We had the Old Bridge Platter, Cevapi, and Mućkalica. The Old Bridge platter had Dolma (in their case stuffed bell pepper), stuffed cabbage, shish kabob with different meats, homemade sausages, and a spinach/egg and cheese pastry. The ENTIRE PLATTER was melt-in-your-mouth delicious. The pepper and cabbage were stuffed with ground meat and rice, it was nicely seasoned and the cabbage and pepper were nicely cooked. The dish kabob was grilled to perfection and had good flavor and the homemade sausages were also good. The spinach pastry was one of the best bites, just really good flavor on it. The Cevapi was their homemade sausages with their pita bread, really good. The Mućkalica tasted like a warm hug, just lightly spiced and super rich. The couple running the place, super sweet and not at all judgy if you have never been there or don't know what things are, the wife took time to explain to us the menu and answer any questions, super sweet couple. The dessert, the baklava and multi-layer cake. Baklava was as described, slightly softer than your typical baklava, similar flavors. The Multi-layer cake was the standout, the crust was the baklava filling but there was other whipped layers of cream, the flavor was perfectly sweet. And the turkish coffee, nice and strong and the give you a Turkish delight on the side the bite in between sips. Really good meal, wish they were open on Sundays, but we will be back next time we're in town. read more

The place is named after a world heritage bridge in Bosnia and the food takes you right to the country for a home cooked meal. I think I might have been convinced to go visit Bosnia just by going to this restaurant. The meat--tender & flavorful. The bread had that freshly baked taste and so many fun flavors and dishes to try. Old Bridge Platter is the way to go. Even though I drive past Old Bridge Cafe weekly we finally took notice to visit on recommendation from a Bosnian-born local -- and wow was it a wonderful visit! We loved the Bosnian food, which had echoes of flavors and dishes with which we are familiar in other Mediterranean foods and travels. We especially loved meeting the warm and friendly couple who run Old Bridge Cafe, and who emigrated from Bosnia in the time of Post-USSR regional warring. While I don't know that history well at all, I'm grateful that such kind and welcoming people found a safe new home here in Utah; were able to plant roots of success for their kids; and that they now operate this tasty cafe. The cevapi sausages, smoky kebabs, and sarma sour-cabbage rolls were what were recommended to us as must-tries. So the $40 platter is the perfect way of trying everything major. The food has that real-homecooked taste, even if the sausages were just a bit more "bouncy" --but this is apparently an authentic textural distinctive of this variety of ethnic sausage. The kebab meat was juicy and charcoal-smoke-laced. The stuffed pepper and zeljanica spinach-cheese pastry-pie also delicious. Yet it was the mildly-spicy ajvar roasted red pepper-eggplant sauce that was completely new to us, and a welcoming delight. Together with the cream-cheesy kajmak and warm pita bread it was a perfect bite with the juicy meats. When we rolled in thru the darkly tinted windows at 6:30 on a Saturday night we wondered if it was even open for business because we were the first there. But by the time we were done eating (which they made a leisurely tho pleasant pace) many of the other tables were filled and the cafe bustled with a warm family vibe. We definitely look forward to our next visit! (Edit: we've been back and love the little market here, too, getting some of the bottled sauces, spicy peppers, anise-toffees, and unique Bosnian soda drinks.) read more

This place is one of our favorites. The family that owns this place always seems so friendly and happy when we visit - the service has always been top notch. But we come for the food! If you like Bosnian/European food, please give this place a try. We almost always order one of the platters and just share it family-style! The owner made us a gourmet Bosnian feast. Such incredible food. Come hungry, he'll feed you. I don't know all the names but if you talk with him, and get to know him, it's his pleasure to treat you to a home cooked authentic meal. That's what we got! Everything was so delicious. It's like halal, meets Greek. It was so delicious. I love putting meat in the bread with the cheese and red sauce and using some of the pickled veggies inside. Yum! The desserts were incredible. No one inside, all to ourselves. Tv inside with a basketball game on. Authentic eastern music playing. Lots of chain candies and chocolates in the hallway to the bathroom that are fun to peruse. Absolutely lovely couple running the restaurant! I was a bit nervous bringing my messy baby in but they were unbelievably kind and accommodating. The food was truly amazing. Every bite I kept looking over at my husband surprised at just how delicious their ćevapi is. We got another order to go so we could eat more when we have more room! Amongst the shops and stores off 33rd south you can find a cafe with excellent flavors on the busy street. It's not the cheapest, nor is it the most beautiful restaurant but its genuineness more than makes up for those shortcomings. The restaurant itself is very clean and tastefully decorated. The service is quick and professional, and polite. ... Man the Kabobs are awesome. The garnishments are well made and complement the dish perfectly. I love the place. If you're looking for a cozy place that serves authentic European dishes, this is THE spot. We stopped by today and ordered Turkish coffee, Steak and Eggs and Muckalica. As we were enjoying our coffee, the food came out fairly quickly and it was piping hot. The Muckalica is like a hearty tomato-based stew that has beef, bell peppers, onions and rice in it. It is served with a side of bread. It was flavorful and filling. The steak and eggs includes ajvar and kajmak. Service is great! This is a family restaurant that is ran by the a cute and sweet couple who puts a lot of love into their food. We can't wait to come back to try the other dishes. read more

