We arrived mid morning on a Saturday, and had about a 10 minute wait to be seated. I had the daily special, the fish and chips. Food as I expected, and fries were good and hot. My husband ordered trio salad plate with chicken salad, macaroni salad and a tossed salad. Service was good.

    Can't miss it!

All was good at the Old Bridge Diner this morning. Busy place but not too long a wait. All in our party enjoyed their breakfast, server was attentive and friendly and food was out soon. Eggs cooked how ordered, hash browns extra crispy like I like them, waffle was flavorful, and bacon as bacon should be. Would say one opportunity is the biscuit was not very tasty. Not sure but would guess it is frozen. All in all a definite stop by again next time at Oak Island. Also make sure and pop your head in Crossroads Gathering Place next to the diner. Neat shop to browse. Good selling!

This place has become my new favorite, it has that old diner charm, southern hospitality, and just darn good food. We sat at the bar this time for a whole other experience, you can watch them cook your food right in front of you. If you don't like your food touching or if you are allergic tell them before hand because everything goes on the grill. I highly recommend this place. Per my last review they have gone up in price on a few items, still super affordable and delicious!

Multiple visits to this stop on this recent trip. Again, can't say enough about the casual dining experience and the outstanding breakfast foods! 10 out of 10, I don't know of a better breakfast stop anywhere where we have traveled to over the years. Fast friendly efficient flavorful cost-effective. What else do you need? To those about to nosh, we salute you!

    Good hot coffee!

My husband and I have been here twice and it has quickly become our go to breakfast spot in Oak Island. I personally love the old school diner vibes. It's nostalgic in every way, down to the thick, heavy Old Bridge Diner coffee mugs. The staff is friendly and our waitress, Audra, was a great waitress always keeping our coffee refilled and making sure we had everything we needed. The food!! The food is amazing! We've only had their breakfast but both times it was great! As an added surprise to me, the tomatoes my husband ordered looked so good and ripe I had to order a side dish of them. And their fruit was delicious given that most fruit being sold in the grocery stores this time of year is awful. I'm thinking they get their produce from the local produce stand down the rd. The bacon was crisp, eggs cooked exactly the way I like them (sunny side up) and they had the option of rye toast which I love. My husband got the corn beef hash and loved it. I know this place is probably more of a locals spot, but I'm so happy we have found this place. I would definitely recommend and we will be back every time we visit OI.

Old Bridge Diner offers breakfast and lunch options. It gave me Waffle House vibes. It was the biscuits & gravy (one biscuit) with a side of hash browns and an apple juice for me and the old bridge breakfast with a coffee for my husband. The food was just okay but the portion for the price was well worth it. There will likely be a wait if you visit but it was not long for us.

Such an old school diner vibe! This diner is a great choice for breakfast or lunch. Attached to "Doodles" (lol) gas station, how could you go wrong?? Place is PACKED but they turn tables over admirably. I got a club sammach and my lovely wife got breakfast-y stuff. Nearly everything was great. I did not love the cheap cheese on my club, and the orange juice was borderline mop water. But the coffee was VERY good for a diner. There is a reason this place is busy.

Easy to find and easy to park!

What a fun and delicious breakfast! The place was packed with both locals and tourists. It had a great vibe! Best of all, I was there with my best childhood friend. Amy and her family. We were a party of 11 but got seated in a relatively short time, especially considering how full it was. I was so glad they chose Old bridge. Diner. I have passed that place a million times and always wondered what it was like. Had a cool old fashioned feel to it and like I said, a nice vibe once you walked in and certainly a lot of great smells. This was the climax and the farewell of a week-long vacation at the beach with my best friend and her husband Mark and all of their family and my kids and their partners. We had a glorious week of everything from pizza to a boil to smashburgers to subs to shrimp to ice cream. This was the final send off! It was Mark's treat so I decided to go for it and ordered everything. My plate came with grits and eggs and bacon and biscuit and a huge pancake. I was in absolute heaven. And of course, endless coffee! I did not see what everybody else was eating, but I know several ordered eggs Benedict and really loved it. Amy and I laughed about eating grits. Growing up in the Bronx we had no idea what they were. Amy and I also had a laugh about how friendly and courteous the waitress was. She always checked in with a smile, was happy to fill our cups with coffee and used lots of words of endearment like "Honey" and "Sugar" when they spoke to us. In the Bronx it would slam the plate on the table and grunt as they walked away! And so we all said our goodbyes in the parking lot of the Old Bridge Diner. Lots of hugs, some tears but definitely happy full bellies! I don't go out for breakfast often, but next time I do I would definitely come back to this place. A nice hearty hot plate at a fair price, conveniently located, with a cool old fashioned inside decor and with an excellent vibe with warm and helpful staff! See you on the beach!

This place was jammin! Open for breakfast and lunch - serving the full menu from open to close this place was packed with a waiting list. We had a couple minute wait but when we were seated our server was quick to get our drinks and then gave us some time to peruse the menu. My fella got himself a club sandwich with fries and it was no puny club. You'll never hear him say "boy, am I full" when there is still good on the plate. Haha but he did today -didn't stop him from finishing I got a couple of hotcakes, hash browns and sausage. Mmmmm.... I however was unable to finish mine but walked out of there with a belly filled with tasty goodness. This is the place to be for a full breakfast or yummy lunch.

My husband and I tried this place for the first time after passing by it several times. No regrets to be had here, other than the fact that I ate too much. The food was amazing and came out within minutes of us ordering, the staff is very friendly and on top of things. Even the kitchen helps on the floor refilling beverages and clearing plates. If you're looking for a classic diner experience with classic diner food, this is the place to go!

Took the Fort Fisher ferry over to Southport for the day, and we stopped in for an early lunch…read more They were not busy yet, which was our plan. Eat first, then do all our walking. We were greeted by very friendly staff that seated us in a back corner. No foot traffic over there. Server came by for drink orders and we had some time to look over the large menu. It is your typical diner food. Big portions and all fresh made. We tried the Henny Penny sandwich with side of fries and the Reuben with side of fries. Chicken was cooked perfectly on this wonderful roll. Looked delicious. The Reuben meat was chopped and mixed with the sauce and sauerkraut. Very easy to eat this way. And I love the marble rye bread. Not sure where they get their bread but both sandwiches were amazing. Fries were hot and crispy too. This is a great spot right in the middle of Southport. When we finished and left, almost every table was full, even outside tables. There are only about 8 tables inside, so when they are busy, I'm sure there is a wait. We will definitely return when in Southport. Give this little place a try. Great food and service right in the heart of Southport. 5 stars
