Arrived here on a Saturday around 9am in February and there were still a few tables available. You instantly get a cozy small diner feel once you enter. The menu is surprisingly very low-cost, which is appropriate for the quality of food you get. I ordered the One Egg Plate, where you get one egg and choose 2 additional sides of either grits, hash browns, sliced tomatoes, toast, biscuit, or small gravy. I requested the egg to be scrambled with cheddar cheese with sides of hash browns and a biscuit. The egg arrived with a good amount of cheese added. The biscuit was soft, fluffy, with a buttery taste. It would have tasted better if the outside was a bit toasted and if it was served with real butter. The hash browns appeared to be concocted from a grater attachment and were a bit thicker than your typical hashbrowns grated by hand. They had a crispy top layer and a chewy bite. After you're done eating, pay at the counter. My meal turned out to be less than $5. This is a nice local diner to get a bite to eat for a cheap price. read more

I don't recommend because the food is bland. They don't use butter. If I'm going to eat a lot of calories I'd like the food to taste good. They cook eggs with oil and vegetable spread on pancakes and biscuits. Bland! Bland! Bland! read more

Nice local spot. I went here twice while in Oak Island, once for lunch and for breakfast the next day. Both times I was politely greeted at the door and directed to the area with open seating. Lunch offers daily specials plus lunch plates. I ordered the country fried steak with fries and hush puppies. Food was brought to my table with almost no wait time. I liked the sausage gravy that covered the country fried steak, Good flavor on the hush puppies as well. For my breakfast, I ordered two scrambled eggs, grits, hash browns, and hamburger steak. Ate here alone on Monday, September 5, 2022. Breakfast was ok. Got 3 eggs over medium with sausage links and hash browns, white toast. Everything was cooked properly and hot. So far so good. The side order of ham was terrible. No taste and tougher than shoe leather. Coffee was good. Would have been 4 stars except for the ham. This was worth the drive. Our server herself made up for the whole experience. We carried on a long multi table conversation about why would anyone like fried liver which you can order there for breakfast, and we had pros and cons going from both sides. I would give this place a solid 4.5 stars out of five. We picked this place based on the rating on yelp and I was very pleased. There was a wait when we got there but they have benche outside since the restaurant lacked waiting area space. They have a decant amount of parking. Our server was very nice and attentive.
