For a hotel restaurant, Chef Josh sets the bar pretty darn high. Actually pretty high for any restaurant location. I had the Blackened Salmon Salad, which was just awesome. For starters, I was served a couple of rolls with a fabulous butter and oil. The Blackened Salmon Salad entree was a great follow up to that. I took some photos. You cannot tell how the flavor was obviously, but it was definitely what people would expect from a Michelin type restaurant. Yep, that good. Let's be honest! Most hotel restaurants are overpriced, but let me tell you this. This restaurant is inside of the Hilton Garden Inn in Ogden, UT, it is a game changer. The food is well priced and affordable. The Chef for breakfast Bree and the Chef for Nights Overturn are amazing, they literally take the time to make your dish with love and treat you like family. I was shocked how delicious and fresh my food was. Joey, Andrea, Michelle, Jennifer, Cathy, Parker, and so many more names that i can't mention them all. This restaurant is really nice the ambiance is amazing and you can just relax and have a few drinks or a glass of wine in peace. All of the staff are just angels and really take the time to make you feel welcomed and comfortable. My favorite so far is the Fish & Chips and the Blackened Salmon Salad, the Jumbo Lump Crab Cake was also amazing, I really enjoyed how fresh it was and tasteful. I really am so happy that I found this little hidden gem of a restaurant. If you want some amazing and fresh colorful food, from some amazing chefs come by anytime for breakfast and or dinner, I have had both and they are wonderful experiences. Most of the time, unless it's a really high-end hotel, most people do not consider eating at a hotel's restaurant. This one is different for sure. I was pleasantly surprised and I ended up eating here 3 times. I only ended up trying this restaurant because I was tired from my work day and didn't want to go out for dinner. My first night, I ordered crab cakes, a menagerie salad, and buffalo wings. The crab cakes were tasty, the buffalo wings were okay, but the menagerie salad with white pepper walnuts and cranberries was to die for. My second dinner a few nights later, I ordered the garlic and herb chicken as well as the menagerie salad for an appetizer. As always, the menagerie salad is awesome with the white pepper walnuts. The presentation of the chicken entree was beautiful. It's just something that you don't really expect from a restaurant inside a reasonably-priced hotel. The chicken was perfectly cooked and the bed of roasted red pepper potato was so yummy. My last night at the hotel, I was really tired so I went downstairs to the restaurant and ordered a menagerie salad (do you detect a trend here with the salad? :-) ) with the NY Steak cooked medium rare. I don't need to say anything more about the salad but the steak was perfectly cooked to medium rare perfection served on top of a roasted garlic potato with a loop of bacon. It was very satisfying and I went to bed a happy man. You can't lose if you are looking for a reasonably priced restaurant and you are too tired to go out for dinner. If you are not staying at the hotel, this restaurant is still worth paying a visit. read more

Went here recently on a date night based off of some Yelp reviews. We're glad we went! We split a salad for an appetizer, but didn't love the salad. It had craisins, walnuts, lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers and onions. Wish there were more walnuts and craisins. We also didn't love the dressing. Very tangy and mustardy flavor. For the entrees, I wanted to try the ribeye - but they were sold out. Bummer. I got a cheeseburger and it was good. The seasoned fries were really delicious! This place is not we known which is awesome for me and my wife but it needs to be more known without a doubt. I called two days ahead and I was told that they don't do reservations, so we would have to get here early instead. But then began to tell us they have a reservation for 20 people, reminder they said they don't do reservations as they are under policy with Darden co. I felt so unwelcome at this establishment I was scolded at for not understanding and then I was just given a sarcastic tone as if I'm suppose to know policy. We would have never eaten at the hotel had we not read the great Yelp reviews. We were so happy we tried it! The crab cakes ARE better than in Maryland! So moist and flavorful! We were able to get the recipe for the crab cake itself, but not the sauce, which was amazing! I thought we would have to order the bread and butter, but it comes free and the butter is SO good. I don't usually eat bread and butter, but I gobbled this up! My husband got the ribeye. The meat itself was delicious, and the bed of corn it was served on was very unusual but so good. I got the crab pasta. It was delicious, but the crab didn't give me as much wow as it did in the crab cake. I'm not sure why. The ambience was lovely too. It is a hotel lobby, but it was quiet, elegant and they played really nice music. I highly recommend giving it a try. It was empty when we were there, which makes me sad for the chef and staff, but the food still tasted so fresh. I'm not sure how they do that. read more

My husband and I went here last night and the menu was outstanding, very hard to make only a couple decisions and not order the whole menu! For appetizers we got the mussels and pork belly burnt ends, super delicious! Then he had the Overturf burger and I had the blackened salmon salad which were both excellent, my husband who is a self proclaimed burger connoisseur, said it was one of the best he's ever had! We finished with the chocolate bread pudding with ice cream and were super satisfied and happy. Was very good, Chef knows what he's doing. Service was good as well. It's kind of a hidden gem honestly. Was a little worried since it's in a hotel but all the food was phenomenal. It's kind of odd that such good food has so little customers. For a Saturday night the place was pretty empty which is great for me and my girlfriend. First off the guy in the front that's a bus boy in long hair or host, is absolutely rude as hell! Is making a huge deal because we wanted to sit and drink while we wait for 45 mins to order our meals which is completely normal. Tells our waiter we are too packed to take any appetizer orders. Completely ignoring my guys when they talk. Not taking our drink orders as well anymore and there is no manager on site. And it's not the food or anyone else there it's just that's host being rude. I mean the appetizers were amazing we new it's be good for the atmosphere we saw but we decided to leave. If you can't speak to customers maybe you shouldn't be here. Josh (Chef de cuisine) came from the Las Vegas property and he's put together a remarkable menu. The restaurant team is doing a wonderful job. For dinner I chose the Crab and Avocado Salad (lump crab and perfectly ripe avocado) and arugula with a champagne mint vinagrette and shared a Brie, Pear flatbread with candied walnuts and Banana Creme Brulee. Was a quiet night at the HGI. I was met by Chef Josh and seated... We talked for a few minutes and I decided to let him choose my menu, what a great choice! The waiter misunderstood us several times and served us the wrong Wine, brought us sides vegetable to eat as appetizers instead with the entrees dish. The Crab and Avocado Napoleon came without the melon caviar. It was delicious. The White Truffle and Parmesan Pommes Frites were cold and tasteless and we set them aside immediately. My guy really loved the burger, mushroom risotto, and mixed berry galette he ordered. Would have been nice if we'd gotten more than a spoonful of ice cream with our desserts. Do you know those little 2 oz containers that you can get sauce to-go at a restaurant? That's what the ice cream came in, and no, it wasn't full. A group of us went to this restaurant upon seeing these good reviews from previous customers. We were more than disappointed by the service we received, even with just us in the restaurant. We waited 40 minutes for our appetizer, which wasn't what we ordered. We then waited an additional hour for our entrees. The waiter was very nice but never had a sense of urgency even with our drinks that took an average of 20 minutes to receive each time. When I reached out to speak to a manager the hotel staff told me that they didn't have one on site... We will never be returning there again. read more

The hubby and I decided to take a mini vacation to Eden for thanksgiving to relax, and buying (versus making) a thanksgiving meal was an integral part of relaxing.