We had lunch here today while on a road trip and absolutely loved not only the food but the kind man who made our experience feel welcoming! The food was made with love and was absolutely delicious. I ordered the Old Bridge Kebab with chicken and beef and my boyfriend ordered the goulash. Both were warm and full of flavour. The pepper sauce and maybe feta or labneh that was served with the kebab was a perfect pairing. The atmosphere was calm and welcoming with soft music playing and a few other patrons also enjoying the welcoming food. Seriously, why do we love this place, when there are so many places in SLC we haven't visited? It's the owners. The food is always cooked when we order, so we know that we wait a minute. I prefer sparkling water, which they have.. They have different carbonated beverages for my husband. The bread spread is amazing and the owner finally shared the recipe with me on my last visit, but don't expect me to share it with you. I'm not a fan of the Spanikopita but the stuffed cabbage is amazing!l But again, the owner recognizes us and when Bart orders a Turkish coffee, he takes it outside to drink and have a cigarette after dinner, and the owner joins him with a cigarette which makes us feel like we are family. I am not condoning cigarettes, but I am endorsing food relationships. read more

Probably one of the best breakfasts I've ever had. There's a ton of pride in the restaurant and the food. This is not your typical greasy spoon so don't expect rush service, but your meal will arrive when it's appropriately ready at the perfect time, and be extra delicious. The food was amazing. The place is run by a lovely couple who serve gigantic plate sizes. They have both outdoor and indoor seating, and provided hand sanitizer and wore masks indoors. You can order bottled drinks, too. We got the shawarma platter and the beef goulash. Everything was delicious. The food came with giant baskets of fluffy bread, and the rice was amazingly seasoned. They provide onions and cream cheese to go with the meat, which sounds unique, but is really tasty. It was our first time trying Bosnian food, and it was definitely worth a try. We also tried the Turkish coffee and jupi and the caramel soda. The jupi was great. The Turkish coffee is a must try- they came served with a Turkish delight and was incredibly tasty. The food and service were great, and the fact that it is locally owned was awesome and added a home feel. Will definitely come again and recommend! read more

Went on a whim to explore and try something new! We got the platter that included a little of everything that was about $40 for two people. It was all really good and somewhat fresh. The cabbage rolls and stuffed pepper were a little cold. But everything else was warm and tasty. Would go again, but would just get individual items. It's a one man show running, so you'll need a little patience. But it's a cute little place! read more

The Old Bridge Cafe was fantastic! Service was straight to the point and run by the owners who were so attentive and happy to provide answers to all our questions. The cafe is small and simple with about 8 tables. We tried the Turkish coffee, which was lovely! The pita was hot and delicious, and you could tell the food was made fresh. Both owners served us as we added more food to try, and both desserts!! The baklava was different and not crispy, but it was moist, and I enjoyed it even more as the filo had captured the taste of the filling. The Delight Cake was superb! I can't believe I have never been to this place! Old bridge takes you to Bosnia for dinner. You walk in and the owner greets you and makes you feel very welcome. Like I'm at her house of dinner. Now, I'm adding Bosnia to my travel list. They have a giant painting of the famous old bridge in Bosnia and it looks like a really cool place to check out. We had the beef goulash which was delicious and the bread it comes with was perfect to dip into the soup or eat plain. So good! Then we tried the combo platter that has a little of everything. At first glance I was a little nervous but every tasted so good! The meat was seasoned perfectly and the stuff pepper was a nice surprise with rice and mixed veggies. I can't believe I haven't reviewed old bridge cafe yet. It was one of the best discovery I made ever when I first move to Salt Lake City. It's a small little mom and pop cafe for a delicious Bulgarian food. You can never go wrong with what ever you order here. If you don't know what to order the guy, who is also the owner, can help. He's very straight forward and funny. He'll understand your taste and recommend the best of the best even if it is cheap. He won't recommend the most expensive item, even though there isn't much that's expensive. My most recent trip I ordered the beef goulash. It was amazing. The soup was flavorful. The meat was tender. Best part, it was packed with vegetables. The side bread it came with was amazing as well. Just thinking about this place makes me super hungry! read more

My sister and I meet for lunch once a month. We have to choose a new place and try a new food every time. We do theme lunches, birthday lunches, all lunches this way. One day our lunch brought us here. And both of us told our families how much we love it and then went back with other people to show them how amazing this cozy diner is.
