For less than $50 (on average), you get access to the 5k course with 20+ obstacles. Upon completion you get a finisher's medal, free tee shirt and a beer for runners 21+. If one free beer is not enough there are vendors where you can purchase additional beverages. Rugged also hosts an after party with a dj and contests (beer hoist, pull up contest and etc.). The race is held at the Old Bridge Township Raceway Park which is flat aside from a few dirt hills made specifically for the course. Most of the obstacles were doable, none were overly difficult. The most challenging for me are the obstacles requiring upper body strength like the rings and monkey bars. There is no pressure to complete any obstacle-you are able to skip without penalty. I consider it more of a laid back/less challenging Spartan Race. The flow of the course was very good-there weren't any bottlenecks or delays at any the obstacles. The course is super muddy and you will get mud/dirt in every nook and cranny of your body. There are outdoor showers to rinse the dirt off so bring a change of clothes and a towel.

My husband and I did not eat, but everyone else did. They were raving about the fried oreos. We were really fortunate to come on the night they had the demolition derby. While the Speedway is dated, it is still a…read moregreat experience given that there are not many speedways left in the area and especially no other experiences like this. While it is like driving an oversized Go-Cart, there are no speed governor's and you are in control. These TQ Midget Cars can go up to 120 mph. However, for us average drivers, you can get up to speeds of 60-70 mph. You get 5 laps around the 1/3 mile track, with laps averaging 15-30 seconds. For $30 more, you can get 5 more laps. The whole experience lasts 1-2 hours from check in to completion. They provide you with Cotton Socks, a Fire Resistant suit and shoes and Helmet. All you need is your License and CASH if you plan on purchasing a Photo, GoPro video, or additional laps. Otherwise, leave everything else in the car because there are no lock boxes available. No experience is needed. They give you a personal presentation about driving the vehicle and then bring you to the vehicle to learn everything you need to know about it. After this, you are ready to go! Everyone goes separately, however, you will follow an experienced driver in a "pace" car, but this will not limit the experience. Without a Groupon, I do not know if I would pay full price to do this experience. They do offer a Two for One special as well for $220 that includes 10 laps instead of 5, so that may be worth it. It is also worth noting that they only run this Experience during the summer time at 9am and 1030am.

The staff was quick in addressing it and shout out to the Farmingdale Fire Dept for their fast reply! Lastly, the race was fun! We did 2 races and it was a blast! Also played some arcade games. :) I think the price was fair. The last place I went to that was similar to this used fuel, and I paid around $79. Considering the $10 difference, I say it's decently priced! Just a little note: the safety video needs subtitles because you cant hear anything.

We got to enter a fun contest for a car - got a horse with a number, throw the horse in the car, and they pick a winner from the ones in the car. And we got to bring home some reject foam horses. They see our Groupon and we paid for 2 people but they wouldnt honor it. Noone is in the office so they couldn't confirm the reservation. Its disorganized amd just a mess. We've been here for 3 hours for a 2 minute experience for my husband. As a business owner, sometimes you just have to do the right thing. That isnt this business. I would never do this again amd sadly its taking away from my husband's Fathers Day experience and 3 hours plus the driving time to get here and back home, 5 hours in all.
