'd prefer to sit at and we placed our order quickly. For the food we tried the Khao Soi with pork and the Pad See U with chicken. Of the two I preferred the Pad See U. The Khao Soi was still good but I felt I have tried others that were better. It did come out a little cold, and they didn't ask how spicy we wanted it. Overall, Sea Thai has great prices, big portions and fast service! My daughter has gone here a million times with her mom and grandparents, but I have never been here. Let me tell you that looks are deceiving. Outside is a normal facade in an older plaza... BUT once you step inside.... you are transported to this modern and chic environment ... very nice and inviting. The service is excellent. You are greeted by a friendly representative ready to take you on your food adventure. The menu is very easy to understand and broken down in sections. You choose your dish and your protein. Let me tell you about the appetizers. I absolutely love summer rolls. Any Thai place I go to I ask for them and I judge them by their peanut sauce. The peanut sauce here is warm and delicious. I could not stop dipping my rolls into the sauce and thought about asking for more. DELICIOUS! I also ventured to try the tulip dumplings. The dumplings are not for everyone because of the type of sauce that is used, but I would recommend ordering this with friends so that everyone can try them since everyone's pallet is different. Now onto the main plates. My daughter orders the Phad Woon Sen which is glass noodles in a savory sweet sauce, often accompanied with tomato egg, onions, and scallion. If there is something you don't want in it, you can tell them and they will prepare it how you wish. Now, I absolutely love Phad Thai. I always order it at a Thai restaurant and judge them by this as well. This Phad Thai was one of the best I have ever had. Not too sweet, but just right. I ordered it with chicken, but you could choose any protein you want. And you can always tell them what spice level you want. Mine was not spicy, but I do love spice so I asked them for some of the sauces and they brought me three little jars. One had peanuts one had a powdery spice and the other was a sauce. Two of them, of course were hot and spicy and I loved it and put it on my Phad Thai. I fell in love with those little spice jars so much I gave them names, Winken Blinken and Nod... LOL!!!!! ...oh and I did want more peanut sauce, so my daughter told them to give me more but the one that was on the spicy side and it was awesome. Have come here for a couple years, but won't be back after today. Rude and combative service. I noticed someone else who'd ordered lunch had an appetizer brought out. I wondered why I hadn't been asked what appetizer I wanted so when I asked the server she told me I didn't order my item from the right lunch menu. She explained that there are two different lunch menus and even though the exact same same item was on both and even though I didn't even look at a menu when I ordered she insisted that I'd ordered the lunch that didn't come with any appetizer. I explained I was confused twice and rather than just fix it for me she insisted that I was wrong. I don't care about price, but for something so small for her to double down and scolding me for "ordering wrong". Rather than let me order the other lunch item or just bring me a cup of soup her resolution was that I "order from the right menu next time". I walked out, and there won't be a next time. Our first visit to Sea Thai was long overdue. Admittedly, Thai isn't my favorite food. However, this place is really nice. The 5 other people I was with are huge Thai fans and loved it. I ordered selectively knowing which dishes I typically like and I was very happy with my choices. Their steamed pot stickers were the highlight of my visit. They were wonderful. Definitely great service and their Thai tea was on point but we just didn't love our entrees. The khao soi broth was good but the chicken was very dry and the crispy noodles didn't taste as good as other Thai places I've been. The curry was also disappointing and we didn't finish it.
